But, Abe's easy way of doing business more than makes up for it. We had scheduled an appointment and when we showed, he promptly took us out to see the car, a Chevy Volt, and let us take it for a test drive. Once we were back, we discussed our concerns and settled on a cash deal in about 5 minutes. Then about 20 minutes of paperwork later, we paid and we were done. Super easy and straightforward. We were off the lot with the car within about an hour after our arrival, including a 20 minute test drive. I'll definitely be checking with Abe on my next purchase. Manic Motors surprised us a couple times in very unexpected ways and made us return customers for…read morelife. First surprise, extended selection. We saw two vehicles online but ended up test driving and considering four. They have new vehicles coming in just as fast as they're selling them. BMW, Mercedes, Tesla, Dodge, GMC - they will likely have what you're looking for. For us, we're a Tesla family through & through. Can't beat the reliability and cost of ownership on top of the increasingly pampering features being auto-updated every year. They had at least a dozen Teslas on their lot, and more off-site. Their selection is like digging into Mary Poppins bag, they just keep pulling out so much more than you expect. Second surprise: Paul Paul was courteous and knowledgeable, as expected, from the start. He showed us the two vehicles we saw online, about 6 more that looked great, and even a couple models that we weren't even planning on considering - again, great selection. Manic Motors was our very first stop in our car shopping adventure and, despite the great prices, I could not allow myself to be 'sold' at my first stop - just a personal conviction in life. We left Manic Motors in hopes of finding more great offers elsewhere. This is where Paul surprised us. He cautioned us about being aware of some shady practices but wished us well in our search. Come to find out, Paul was absolutely right TWICE with two separate dealerships - one had promised a particular feature online & over the phone, but couldn't fake the Carfax report, the other dealership had almost no knowledge of Teslas (how to open the doors, calculate range at full charge, types of configurations, etc.) and were extremely pushy - even to the point of lying to our face. *** BAD REVIEWS on Livermore Toyota and Tracy Hyundai coming soon! *** But, back to Paul. Just before we discovered the 3rd dealership was ultra-pushy, we had messaged Paul that we found a vehicle that was a slightly better year and trim than what he had on his lot. He was gracious and congratulated us. We waited two days for this car and THEN we saw the ugly side of the 3rd dealership. Although our daughter liked this car a slight bit more than all the others we saw that week, I refuse to purchase anything from someone who disrespects my wife and daughter. Needless to say, we went back to Paul since they did have my daughter's very-close-second-place vehicle. Paul was amazing. He welcomed us back, gave us a great price, and made the buying experience pain-free. It's a different world today than it was when I was growing up. More and more difficult to trust people at their word these days. This was a hard lesson that Paul warned us about and it hit us immediately after leaving Manic Motors. Paul was genuine and up-front about the whole process, what he's able to do and what he couldn't. In a world where promises are often counterfeited, even from seemingly large & established businesses, it imperative to find someone you can trust. Upon arrival, i had noticed that the odometer had many more miles on it that advertised, trash in the back seat, dried up spills all over the front passenger seat, a rag left in the trunk. When asked about it the sales person said it they do the detailing after he sells it. I asked if this was being used a a commuter car for one of the folks there and he said no. That was the first lie of our visit as the GM later said he had been using it. We knew this as his and many others names were still connected to the vehicles Bluetooth. I know this vehicle had been on the lot for a number of weeks and am not stupid but the excuse after excuse and a lame attempt in cover up is unacceptable. When we asked to take it for a test drive, it took them quite a while and a number of attempts to resolve the security on it. That was the second indicator of unprofessional attention to detail. 3 - the travel rout seemed odd. We were suspicious as the sales person directed us in a lap around farm roads so we had it insist on taking it on the freeway. I can see why now as we discovered that it had a noticeable pull to the right That was just add to the BS and it soured us. At the end, we made a reasonable offer for a vehicle that was a non-certified used repo vehicle, was obviously driven hard, 11000k and needed an alignment already and needed brake rotor work, etc. They quoted a price $5000 more they advertised on line and pulled comparisons in the area that were for similar vehicles but in much better condition etc. Red flag again! We got sick of the BS and out right lies and felt a bit insulted at the end on their tactics and walked. This will go on out reviews of Tracy Nissan for sure. I'm still mad about this experience.
