If all you need is a battery replacement for your watch, this is apparently the place to go. The vast majority of the five-star reviews involve only a battery replacement, which, let's be honest, is not "watch repair," nor is it even difficult. I took my watch in to have the bracelet repaired, as the fold-over clasp was broken. It was something I thought would be relatively simple, since it didn't involve any of the internals of the movement. Thomas was very polite and explained he was unable to repair/replace the bracelet or clasp. Maybe he was intimidated by the task since it wasn't the standard Mickey Mouse Casio that just needed a battery. And before you jump to conclusions thinking, "Oh, this must have been a rude customer and that's probably why Thomas declined service," you're wrong. Thomas won't even remember me because our conversation was very polite and brief. Whatever the reason, I no longer had any confidence in his actual "watch repair" abilities. read more

I went to two jewelry/ watch repair stores before trying Thomas. One charged me $30 dollars and said they changed the batteries saying they did not promise the watch would work and the watch didn't work. The other wanted to charge me $225 to "fix my watch" (much more than I paid for it 5 years ago). So I came to Thomas and he said it was probably the batteries. Brought in a watch that needed its battery changed. Another jewelry store closer to me couldn't open it. Thomas installed the battery in minutes at a reasonable price. Later, I came back in because the watch stopped working. It was my own fault for reinserting the crown/stem incorrectly. Fast, cheap and good - it doesn't get much better than Thomas when it comes to watch repair. I visited after reading all the glowing Yelp reviews, including from many other Yelp Elites I trust. Allow me to add my five star review to the many others. I needed the battery on my good old Charriol replaced, but had been putting it off as I didn't want to spend a pretty penny at a proper jewelry store, nor did I trust the cheap mall kiosks. I finally did what I should have done years ago and looked up Yelp (cue forehead slapping moment... SLAP!) - Thomas Watch Repair was clearly the top rated establishment in the area. For $10.99, Thomas replaced my battery while I waited (took 10 minutes or so) - he took a look at all the watch mechanisms as well, pointing one part of the chronometer that didn't work, and admitting he didn't know why. I liked his honesty, because I'd given up on getting that part of the watch fixed a long time ago, reasoning that my lap timing days were well in the rear view mirror, and that it wasn't worth shipping my watch to Charriol HQ in Switzerland for their gnomes to take a look at it. I have a few other watches that need batteries (less expensive ones I bought when my Charriol stopped working) and I'll be taking them to Thomas as well. Simple size adjustment took about 5 minutes. Thomas was friendly and professional. Adjustment was a little on the pricey side coming in at $20, just off the main downtown area convenience comes at a little higher cost. I would go back for other watch adjustment, repairs, and parts needs. read more

This gentleman knows customer service! I contacted Thomas by email, to ask if he thought it was worth repairing my Citizen dive watch. He responded promptly and suggested I bring it in. I showed up the next day, he has a sign in the window asking you to call his number and he will come out. He took my watch and came back in just a few minutes to show me it wasn't broken, I simply didn't know how to set the time correctly! He took the time to demonstrate how to use this rather complicated timepiece, and even told me how to find the manual online. After all this, he wouldn't take payment - no charge.
