Chris & Meredith, the new owners had big ideas. They excitedly mentioned some of the changes that they'd planned, including the new seating arrangements. Could that possibly work for our often crowded daily morning group? We weren't sure. But Chris has been accommodating and solicitous, and assured us that he'd make it work for us ~~ And he has. In addition, new yummy food offerings are now available; bagels & lox, avocado toast, yogurt parfaits, and overnight oats. (My husband's favorite) As before, the barristas are friendly, competent, and cheerful. The only change that disappoints me (and this is minor), is the placement of the baked goods. I used to derive great pleasure in watching the young children walk up to the pastry window at their eye level, as they would choose their favorite treat. Yes, change is hard, but the new owners have succeeded in continuing to make Acton Coffee the welcoming place we want to be every morning we're in town.

We got pumpkin spice waffles (mouth watering with the sauce), lox bagel, Mac and cheese, peanut butter cookie, and one of the wraps with chicken in it, I don't remember which. The lox bagel had cucumbers and chive spread instead of capers but it was really good. The cookie was nice and chewy and not too sweet. I also got a bag of coffee beans to try later at home that I'm looking forward to. Everything we ate was tasty and came out in a few minutes even though they were so busy. I will definitely be back. We were a group of 5 and ordered 3 pizzas. Everybody agreed they were bad. They should be ashamed to serve these. Didn't anybody notice leaving the kitchen they were unservable? So I would never consider here for take-out. But we were here for trivia night so maybe I'd try again to have something to eat while playing? But next time if they come out like that I'd be refusing delivery and demanding a new one - that's for sure. As far as the trivia, I might not return for that either. The room was very loud from the crowd, and the announcer's microphone never did work properly so it was very hard to hear. My family and I discovered them a couple of years ago, tucked under the West Acton Village building, and they've quickly become our favorite sandwich shop and gourmet cheese market. My son, who is in college always makes a point to get their sandwiches when he is back home. Their sandwiches are upscale, boutique creations. Our family favorite is the Ploughman's Lunch: rosemary ham, mango chutney, pickled red onion, cheddar, and lemony arugula on a Portuguese roll. It's the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and fresh. Our second go-to is the Pig and Fig, which is just as delicious. They also have gluten free bread available. In addition to the sandwiches, their cozy shop sells cheeses (if you love blue cheese you have got to try Rogue River!!), charcuterie, natural wines, craft beer, and carefully curated accompaniments like jams and chutneys. I've gifted their chic napkins and artisanal jams many times, and they always make the perfect host or hostess gift. They even carry unique finds like Bret's goat cheese and chili pepper potato chips, which I can't find anywhere else!
