Came up to see Duluth and ended up here for dinner and craft beer. We loved it! The place has a fun vibe; it's an old train statio. The pizza is fabulous and the beer was great. We enjoyed our lst time visit Thirsty Pages. the prices were a little pricey. the singer was good as well as our waiter. We had a $39.95 pizza as well as $17.95 gluten free pizza as well as the 4 beverages. the total bill was $79.95. When the waiter came with the bill and aluminum foil. We asked for a box, he said we couldn't give us one. One of the people in our party (- does that mean we have to finish our pizza here. ) We inquired why the people behind us got a box. -- The waiter says they get it to go, so they will have a box for leftovers. (I guess they know the drill.) By the way - the foil didn't even cover the leftover pizza. I guess we will go back to Sammy's Pizza - they have no rules for the Patrons. Man I wanted to lover this place. I really did. I've probably over hyped myself as I've had their beers around the twin cities and have heard all sorts of good things but.... So I did a flight of sours and they were pretty tasty and were good for that moment. I'm kind of a sour beer fiend and while they were good, I didn't leave with any. I did grab a growler of the Saison but overall, nothing was really freaking me out. If I didn't want to fill an empty growler to share, I would've been ok with leaving with no beer, which is kind of a weird thing for me to write. People have always said, you gotta try the pizza. Like the saying goes, when in Superior, WI..... So a straight up sausage and onion is my benchmark whenever I try a new pizza. It's simple and I've had a lot of pizza to compare it against so it is kind of my old faithful, And you know what? I don't need to have their sausage onion again. Sauce was ok. Crust was ok. It was all just ok. I think I need to try one of their specialty za's as that pesto one sounds really good. Will I be back? Definitely. Their beer menu is always changing so you'll never know what's on tap and the place has a great feel to it. It is accommodating to large groups or a single dude like myself which is nice. read more

I gave them 2 stars for the food, it was good but the place is so noisy it was difficult to have a conversation at our table. We found this at the original location and tried the new location in Superior and found the same issue. They really need some soft surfaces to muffle the sounds of chairs dragging across the floor and conversations at other tables. They also charge a $1.00 "convenience" fee to pay by debit or credit card. We won't be back. read more

It's so nice to be back at the pagan. I'm a New Yorker so I don't take to mediocre pizza. The pagan pizza caters to my high standards while still keeping v midwestern with the flavors. And they have beer too! It's good. The last time I was here it was back in 15 and they were at the smaller old location. read more

Thirsty Pagan has been my family's favorite local pizza restaurant for at least 15 years. Everything on the menu that we've ever tried has been absolutely phenomenal. I see a lot of people on here have been complaining about the price and wait time. If you're looking for cheap and fast pizza, go to Little Caesar's and pick up a crappy hot and ready. People have forgotten about what going to an actual restaurant looks like. I promise the 45 minutes are worth the wait for a quality pie. The big pizzas cost $42, but I think considering the craft, quality, and sheer amount of food you get, it's really not that bad. The 18 inch can easily feed AT LEAST 3 people, so that's about $15 a person, the same cost for a meal as anywhere else. This pizza is so unique because they're big, thick, messy slices, like Detroit/Chicago style. If you're into thin crust, this probably isn't your scene. I recommend this place to any of our friends who visit the area. You can't stop in the Twin Ports without checking this place out!! read more

Ordered a cauliflower crust pizza and a large TPB. When I ordered, I requested that the Cauliflower crust not be burned as the last time we ordered it, but it was burnt and when they gave us the sauce it was cold. (The Cauliflower crust comes with sauce on the side.) The TPB did not have toppings up to the crust and also had very little sauce on it and the dough was way thicker than usual. We were also told it would be 30 minutes but ended up being 45 minutes. Not impressed with this last visit. read more

After walking around all day I happened upon this place and had myself a brew or two. I met two of the brewers and we traded brewery stickers then got down to business discussing what there favorite ales were in this establishment. I had a really good IPA followed by a Burnt Black which very good. I had a pizza to go and and it was pretty decent, but not the best I ever had. I would definitely return to Thirsty Pagan next time I'm out this way! read more

Fantastic all around. Top notch service and food! The ale is exceptional. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner, and on our way out we lingered in the parking lot to listen to the live music. We selected this place originally because they have a dog friendly patio, we went back with friends a second time because everything was amazing and we knew our friends would love it. Welcome to Superior, and Superior brewery this place is. If you find the line to the nearby Anchor Bar is too long, or you want a nice pre or post game beer, stop by and drink with the Thirsty Pagan. And their pizzas are quite good. I was pleasantly surprised at my visit here. It's a friendly environment with cool retro signs from this old creamery building. I liked the "pin-up" old timey pics in the men's room too. The BLT Pizza was great. Served in a steel pan, and great for sharing, and tasted great as leftovers the next day. They offer a great beer flight with a cool curved/arc serving tray board. They also have sours. My tasting notes are below: North Coast Amber - solid and tasty amber Derailed ale - their most famous brew is pretty solid. Great beer and nice servers, who recommended another brewpub on the next block, which was also great and had a nice beer garden, which I prefer no matter how cold it is these days. I was at the Pagan during midday on a Friday so it was pretty empty at least. It is in an old Soo Line station, but it's a working line so I got to see several trains pass by just a few feet away. Duluth/Superior is emerging as a micro-brewing enclave along Lake Superior, that's for sure. Thirsty Pagan Brewing is a super cool option, well worth the drive across the Bridge from Duluth. Two large pizzas (4 of us ate half of them) and three beers cost $75.00 + tip. Wow. The Stuffed mushrooms in cheese appetizer is the stuff of gourmet supper club wet dreams, beers original and exotic and the pizzas brain burning. All I can say is wow and congrats to this middle of nowhere slice of garlic and red pepper heaven. I had the TPB pizza and it was radically delicious. The service was slow and worth the relatively long wait. Come ready to drink a beer and a half before the food arrives. This place is a don't-miss original. read more

I tried the place on June 8 right after they opened at their new location. The pizza crust was dense and seemed undercooked. Perhaps it didn't rise enough. The toppings on the veggie pizza were not evenly distributed with some slices with a deep bed of onions and others with hardly any. I've eaten here before and loved the pizza - one of my favorites in the Twin Ports. I'll give them another shot once they've settled into their new location. Perhaps they're still adjusting to the new ovens and perhaps new cooks. But some quality control is needed at the new place. read more

Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat when we were in Duluth - great pizza, great beer and somewhat slow service. We had a wonderful time enjoying the delicious food and all the unique beers. A friend and I split the Chicken Alfredo Pizza and a flight of seasonal beers. The pizza was topped with red peppers, broccoli, spinach, chicken breast & homemade Alfredo sauce. All the fresh vegetables and the deliciously light Alfredo sauce made this a wonderful variation of deep dish pizza. It was perfectly filling but not too overwhelming and coma-inducing. The seasonal tasting flight was really fun with a huge variety of beers, from bourbon barrel blends to sours to pale ales. We used the pizza as a palate cleanser and had a great time tasting all the different brews. Totally worth driving all the way to Wisconsin for ;) read more
