Thlaco Taco Tijuanese #2 is a casual restaurant that specializes in Tijuana street tacos. It is a spacious dining room with plenty of seating. You place your order at the counter and also pick up your food. The food came out quickly. My husband had the asado tacos. The tortillas were handmade on site. The steak was grilled and tender. I had the Al Pastor burrito filled with rice , beans , avocado and salsa. It was so flavorful and huge. Good taco joint !

I stopped by for tacos with a friend last night, and it was a great time! The service was friendly and welcoming. It was pretty spacious inside. They gave us a sample of their al pastor straight off the vertical spit for us to try. They also let us sample a couple of their drinks, including aguas frescas. I opted for the taco dinner ($19.66, including tax), which includes three tacos of your choice, as well as beans and rice. I chose a mix of quesabirria, asada, and al pastor, because I wanted to try a little bit of everything. Everything is made fresh in-house, which is really cool. The tortillas were soft, and although the tacos were small, each taco was packed with delicious fillings. The rice had great flavor! I wish they had given it in a bigger container. Overall, it was a fun night catching up with my friend over tasty tacos. I grabbed a taco dinner to go for my partner.

We had a great experience at Thlaco Taco over the weekend. We've wanted to try them for a while and finally had the chance. This was for a late lunch - we arrived after 2 PM and there was one table in use when we arrived, so it was quiet. You go to the counter to order and to pick up your meal when it is ready. We both ordered three taco dinners. I had two Asadas and one Al Pastor, my partner had two Al Pastors and a Birria. We also shared a Pineapple-Mango Agua Fresca. Service was quick - and they make everything to order including fresh tortillas! First, the Agua Fresca was amazingly good. But the tacos - oh my they were outstanding. They were hot and very flavorful. The beans and rice were also tasty. The location is in a strip mall in Rolling Meadows. The restaurant is bright and airy with maybe 25 tables. The chairs are plastic and could be more comfortable, but they are still okay. Oh - I said in the beginning that there was only one table in use when we arrived. By the time we left not only were more tables full but there was a pretty good line at the order counter. We had a great time and excellent food - highly recommended.

I live in the SW burbs and drove 30 miles for these tacos. 10000000% worth it to the point where I dined in to eat and also got tacos to take home. Thlaco tacos continues to be a top 3 taco spot for me. This location is larger than their Hanover park location, at max capacity it seats 49. Service throughout was quick. Staff members make you feel like you're part of their family. They radiate warm and kind positivity. My cousin and I ordered at the front counter and when our orders were ready the number on our receipt was called. Since I also ordered tacos to go, a staff member actually walked it over to me when it was ready vs having me grab it while I was dining in. My favorites from here are basically all of them... haha! My usual taco order is: Al pastor, carne asada, and a quesa Birria. Everything is flavorful, moist, and cooked perfectly. Whatever you order from here, you can't go wrong. Literally try everythannnng. Tip - they have discounted pricing on certain items pending the day, Tuesdays - Thursdays.

Hubby found this place from TikTok. Glad we tried it, I got the TJ fries! AMAZING!!! Steak was good and had great flavor. My husband got asada and el pastor tacos and loved them. My mom was a little upset because she got a quesadilla and it didn't have a lot of cheese. A little on the expensive side, but they don't skimp you out on the meat so that's a plus!

Hands down the best Tijuana-style tacos in town! This newly opened branch of Thlaco Tacos is a game-changer. The Al Pastor tacos served from a rotating trompa meat topped with a slice of pineapple are so delicious But that's not all - the Mulitas are a specialty, resembling a quesadilla but made with freshly homemade tortilla. And the quesabirria? Amazing, but could use a bit more cheese, please! The space is huge and cozy, with plenty of parking available. Plus, they serve beer and vodka seltzers, with cocktails hopefully on the horizon.

This place is so good. Their Tijuana Style tacos are great. I had two steak tacos and a Side of beans Keep in mind these are street tacos so they run a little on the smaller side. They come with a fresh made corn tortilla. It is counter service and they turn the food out pretty quick. Everything is fresh and delicious. My only hang up with the place is they won't give you a free cup of water. They are a fairly new restaurant and I'm hoping someone from management reads this and revises this policy

We were able to snag a back table so not loud and we can hear the whole table. We started with the Hearts of Palm salad to share. It was perfect to share with three people as a starter and we all loved the lemon vinaigrette. For entrees - I got the thin crust Garden Pizza special - artichokes, pesto, pine nuts, other veggies. I thought it was delicious and it reheated very nicely the next day. Others at the table - got the salmon, sausage pizza and spicy vodka pasta. Everyone enjoyed. Our server (AJ) was fabulous and joked with the table - he made the experience enjoyable as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. While we're not in Arlington Heights often, it is a place I would recommend.

