Bought a car from Thompson BMW with the worst salesman David Dembrosky. I test drove the car and as soon as I hit the breaks, the rear pads started squeaking. I mentioned the brakes and David didn't say anything after I asked if they could be replaced. A few moments later he insisted that I have 20,000 miles life left on the pads. I bought the car and that's all David cared about. I live in Maryland, so when I got the MD inspection, I failed. I failed due to a leaking rh front strut , a leaking rear differential, missing lift pads, and almost due to my rear brakes. I called the dealership and asked to speak with David Dembrosky. I told him that I had failed MD inspection and I was still clearly under the 1,000 warranty. David then stated these issues don't fall under warranty and remanded quite when I had asked, this is how your business sells cars? At least 20 seconds go by with David silent and he hung up on me. I could go on, but bottom line...if you live in MD I suggest you don't buy a car from here. Although they took care of the issues, I don't think it would have been handled without me posting my review that they asked for me to delete. The service technicians are quick to work on the car, especially when you're waiting, and there's a comfortable service lounge inside if you elect to not take one of their BMW loaner cars. I had a leak in my trunk. Thompson could not find the Cause. They wanted to rip the whole interior out of the car, Which would've cost me thousands of dollars. My local mechanic found the problem which was water getting getting in from the rear lights. They fixed it for $75 and I haven't had a problem since. I went into to buy a 2014 BMW 328ix Drive Gran Turismo. I worked with Tom Harrelson, as he took us on a test drive of the car. He seemed to be a great guy, charming, honest and to the point...too bad he turned out to be like every other car salesman I have ever dealt with. We sat down and discussed what our options were and I told him I don't play games and that I want his lowest price out of the door. If it was lower than any other dealership, the sale was his. The next day, I get back to him and he beat everyone else by a mile INCLUDING TAX...I should have known it was too good to be true. I asked him one more time if this was the price out the door and he said yes. I told him I would take it. I get the paperwork faxed to me and what do I see...the total price is 5 grand more than he originally quoted. In typical lying, sneaky fashion he tried to gouge me hoping I wouldn't notice the difference. He left a voicemail apologizing for the 'mistake,' but I will never ever shop at that dealership again and told him to cancel the order. Scratched wheels, damaged tires and poor quality work is there specialty. When I tried to appeal to them to correct what they had done wrong, there response was that they don't do anything wrong because they are perfect. I purchased a two year old off lease low miles fully loaded X3 from another dealer. The savings were huge. I saved the 20% new car hit driving off the lot. BMW offers one of the best warranties in the business. Included is their maintenance warranty which covers everything for four years. Sadly they have now greatly limited this for the 2017 models. It's now only three years with many limitations. I was able to take advantage of the previous maintenance warranty which I used at Thompson BMW. The service dept treated me very well. Easy to get an appointment with a short wait time. Nice customer lounge with a wide screen TV and complimentary car wash. I paid almost nothing for routine maintenance which can be expensive when the warranty expires. I will continue to use them for service. read more

Here goes the lengthiest, most unsatisfactory experience of my life. I purchased a 2013 CPO BMW 328i XDrive a few weeks ago and I have received possibly the worst customer service experience of my life. I dealt with Rob, a seemingly nice and knowledgable salesperson until after the papers were signed and I never heard from him again. The sales process itself took about five trips to the dealership (and not for lack on my part, my mind was set). I traded in an old vehicle and put a small down payment on the car. The salesman forgot to collect the title and my down payment at the time of purchase and tried to have me pay by credit card over the phone with him which I was not comfortable with. So I had to waste my time and gas to go to Doylestown to deliver what he failed to collect. Problem number 2, the second key for my vehicle was for some reason in the possession of the previous owner and Rob had to "hunt him down" for it which made me very uneasy about my decision. The key was finally brought to me 3 days after the purchase of my vehicle and multiple trips to the dealership. Problem number 3, there were a few dents and chips in the vehicle which I was told would be fixed and they weren't so I scheduled a service (paid for by BMW) in order to fix these blemishes. The service guy who came to pick up my car was an hour and a half late which subsequently made me late to work. The following day they brought my car back to me and it didn't look like it was touched, so I sent the car back and got an attitude from the service department. Finally today I called to see when my car would be ready and apparently it was ready, but I didn't receive any notification for it. The car is back in my possession now and they finally did the work, but they drove my car back and forth 6 times between Bensalem, Doylestown and Horsham and didn't even have the common courtesy to fill up my gas tank and delivered it to me on "E". I'm appalled and amazed about how they treat customers and how disorganized they are. I will never ever purchase another vehicle at one of their establishments and I'll make sure everyone I know will also be aware. read more

