I sought out consultations, and Dr. Barnes definitely stood out from the rest. First off, he returned my call personally, which surprised me. Secondly, he didn't charge me for a consultation and he saw me the next day. Thirdly, rather than telling me what I needed to have done, he listened attentively as I told him what I wanted done. He didn't rush me, and when I was finished he told me the best course of action to take to achieve my desired look. He recommended a platysmaplasty and an extended neck lift. Another surgeon I had consulted with suggested a face lift, which would not have addressed the waddle under my chin. He told me he would not use general anesthesia, whereas the other surgeon said he would, and I thought this was a huge plus. I decided to go with Dr. Barnes, and it is the best decision I could have made. From the beginning, he showed care and concern for me as a patient. He was very focused and professional, and it's apparent that he knows what he's doing; the results speak for themselves. A few years ago, I got the chin lipo. Mine was mostly for forming jowls and a tiny fat pad under my chin that came the year before due to a little weight gain. I thought about this procedure and looked into it for over a year before I decided to do it. I was scared to do anything this evasive. It turns out it didn't hurt at all, the procedure was over within one to two hours and I was numbed for a prolonged period of time to assure that I would feel no pain.Dr Barnes was really nice and he worked hard to do the procedure on me. It made my jawline much tighter and the little tiny bit of jowls I had was gone. I even see my face looking more like myself /toned lower face- just from the tightening the laser did on the inside of my jaw and neck. I cannot recommend Dr Barnes enough. I appreciated he fact that I was offered a virtual consult due to the hazards of the pandemic. That began the trust built with Dr Barnes. After talking in depth with me (and getting a second opinion) I decided to move forward with my procedure. I have suffered the effects of aging in my face and neck, leaving me looking older than I am. Dr Barnes minimal approach to begin also made me feel comfortable. Asking what I thought was needed and hearing his evaluation, what I thought I needed wasn't as in depth as I had first thought. On the day of my appointment (yesterday) I was the only one in the office and surgical suite. I was also given a Covid test before being taken in the back. Wow! Dr Barnes is 110 percent complying with regulations to provide a safe environment for patients, himself and his staff. The caring demeanor carried over into my pre-op. Dr Barnes once again spent a lengthy amount of time going through my medical history and explaining the entire procedure and answering my questions. He assured me if I wasn't happy or if he wasn't happy with the results he would make it right. His assistant Cindy was so wonderful calming my nerves. The worst part of the procedure was the numbing. I'm not kidding. After I was numb, if I felt even the slightest bit of pain I was given more numbing. Dr Barnes and Cindy talked me through the entire procedure as it was happening. Before I knew it, we were done. Dr Barnes even removed a pesky more on my ear that had been bothering me-gratis! What Dr does that? Dr Barnes does. I was shocked to see how quickly my results were visible, how little pain I had and I was fully coherent to go home. (No anesthesia) My body could put its efforts into healing instead of purging out anesthetic. Dr Barnes spent a good amount of time with my caregiver for the evening stocking her up with barrier pads, gauze and surgical towels to make sure I would be getting the best results outside his office. Both myself and my caregiver were given Dr Barnes personal cell phone in case there were any problems overnight (there were none). Dr Barnes checked in on me several times that evening and first thing the next morning. I was seen in Dr Barnes office the next day for a dressing change and check by Dr. Barnes. I cried I was so happy. Absolutely amazing. Minimal, minimal bruising and pain (only taking Tylenol) and again reassured Dr Barnes would be available for me if I had any issues and given the schedule when he would be checking in with me. Cindy was as gentle as possible removing the dressings and wonderful going over my wound care protocol and shower instructions. The pics below are my pre-and post op pics. Dr Thomas Barnes did tickle liposuction on me 6 days ago and the results are excellent and natural. I am very happy. Since I was a teenager I had man boobs (gynocomastia) and a fat gut and now it's gone. I am so happy and relieved. A total of 2 liters of fat was removed. my chest is sculpted to looks great and my stomach is contoured perfectly. I've done years of diet and exercise but nothing worked until I saw Dr Barnes. I feel that I paid a fair price. Especially since Dr Barnes has 20 years experience and it was done right the first time. I really liked: 1. I was able to stay awake with local anesthesia. Less risk than going under. 2. Tickle lipo created the least internal damage to blood vessel and nerves compared to older techniques. 