Things they love? Things even I love! This store is so cool! It reminds me of the toy stores in OC. I appreciate they quality of the toys they carry and how they most gear towards imaginative play. They even have the ABCs in braille thank you for selling things like this. It's so hard to find adaptive toys in person. I also love that they have a play area for kids to enjoy while parents shop. I can tell that you are really here to serve the community and you care about the littles. The woman who was there when I went was so kind and attentive. She did not hover over me (I was the only one in the store at the time) but she gave me my space to look around. Great quality toys, awesome service, and genuine care towards kids is what your shop radiates to me and I love it. I hope you stay open for a really long time. I have shopped here a few times for childrens gifts. What a great selection of wooden and simple safe toys for all ages. I am always greeted by a smiling employee and then left to explore on my own. Their buyer does a great job of thoughtfully choosing their items. What gem of a store! read more

OMG! This is be far what the downtown area needed! Our girls had a ball exploring the store and playing with the toys in the play area. The staff is so helpful and polite. The store is stocked with all the amazing toys we've been looking for from our baby register days to now. We absolutely love the quality and variety of toys for kids of all ages at Things They Love! The set up of the store encourage kids to play as you shop and the layout allows you to see them no matter where you are in the store shopping area! I live about 1.5 hours away from this shop but will make the drive to visit because my son absolutely loves it here. He loves exploring all the new toys and chatting up the owner like she's his best friend. Victoria and her staff have always been nothing but patient (with my sons million questions), welcoming, and just overall amazing. Not only will you find all the wooden toys your heart could possibly desire, she also has an amazing collection of diversity books! This shop is just hands down magical! Do yourself a favor and visit! The only negative thing I have to say is, you will leave with a pretty empty wallet...so save up because you'll want to buy it all...willingly! read more

Love the idea of having a local place that sells things I regularly buy online like Ollie Ella. Always a little underwhelmed at the execution though. The inventory feels stagnant and when I went in to find some stuff for my baby I was just underwhelmed. The owner is nice but if you go in when the owner isn't there the girls working are not very engaging and really don't have the energy you would expect from a children's toy store. I'll probably stick to shopping online since the customer service isn't great and you feel like you're bothering them when you're there. read more

When I came upon this unique kids toy store, I fell in love. I love the aesthetic of the store. Everything is organized so cute. They often change the way the store is decorated/organized, and I love that. I love that you can find things that you won't find at regular stores. They also have a little play area for the kids. They often have different activities happening, and it seems like at least once a month, if not, more. The girls that work the front are so cute and sweet. This is the cutest store! I stopped by right before they closed and they were so sweet and welcoming and said they were fine with me browsing for a bit past closing time. I didn't want to hold them up so I didn't stay long but I will definitely be back. I got a couple of things for my three month old niece that I can't wait to give her. I have been on the wooden toy scene for many years before it got popular after COVID hit. It was my jam! What's not to love? Non toxic, hand crafted, fair trade, heirloom quality wooden and natural made toys! Not only are they opened ended and magical but they double as gorgeous decor! Now imagine my thrill when I came across a new wooden toy shop local to me in riverside! YES finally I could go in person to ogle over all these gorgeous toys! I have a 10yr old, 6yr old and 3yr old. "Things they love" started as a small shop located on Arlington in riverside. I went with my youngest who was 2 at that time and came back multiple times always with my littlest. I met the shop owner Victoria. The second I came in with my daughter she was so welcoming and warm and let my daughter explore and play and even opened toys for my daughter to play with (she especially loves the baby dolls miniland that the shop carries) if the item wasn't out for display to play with she never had a problem opening a set for my daughter to play with. (I saw another review here that mentioned signing at the new shop location so I wanted to get this in my review) now of course toddlers are toddlers so occasionally my daughter would reach for more babies and we always told her together that those babies had families waiting for them so she couldn't open all the babies haha--- also my daughter always made such a mess around the shop and victoria NEVER complained and always encouraged to let her play! Which I would always say I'm so sorry she's making such a mess! anyways I've been a few times by myself and enjoyed relaxing and building with the skandico blocks and just de-stressing with victoria. She's such an amazing person and so kind. She has gone above and beyond for her customers and even replaced an item for us personally that had broke and always makes sure her customers are happy. I went to the new shop location this week and oh my god it's beautiful and I got all happy to see random people walking in to experience the shop for the first time who weren't familiar with wooden toys! Victoria was off that day but her employee that works Sunday was just as sweet and kind!! Was helpful and patient with me as well. You won't be disappointed coming into this shop! Yes the toys are pricey but they are heirloom quality and resell value on them is incredible. Worth every penny! Also I did see the new signs posted around the shop such as not to let kids play with the soft bodied dolls like cuddle and kind which is totally understandable! The signage was worded beautifully that I saw. sorry I don't have pictures to share of new location but I will add some next time I take my daughter to the new location for now here are pics of items we have bought from the shop! read more

I'm not saying don't shop here. I'm just telling buyer beware. Read and ASK sales person about dolls . They are anatomically correct and they box is deceiving and the sales person won't tell you. Some people are ok w that. I am not , and reaching out to others they are not as well. The owner also has spread rumors that preschools have these in there possession and that is not true. I've reached out to several. And when confronted the owner was awful! Rude , insensitive and just plane mean. read more

We went to the farmers market Saturday and my son was so attracted to this store because of the balloon display, he asked to go in 3x. I was reluctant, because I hadn't planned to buy him anything. This just meant I had to set the expectation prior and he was fine. Immediately upon entry, we were warmly greeted by the owner and encouraged to allow my son to play in the play area in the back. There was another young child whose mother was kind and just the sort of positive mom I love to run into. It was a lovely experience in a small business and one that makes me want to go back and support them. I hope they stay around for years to come. It'd be nice to have that as the sort of place my children can remember fondly. They have so many books and Montessori toys as well. read more

I'm not local but on a trip to California to visit family I went out of my way to visit the shop. You can't find these kinds of toys just anywhere. Victoria is so helpful in making suggestions and it was really cool to watch what my son would gravitate towards and follow his lead. I never would have bought him a Toniebox otherwise, and now we're hooked and cutting way back on screen time. I wish we were close by and could visit and participate in the special events. read more

Was walking through the downtown area with my son sometime before noon on a Tuesday and stumbled upon this place. We were greeted with smiles and informed of the toys that could be played with in the middle of the store. My son ( 2 years old) loved testing out the fun and unique items that were set up. There was no pressure to purchase and questions were answered courteously. In the end, we purchased a set of wooden construction trucks which my son is enjoying. It's a great place to stop by while walking through the downtown area with kids and a great place to shop around for some neat toys. read more