Returned my leased 528i today at the end of my 3 year lease. Was met there by a guy named John who purported to conduct end of the lease inspection. After a 15 minute search around and inside my car he presented me with $650 bill- $300 for s hairline scratch at the very bottom of the side panel on the passenger side that neither me or my girlfriend could even see. Keep in mind that the car is 3 years old and spotless as far as we were concerned. In addition they charged $350 disposition fee that no one there told me about upfront when I called to arrange the return. Don't want to say I will never lease or buy another BMW but will never again deal with Thompson for sure. read more

I had the pleasure of finding the best BMW sales rep in the country at this dealership in Denise Rossi. I had a unique situation in that I was traveling from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania for this vehicle. That alone proved difficult with timing and logistics but the biggest hurdle was finding someone who was willing to work with my out of state tribal citizenship for sales tax purposes. I wasn't willing to pay out of state 6-9% sales tax when my tribe only makes me pay 1.5% for sales tax. To make things even more difficult, this market is nuts right now with extremely limited inventory. I was lucky to not only find the car with the options I wanted, at a price I wanted, from a stellar, customer service orientated sales rep who made this deal happen by getting the title company, tribal tag agency and the dealership all on the same page. Without her this wouldn't have been possible. They got me in and out once I got there in record time. It was a great buying experience and I would not hesitate to do business with Denise and/or Thompson BMW in Doylestown, PA again. Highly recommended!!! read more

I really try not to judge a company based off of reviews and try to give a honest opinion on my own which sometimes comes back to bite me in the keester as it did with my Thompson BMW experience .. they clearly have the wrong person running their service department .. I will leave him nameless for this review but a quick recap on my experience .. brought my vehicle in for some issues I was having ..explained I have an extended warranty with a third party company ..was told by the nameless parts manager it wouldn't be covered which in fact was.. Went to pick up my vehicle at which time I was told I have to pay $155.00 diagnostic fee outside of my $50 deductible (which is all I ever paid for approved repairs under my warranty. Once I explained to the gentleman he raised his voice and basically yelled " that's what it is and I will take it off but next time just know you will be paying that" .. so I contacted the warranty company and was told they in fact paid my diagnostic fee as they always have in the past so I feel as though they tried to take advantage. So with that being said u can most likely trust all the negative service department reviews because they (he) is just that bad ..wish I did. read more

This review is specific to Thompson BMW and their service department, in particular working with Matt Bean from Thompson BMW service ( BMW Performance). I've been going to Thompson BMW for service since I purchased my first BMW from them in 2011. In addition, they also service my Wife's BMW X5. Any time I have a question or issue with either of my vehicles I call Matt. I know how busy Matt is because I'm constantly referring customers to him, but he always takes my call or returns my call. In addition, Matt is extremely knowledgeable about the BMW product line and intricacies of these cars. I recently called Matt to describe an issue I was having with my car. This was an issue that had popped up once before but was difficult to replicated. Instead of giving me the standard " bring it in and we'll see if we can replicate it", Matt went online to research the issue and found that BMW had released a Technical service bulletin (TSB) covering the issue. Within 10-15 minutes after calling him, Matt called me back to explain the TSB, asked me to bring my car it in at my convenience and offered me a loaner. In addition, Matt is extremely detail oriented and respectful of my vehicles. He expects the technicians working on my vehicles to always take proper care and ensure my vehicle is returned on time, with the work completed correctly the first time and for the price he's quoted me. Never use this service Department. They told me that they could not repair a turn signal light on the front of my car and they had to replace the whole light housing unit at a cost of $1,800. We priced an BMW part on line and found it for $922 when they told me that they would charge $1,400 for the same part. On top of that they "forgot" to wash the car after they had it all day. They are a rip off and I will never go back there. read more

