I negotiated a lease with Thompson Chevrolet Buick GMC over a two‑week period. The finance manager sent me three written lease agreements, all showing the same residual value and terms. Based on these documents, I completed a credit application and scheduled a pickup appointment. After approval, the dealership informed me that the residual value they had used in all three agreements was incorrect and rescinded the deal. This occurred after my credit was pulled and after I had turned down other offers. The dealership had multiple opportunities to identify the error before sending repeated agreements and running my credit. This experience was unprofessional and caused unnecessary inconvenience. read more

Upon picking my vehicle, I realized that some personal items were missing from the inside of my car (in center console, glove compartment, and seat.) I left a message for the service department, and received a call back and was basically called a liar. They did not accept responsibility for the missing items, and told me that the items must've been taken by one of my family members. He said his guys would have never take anything and never apologized. Perhaps they left my car unlocked while not serviced, and a passerby took my items. Whatever the case, my items were stolen while my car was under Thompson's care. I have better things to do with my time than make up such a story and look for handouts. This proves that I cannot trust Thompson Chevrolet to take care of my car and all of its contents when being serviced. read more

We live in San Jose area, so Thompson is an hour and half away. We were looking to trade in our 2019 Equinox for a low mileage 2022. We found one on their web page and decided to take a drive. We were greeted by Salesperson Francisco Garcia. He immediately showed us the car, let us test drive , snd answered any questions we had. I explained we had a trade in and if the price offered was good we were prepared to buy the 2022. Long story short, they made an offer, I made 1 counter offer which was accepted. The paperwork process handled by Chris Quinter was quick and seamless . When all that was done, Francisco made sure my Onstar and Sirius Radio accounts were transferred from my old car, to my new car. Dec 2023 sales manager made us unwelcome. We were looking for suv and was walking around the lot. He did approach us but we felt like he wasn't really interested helping us out. even made a comment that the suv we were looking at cost $90k. Maybe because weren't dress up like he was. Anyways we good. We end up buying expedition and after that just this year we got navigator and cybertruck. I'd rather deal with dealership that treats walk in customers with some professionalism, hospitality and just plain fairly even they are just wearing regular joggers, hoodie and sandals. tell your sales manager looks can be deceiving so don't base your customer service the way people dress up. read more

