I passed by Kawaii Klaws, located in the Galleria at Tyler mall, and was surprised to see a machine with some Chiikawa merch. It's not too big inside, but there's a few rows of machines to choose from. They were all stocked well and the machines looked new and clean. Plays were $1 each with a card being $2. The attendant was really helpful when the claw was being buggy. I just showed her a video of it resetting prematurely and she gave me my play back. I had a decent experience overall but was a little upset when my Usagi came out and I realized it was fake (I think). The real sleeping bag Chiikawa plush series has tags and their names written on the back of the sleeping bag. I didn't pay that much so I wasn't upset, but it's something to be aware of. read more

These machines feel completely rigged. We successfully grabbed a toy on almost every attempt, but as the claw lifted, it would suddenly jerk or smack upward and drop the prize. This happened on over 10 different machines and with all kinds of prizes--plushies, boxed items, and squishies. It wasn't just one machine or one toy. After spending a lot of money and seeing the same thing happen repeatedly, it felt more frustrating than fun. Very disappointing experience. save your money! An IG follower asked me to make a video on the Kawaii Claws West Covina location. But since I was already here I decided to just make a quick video here. I've been to the Westminster one before and the plush here looked nice. Service was just okay. They were in the middle of training a new employee so it was unfortunately difficult to get someone to reposition plush. Also, as a first time visitor, other claw arcades usually explain the process but they didn't do that for me when I was registering my new card. Idk why this place has so many low reviews lol it was very fun and had alot of choices and it wasn't too expensive. We're not that great with claws maybe average and we won 5 toys and just spent $20. Way cheaper than a fair lol and the employees were super sweet to adjust the machines if we asked or if we wanted to trade a toy from the same machine if we wanted another one. I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the employee who was working today, Thursday, January 22, 2026, around noon. I brought my daughter in, and unfortunately I didn't catch the employee's name, but she was absolutely outstanding in every possible way. She patiently answered all of my questions and took the time to explain how the machines work, how we can trade prizes within the same machine if we like something else, and how trade-ins work for the larger prizes. She even helped stack items in the claw machines to make it easier for my daughter to play and win. I loaded $50 onto our game card, and thanks to her help and encouragement, my daughter had an amazing experience. She was so excited and proud that she was able to win enough prizes to trade in for a big one. Seeing her that happy meant everything to me. We've visited a few times in the past, and no one has ever gone out of their way to help us like this employee did today. She truly went above and beyond, and I hope her manager and leadership team see this message because she deserves recognition. First time we went won a bunch of plushies and everyone else was winning them as well around us, the place was packed. This time we spent $20 and did not win any. There was only a few other people playing, not packed like the first time, this was a Friday evening. A lot of times, while playing, the claw had a good hold on them and was heading to the bin to drop it and the claw jolted hard on the rail to the extent of the entire machine shaking from this jolt, then the prize dropped. This jolt and drop happened around 7 times. Many times we thought we won, but it jolted, and dropped the prize. So I think they let everyone win initially to create good reviews and buzz and then reprogrammed the machines to a high payout, or to jolt and drop them more. Under California law , claw machines are treated as skill-based amusement, not gambling machines, but today we spent $20, and by the end of it, felt more like a gamble then anything skill based. The place is kept clean, you load money to a card to play, the card readers on the machines worked well, and the control to move the claw, and button to lower the claw worked fine on all the machines. The attendant greeted us, and there were lots of nice prizes, and many lights on the machines, and the place was very bright, well lit. Hopefully they see this review, and make some modifications to the machines to ensure fair game play, and make them skill based. I think if you sink $20, you should walk away with a few cheap, small stuffed toys, not zero. read more

I believe I've been to the Riverside Kawaii Klaws over a dozen times at this point, just in the past year. Because of this, I fear my review will be lengthy but I hope it's helpful for some because overall, I love this place: The store is well-maintained, clean, and has a fun energy. The staff are always welcoming and helpful if needed, and mention any promotions going on. There's a decent number of machines; not a ton but also not too few. Every time I've visited, I've found at least 1-3 machines I wanted to play (sometimes it's nearly all which makes choosing impossible)! A new card is a $2 fee but can be reloaded as many times over, and it's the way to save prizes to your account for their trade-up system. I've kept so many plushies from playing, but I also recently traded up for the first time, and I love the concept. Every time I visit, I can have fun playing, winning a few prizes, and consider adding it to the "bank" or taking home with me. My fiancé and I stop by and usually spend $20-40. We start with $20 first and a few times we were super lucky and walked away with 5-6 prizes. Other times we come up empty-handed, and try another $20 just because that's the lowest loaded amount with bonus credits. Often times, we never spend the full $40 and will save it for our next visit. I've visited on busy weekend nights and random weekdays shortly after open and have found both luck and unlucky visits. Time of day/week doesn't really matter in my opinion, sometimes it's just about machines being close to payout or weight/size/material of the plush. Regardless, the staff are super helpful if you request a reposition of the machine that almost guarantees a win. In terms of selection, I liked what was available closer to when the store opened. Lots of Sanrio, Disney, Pokemon - unlicensed, but the quality is pretty good. Nowadays it's more unbranded plush like capybaras, veggies, animals, etc. They're still very cute, but I'd personally prefer a mix of both. Overall, I enjoy my time every visit I've made so far, and I think it's worth checking out if claws are your thing. It's the perfect middle-ground in my book, and my favorite spot to go to! read more

The air was thick and the smell was really strong, as if someone was smoking inside for a long period of time. The store should not have smelled of weed in the first place, and even more so since families and children come to visit. Unlike other arcades, it's very clean and well-lit so you don't have to worry about stepping on or tripping over something in the dark. I wouldn't say that it's rigged here. It's not as rigged as the claw machines in places like Round 1. Just keep in mind that some body forms of the plushies are easier to grab than others. Aim for the body, not the head! Came today, got two stuffed animals out of 5 people playing, each spending about $50 per person.