The hostess appeared wearing a blue-and-white striped sweater hanging off one shoulder like she'd stepped out of an Italian perfume commercial. Around her neck was one of those little cornicello pepper necklaces, dangling just enough to suggest fate had finally decided to throw me a bone. Blue eyes. Not "blue." The kind of blue sailors used to abandon families over. She laughed at one of my jokes. That was all the encouragement my diseased brain required. I immediately conducted a full tactical assessment of the restaurant. The P.O.A. Index... ...was approaching DEFCON 1. Every direction I looked was another devastatingly attractive waitress carrying Aperol Spritzes with effortless confidence. It was like wandering into a government-funded supermodel relocation program. Then... A shadow fell across the table. A man. Our waiter was a man. Christ Almighty. The emotional whiplash nearly snapped my neck. It's like going to the zoo hoping to see lions and discovering the enclosure has been replaced with an accountant named Kevin. There are beautiful women everywhere, and somehow I'm discussing pasta recommendations with a guy who probably knows three different olive oils by taste. Cruel. Absolutely cruel. To his credit, the b@5tard was outstanding. Friendly. Fast. Knew the menu inside and out. Kept the drinks full. Never interrupted. The s.o.b. gave me absolutely nothing to complain about, which only deepened my resentment. The food, meanwhile, was infuriatingly good. The pizzas arrived looking like they'd been blessed by an Italian grandmother carrying unresolved anger from 1947. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just enough char to remind you that ovens are supposed to flirt with fire, not electricity. The pasta had that unmistakable handmade texture that makes Olive Garden feel like a felony. The cocktails disappeared with alarming speed. By my third Negroni, I was convinced I could hear Dean Martin narrating my life. Walking out, I glanced back toward the hostess one last time. She smiled. For approximately three seconds I considered abandoning my entire life to become a part-time sommelier with absolutely no qualifications. Then reality returned. The male waiter handed me the check. Four stars. The food was phenomenal. The cocktails were dangerous. The hostess should be classified as an Italian national treasure. And our waiter deserves a raise... despite committing the unforgivable crime of existing between me and the waitresses.

We reserved to be at the Chef's counter which was not ready at the time of our reservation, that was no problem for us - and the hosts offered us a different table if we wanted it, but we did want to eat at the counter so we wanted to wait. We looked at the menu and decided while we wait we would go grab a drink at the bar. There were no open chairs at the bar and people were standing around the area as well so my girlfriend walked over to the side of the bar to order drinks near the spot where servers will pick up drinks at the bar counter. My gf was not in the way or anything and the bartender points at her in disgust and says "you cannot stand there you need to move". Not one moment of this did he look friendly or happy to serve a customer. My gf stood there for another 5 minutes, neither of the 2 bartenders acknowledged her, or said they would be right with her, they even took an empty glass of a customer at the bar and asked them if they wanted another. Both my gf and I have held jobs involving customer service. I have worked in restaurants for many years of my life when I was a younger adult. We are reasonable and patient people. The Prospect claims to be classy and fine dining, which I will say, the ambiance is wonderful, but your customer service sucks. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for" and this does not match. I hope you treat other customers with more care in the future.

We made a reservation because I'd heard this place can get pretty busy. Although it didn't seem too crowded when we first arrived on a Saturday, it filled up quickly throughout our meal. I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you're planning to come for dinner. As soon as we walked in, I was struck by how beautiful the restaurant is. Since the building was once a church, they preserved the stained-glass windows and cathedral ceilings, which give the space so much character. We ended up sitting on the patio because it was a gorgeous day, but I definitely want to come back and dine inside so I can fully appreciate the interior. The patio was modern, spacious, and completely shaded, making it very comfortable. Since it's located right next to the little lake, we also enjoyed a nice breeze throughout our meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive overall, but there was one moment that stood out. My friend's baby accidentally knocked over a full glass of iced coffee, spilling it all over my friend's lap and onto the floor. The waitress watched as my friend cleaned up the mess herself but didn't offer to help or replace the spilled drink. Aside from that, the service was good. My friends and I all ordered something different, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the salmon poke bowl ($19), which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The ingredients tasted high quality, and all the flavors worked really well together. It was more filling than I was expecting! Price-wise, I expected the menu to be more expensive than it actually was. I'm sure dinner prices are higher, especially for steak and seafood, but the brunch menu was quite reasonable. Most breakfast and brunch dishes range from $12-$20, making it a great value for both the quality of the food and the beautiful atmosphere.