Avoid them at all costs because they will be quick to sell you the product and not take care of their customers when the customer has brought to their attention the GMC Ultimate I purchased is in fact a LEMON. And to this day I was never offered to be replaced into another truck like how the owner said he would. I was offered a refund by the dealership of less than what GMC operate was offering. Also I was told they cannot help me. I cannot be pleased, (which if the $110,000.00 truck isn't fixed correctly of course I won't be pleased. It still has a vibration and the truck now pulls to the left) Instead they had the audacity to offer to hold the truck in their possession till GMC Corporate can take it back. Which would be 2 weeks to 2 months... there is not set time, but I told Jimmy I would be out of a truck that I paid for.. What sense does that make? I will be out of a truck and out of my money I paid for the truck... Who would be okay with this?? To me this dealership is not willing to take care of their customers, take accountability when things go wrong, such as leaving my truck with grease stains on my white stitched interior and grease stains on my center console, seats, and door panel. When a problem is too big the dealership fails and does not have the experience to hand this type of situation, And the answer they give is they never had to deal with a problem like this. And turn the customer away and not deal with the problem at hand... My opinion and it would had probably saved a customer is to replaced the vehicle with same exact vehicle and keep the customer happy. And at that point not have the customer have to deal with all this nonsense associated of this defective truck. Which is the reason why I bought a new truck is to not have any issues. Not to spend $110,000.00 and have issues with the truck and this dealership. Business owners response: Mr. Thompson, you already looked my complaint before I wrote this review. Bought it new six weeks ago left front door glass had a scratch & rear hatch had some scratches, dropped it off yesterday July 17 2024 the dealer set me up with a loaner car no cost to me picked up my Blazer EV on July 18 2024 everything was done properly and Firman & Gus where great they took care of me and made sure my experience @ Thompson Chevrolet was great in every way from start to finish. I came across a specific car on their website that I loved and as soon as they opened I called, was greeted with the warmest welcome and felt so comfortable with the help of Dustin! He sent a video to show detail of the car and I thought that was such a cool thing to do for someone (we live 1.5hrs away). By the video we fell in love with the car. I'm bummed I can not remember the names of the other gentlemen that helped us but The management team put together a wonderful package and I feel like it was right where we wanted to be financially. Finance dept explained everything that we were offered to add on like there special on warranty and what was included already! The staff was Honest, humble, kind and so welcoming! I recently decided to give this place second chance to see if they would call me back if extended warranty would cover cabin lights staying on in my Camaro I bought from them. Still waiting. I use to take my dad's 1996 Chevy pickup to be serviced here, great people and service then. I saw this beautiful Camaro and decided to buy it after a positive interaction with sales person, with that said this review is directed at Gen Management that behaved more like a swindler and a mechanic that lied to me about repairs done. After buying my Camaro a loud squeak in rear breaks came up and headliner began to become unglued in front. I supposedly had a bumper to bumper warranty and extended warranty originally I was not going to buy but did. I brought car in for supposed repairs which was kept a couple days and I was called by mechanic and told a new headliner would need to be ordered and that squeak in brakes fixed, it was a rock was lodged in them. When I picked up my Camaro it was under belief squeak was fixed and new headliner put in place. I felt no need to check the work was done. When I left soon as I applied brakes squeak still there and front of headliner came loose and right away knew no new headliner was put in. I took my Camaro to Smith chevrolet and they had there expert look at headliner. He showed me that a cheap glue was used to glue it in place that was not from Chevrolet and estimated headliner replacement cost to be just over $3k because two airbags would also have to be replaced. The brakes would need new pads and new calipers because ones in place could not be machined. I paid out of pocket for those repairs and still thinking on if I should have headliner repair done. I talked to Gen Manager Thompson Chevrolet and I told him I was lied to by mechanic and mechanic did a piss poor Job, that Smiths Chevrolet experts told me exactly what was wrong and gave me quote of repairs on paper which by the way Thompson Chevrolet put nothing of supposed repairs they did on paper. Thompson Chevrolet Gen manager only seemed to want to defend his mechanic and offered to buy my Camaro back. I refused and told him I loved my car and I wasn't rich but I was doing good and could afford coming out of pocket but if this was done to someone else they'd be more pissed off than me. Today I'm talking my Camaro to the good people of Smith Chevrolet again to have cabin light repaired don't want to turn off this after calling Thompson Chevrolet to see if my extended warranty covers this snd told I'd be called back. I'm still waiting for that call. My respect to person sold me the car he was straight with me. So to all from Thompson Chevrolet that know what I'm talking about you need to move on with your positive and dump the negative. Will never buy a car from Thompson Chevrolet again. I had a car to sell. I had a buying quote from KBB took them my quote and they offered me a decent counter offer and told me I had 7 days to redeem. I didn't accept their offer because I had other appointments for dealers to quote the purchase of my car; these were taking too long to respond with a quote and after purchasing a new car i was currently trying to get rid of the one i originally had. I return to this dealership and these "men" didn't keep their word of validating their 7 day offer and told me that was no longer valid though i came back 3 days after. I was greeted by Ray, who ultimately sold me the car. He's a great person who authentically cares. Everything from the sale itself, to a couple services, have been friendly and efficient experiences. I would give it Zero stars if I could. DO NOT go here. We came in to get a new vehicle, they only ran our credit through ONE company, although they said they used multiple. They told us we couldn't get the car we wanted, we had to get something cheaper. We had several questions for the finance manager (he drives a red truck) and he would not come and talk to us. We ended up going to Alfred Mathews in Modesto and were able to get a Brand new Cadillac. The car Thompson tried to sell us at a price gouge, we saw on their website they ended up selling the very next morning for $4500 less than what they tried to sell it to us for. Save yourself the hassle, go to Alfred Mathews. They wont try to screw you over or lie to you, and the finance manager actually speaks to the customers. read more

