We paid someone to replace the floor in 2022, but after a year, the LVP started peeling. They wouldn't stand by their work and instead offered to charge us for something they should've fixed at the time. Matthew from ACE Plumbing looked at the floor, identified the problem, and pointed out other (now obvious) issues leading that were leading to the feeling that the home was kinda falling apart. We initially asked for just the floor to be fixed, and other contractors only quoted us for the band aid solutions we thought we needed. However, Matt dug deeper and discovered rot in the siding, a leaking roof, and deteriorating walls, among other challenges. We chose Matt and ACE Plumbing over four other contractors because he was communicative, always available to answer questions, and proactive in giving advice that would save us trouble in the long run. Since we don't live in the home, Matt and his crew kept us up to date with photos and phone calls. As issues came up, he informed us of the process needed to resolve them. Throughout the entire process, we felt we were in the hands of professionals. Matt was able to describe the problems with our beautiful but old house, outline our options for a fix, and provide a timeline that worked for us. Another benefit was that Matt didn't just contract out the work we paid him good money for. He was on-site, getting dirty with his crew and taking videos to answer our questions. They are very thoughtful and attentive to their customers. Let me tell you about the awesomeness…read more Okay, first I had to re-attach a radiator that shady contractor had secretly left detached (it was hidden with the radiator cover) and had some stripped threads on one of the valves. I was getting estimates telling me I needed to replace all of this piping in my house, rip up the walls, etc. Mr. Wills just came in and re-attached the radiator, putting on a new valve. And at an extremely good price. Then he came out and snaked some old drain piping in the kitchen and while he was here I asked him to give me a quote on replacing a boiler re-circulation pump. It was making a lot of noise. He gave me an excellent quote on replacing it if needed but not only that, he explained to ME how to do it if I wanted to do it myself. Other plumbing companies do this condescending thing if they've found out I've tried to do some of the work myself to save money, like "See, little woman? You failed and that's why you're having problems in the first place." Mr. Wills even talked to me about socket wrenches to use and such. But before he left, he just started knocking around on the pump a bit and the noise reduced significantly, to almost a negligible amount. I may still need to replace it, but at this point, I may not. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

I call wondering if he is still coming, and Dan gives me the old "I was getting ready to call you" reply. I know BS when I hear it, but, ok, just get here. Dan didn't show until 9:40, no apology given. (This was the reason I gave him a thumbs down on reliability.) In terms of service, Dan was friendly, and performed the task of unclogging my sinks in a timely manner. Something to remember: he only takes cash or check. No credit cards, which is especially strange in this day and age. Value for the job was as expected. While his tardiness was somewhat annoying and unprofessional, I was very satisfied with his work.