I have been driving BMWs for 30+ years. I've owned an awful lot of them that were purchased from a wide variety of dealerships. Without a doubt, Thompson BMW is the best of them all, from start to finish. The sales people are knowledgeable, courteous and really know their stuff. Try to make you way to Kerrie Greene, their resident "genius;" She knows more about the workings and specs of these cars than do the gnomes in Munich. And she has none of the pushy, off-putting manner of salespeople at other places. Another shout out to the General Manager, Dennis Kelly. He is honest, straightforward and a pleasure to work with. The entire sales team makes spending your money as pleasant as that task can be. But there are other reasons to go to Thompson for your BMW needs. The service people and the service facility itself are top notch. They respect your time, your car, and your wallet. Loaners, shuttles to home or where ever, decent coffee and great pastries if you're going to wait. Again, the place is staffed with great folks. Go see Andi Glassmyer, and know you are in the best hands possible. I'm going to continue to buy all types of BMWs for as long as I can drive. But one thing that won't vary is where I buy them. This dealership does not even deserve a star absolutely atrocious service a few weeks ago i went to look at a used car and made a appointment for 4 and didnt even get helped till atleast 4:45 the lady was working with someone else and i could tell they were frustrated with the service too. Next we try to sit down and talk numbers and she had absolutely no information about anything continuously went back to ask her manager which took atleast 15+ min everytime and would always come back with a dull answer. I put a down payment on the vehicle foolishly and said i would come back the next day or so to pick up the car and keep in mind i live out of state and as my appointment approaches she calls me and said my papers didnt match her requirements when before she said it was all set to go, at this point i was fed up with the BS and pulled out of the deal. Further along I requested for a refund of my initial down payment to hold the car and here i am a few weeks later and a couple"its processing " texts later without my money luckily i found the car i wanted with no BS at another BMW. Wish there was a no star because that would be an accurate review. Brought 2014 BMW in 2 months ago as engine light was on. There was a leak 2500$ later leak was fixed. Engine light comes on again. Take in for service. Nothing wrong. The gas cap just was not on tight. Good news right? Well not when they gave me a bill for 150$! For a diagnosis. What? So as a customer I am to take hours of my time to bring in a supposedly high quality vehicle when the engine light comes on to find out nothing is wrong just a loose cap? Really? BMW needs to fix it and pay me for my time for their piss poor engineering. Add a gas cap light to the dash perhaps. And don't charge your customers for a problem in manufacturing. And one last thing, Mr. Thompson you might want to diagnosis your service departments lack of people skills. A good afternoon with a smile could be a start. Taking my thousands elsewhere. Since then, I've been going to Thompson for all of my service and aftermarket/parts-related needs. Matt Bean and the rest of the Thompson crew have provided my wife and I with exceptional customer service; they are polite, courteous, and always accommodating. Even though I live closer to several other BMW dealerships, I would not consider going anywhere else. I recently purchased a CPO 3 series from Thompson and am very happy with the decision on the car as well as the dealership. I had visited another dealer in the area and they seemed very much like an old fashioned car dealer in that they wanted to play games and give a hard sell. That was not the case with Thompson. I bought one of the lightly used cars off their lot. While I love my vehicle, the experience with Thompson bmw and the representative they paired us with was absolutely terrible. Steve was condescending and rude- he even left a voicemail on my phone one week after my purchase that was 2 minutes long and sounded like he was yelling at a child not a customer. The car was originally overpriced but we agreed on a number and financing plan, he even brought out the agreements to sign, then required a down payment over 3x the amount we agreed upon and a total of 1/3 of the car's price. If the vehicle weren't unique in its looks, that is when I would have turned and walked out of there. Upon review of our final paperwork, I did notice that Steve had us sign for the middle offer he had given us NOT our final agreement. Shady practice to watch out for! The vehicle's check engine light also came on ~24hrs off the lot, it was a minor replacement part but the mechanic said Thompson BMW had likely just reset the warnings before my test drive and driving it home which is why it only showed the next day. TL,DR; never buy from Thompson BMW and ESPECIALLY not a used vehicle or with Steve Borghi. read more

I'm giving this a rating of 2 because of how I was handled when dropping off my BMW for a recalled passenger airbag. The men outside who took my car and delivered my loaner were great and especially friendly, but the service guy at the front desk is the individual who made my experience a poor one. He was short with me and not particularly friendly, he treated me as if I was a teenager... I'm in my mid-twenties. He gave me a Toyota Camry as a replacement car, when a nice old lady next to me at another service rep (and who arrived just as I was finishing up) received a BMW. I needed a used car for my girlfriend and i didn't want to pay a lot . my salesmen was Rob. i told him what i wanted to spend and what i didn't want to spend. we searched for some cars and found two. we test drove them and i wasn't really happy with the choices and he went back to see what just came in. not all cars are on the lot as they are not ready yet but he found this mazda s3 which wasn't quite ready but he got it ready for the test drive. it was great and we bought that one and rob got me great financing. the car today hasn't had a problem at all. its great and she loves it. i would only go here to buy a used car. rob really cared it seemed and i think i'm a pretty good judge of character and without his help who knows what i would have gotten, maybe a disaster but we got a great car at a great price and great financing. I recently purchased an X5 from Thompson BMW, I can honestly say that I was somewhat apprehensive at first because being an out of state Buyer and never having dealt with Thompson before can sometimes end up being a disaster. This was my third out of state purchase and this was my smoothest one of all. Those orginal feeling were quickly diminished. I had been searching for a specific vehicle color combination and states and with specific options, my search included 5 states and I fortunately found what I had been looking for at Thompson. I found Thompson to be exactly what I would expect from a dealer in the purchase of a vehicle. They were excellent and I found the salesman (Job Ridgway) fantastic to deal with and was excellent in every way. Rob went out of his way to make sure I was a satisfied customer when I left. I am a very picky customer when I purchase a vehicle, I can honestly say I had a pleasurable purchase experience. I found every dept I dealt with finance, service etc to be excellent, professional, and courteous.