3. With Dr Barnes experience and confidence he was able to guarantee a positive result with me. Meaning if something wasn't right he said he would fix it after 4 months at no extra charge. He was rushing my surgery because he had another one waiting outside I feel he wasn't fair to me he spent like 5 hours doing nothing ... and then rush my surgeryI think .... ¡¡ ALL HE WANTED WAS MY MONEY !! And not only that !! My body is completely DISFIGURED BAD EXPERIENCE NIGHTMARE!! I ended up with a hole ON MY LEFT JOW where he took a lot of fat ... a horrendous upper and lower abdomen Arms disfigured ... they don't look normal !! armpits uneven ¡¡¡ He didn't took the time to do it right !!! By what I experience he doesn't know to do liposuccion At all ... He's not and expert of fat transfer to butt I told him clearly what I wanted ! And he did ¡¡ WHAT HE WANTED !! I don't even know were he inject the fat but My butt looks the same has before That's not fair I pay for a service that's not been dont the right way !! I told him about it again ... he told me that there wasn't enough fat to take from me ... ¡¡WHAT !!! He didn't explain that before i pay for the services ... If i had known before i wouldn't pay for the surgery at all. ¡¡ HES SO ARROGANT THAT CAN'T TAKE HES FAULT !! I have uneven neck liposuccion I have more fat on my left side ... I talk to him about it and ask for a refund!! All this work of him was not fair!!! He's selling something that he can't accomplish ... He's answer was ... I dont give refunds and I do good work !! Are you kidding me!!! He told me if something was not right he would fixed.. But now I'm scared to go through all I went through and scared to look worse and can not be fixable I pay for my mid back to be lipo... but at the surgery doctor Thomas forgot to do it cause he had another patient waiting outside I talked to him about my mid back was not done at the day of the surgery.. but he doesn't accepted in his mind he did perform the surgery and he would find any excuse to tell me so I stop asking thank God he did do it but why I have to pay for something he didn't do??? I don't have any scars on my back that are visible to say he preform surgery to my mid back at all . And I still have my rolls of fat on my back. I have my before and after pictures I will posted on this page !! Thanks to Thomas Barnes there's no summer for me !! i don't know if the good reviews of Thomas Barnes page are fake just to get customers !! BUT BEWARE!!! I don't recommend this doctor he's done a lot of damages to my body... Instead of feeling good of my self I feel sad and depress !! He's just another arrogant surgeon! Please consider this review when choosing your plastic surgeon. Dr. Barnes is lovely, caring, interested, and sounds like he knows his "art" before you sign your contract. But the aftercare is horrendous. You hear, "You look so great," and "Oh my God, you look fantastic!" every time you return for a followup visit (from Nina and Deborah, his only two staff), but in the meantime you are thinking, "I don't look great at all. I look almost the same as I did before: tired and OLD." Dr. Barnes talked me into a half-face lift: neck and jowls, and an eye lift (an extra two grand). I called him a few days before the surgery, worried about having my ears cut, wanting to reduce the surgery to just the neck lipo, and he, again, reassured me that I should not only do the neck lipo, but also the jowl lift. Now, I have two large tendons sticking out--very noticeable--on my neck, terrible loose, flabby jowls (which was my main concern when I went in to get this done in the first place), and I still have dark, deep circles and a tired look. I cannot tell what was done, except that I have Frankenstein scarring all around my ears to the bone in back of my ears. Not only that, the scars HURT. It has been almost nine weeks, and I am feeling betrayed, lied to, and NOT cared about whatsoever. Dr. Barnes has not reassured me that he will do something to fix these concerns. I have sent two emails with details of my concerns and a request to meet with Dr. Barnes privately, and he is not responding. I am going to ask for a full refund. I should have gone to Dr. Sadati, whom my friend had her Lifestyle Lift with. The work he did on her was flawless, and her recovery was MUCH smoother than mine. I am SO upset that I didn't go for my consultation with Sadati, I am sick about how much I paid Dr. Barnes for this, and very depressed about the results of this surgery. And, the other reviewer was right when she said Dr. Barnes does not repect his patients' time; he flits from one room to another, back and forth, juggling patients at the same time, so no one feels like he/she is receiving 100% of his attention at a time. Dr. Barnes ruined my skin forever which has profoundly affected my life. After a health issue that left my body very toxic, I broke out with cystic acne on my face. Dr. Barnes assured me that aggressive extraction was the best solution. Within about a week, my husband and I were appalled when we noticed my previously normal skin started becoming deeply depressed in spots where Dr. Barnes had "treated" me. I had been dealing with the acne for several months, spots would come and go leaving nothing behind. It wasn't until Dr. Barnes' aggressive extraction that I was left with residual deep depression scars. It has been many years, and they just look worse with age. Coming to Dr. Barnes to have an awake neck lipo laser was the best decision I ever made! He is truly the best!! Not only did he take his time to explain the procedure and calm me before the surgery, but he checks on his patients afterwards and answers questions immediately.