Had to take my Honda Van to them, because I was in a minor collision. Skeeter Krause was great. Not only did he and his team do a great job, but he was professional and friendly. Everyone there was really wonderful and friendly. They all seemed happy to help. We were greeted by a friendly face each time we arrived, and everyone made sure we had assistance. We had an issue with our insurance company not paying for the bill, just an oversight, but Skeeter called the company himself so that we could take our vehicle home. He had to call them twice, and he really cared. Thanks to Skeeter we were able to take our van home that day. We were on our way from LA to San Francisco to visit our son. We stopped for lunch in Gustine and when I closed the car door, the passenger window fell into the door. We searched this dealership and drove there directly, without even calling. The service department was amazing! They did not have a technician that was free, so they called the detail specialist over and he diagnosed us with a broken regulator. They had one in stock and replaced it within the hour!!!! We were headed into a city that has frequent rain and Thompson's saved us from turning around and heading four hours back home! Thanks to you all for your kindness and dedication! read more

New to area and took my truck in to have a part replaced and there service department tells you that you have to pay $150 for each diagnosis which doesn't include parts or labor. For example, if you go in and tell them you need a coolant hose repaired because its starting to leak a little they tell you that you have to pay $150 for a diagnostic first. I was surprised they didn't say I need to pay for a diagnosis for the oil change I asked for. They DON'T do this at Steve's Chevrolet in Oakdale. I will continue to give my business to Steve's. Spend the gas money and time to go to Steve's Chevrolet in Oakdale. You will save on the random diagnosis charges. Also, when Steve's Chevrolet charges a diagnosis fee , if you fix what they found wrong, the diagnosis fee gets out towards the work you have done. Please don't get taking advantage of. read more

Thompsons GMC has good customer service but when it comes to them doing damage to your vehicle wheels when they do a tire rotation dont expect them to do anything about it. I took my 2013 terrain to get the service done their and when they did the tire rotation their technician scratched 3 of my wheels one with major damage. When i spoke to the service representative he stated that he asked his technicians if anyone scratched the rim and that they all said no and he stated that all hes technicans were honest and that if they did it they would say they did which is a bunch of bs. I will never go back to thompsons again even if they would of replaced the wheel as there level of professionalism is very low. read more

Incredible, I have a 2017 Chevy bolt that needed minor warranty repairs done ie.. ac vents, rear door pillar and mychevy software update and booked my appointment a week in advance by phone. After changing my work schedule to accommodate the vehicle drop off, I get a phone call an hour beforehand telling me they cannot service my vehicle and that I need to take it to another "Chevy" dealership that works on the Bolt because they don't have a technician on site who works/ knows about the Bolt . Are you kidding me? I've taken the car there once before for regular maintenance with no issues. Horrible customer service is an understatement. I've purchased two brand new Chevy vehicles and luckily didn't purchase them at this dealership. How does this hole in the wall dealership even stay in business? I have been shopping for a car for my wife for about a year. I've been to numerous dealerships from Sacramento to LA as I travel for work. If I saw a deal I thought was appealing I would stop in and see if it worked out. Obviously I had been frustrated and disappointed on countless encounters. So when I saw a black Chevy Camaro advertised at Thompson Chevrolet I had to make the drive to check it out. Mark is the salesman I dealt with and it was very refreshing to deal with a real professional. Our first phone conversation until I drove away in our new Camaro was fantastic. He answered all of my questions. Took me on a legitimate test drive. Didn't give me the hard sell or bug me with phone calls or texts when I wanted to go home and sleep on it. I was amazed. When it came time to move forward with the purchase no BS $600 doc fee and $500 slip resistant excuse for more profit fee. None of that mess. Straight forward pricing. Straight forward financing. I never once got hot under the collar and I've never ever bought a car from a dealership where I didn't get pissed off at least once during the process. I bought this car and drove away with a big smile on my face. My wife and I couldn't be happier. Bought a vehicle from here, only reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because Carlos (salesman) and Bob provided me with great customer service (they're the people to go to.) Reason why this dealership won't get 5 stars is because their service dept is not the greatest. Booked an appointment for a loud noise that was coming from my ac compressor, and all they did was put lubricant on it. Service dept called me and made excuses on why my parts hadn't got there and they took 8 days to give my vehicle back. Noise went away for a couple days and came back. I bought the extended warranty for my vehicle and I'd rather take it to another GM dealership even if i pay out of my pocket rather than take it back to that service dept team. read more
