I have used Thompson's Appliance Service several times for the older appliances in the home I bought a couple of years ago. This week I finally bought a dryer which was installed today. Tried to charge us $400 for a new garbage disposal. A competitor un jammed it and on top of that put a new belt on our dryer all for $128 total..i will never call Thompson again. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Absolutely terrible customer service...been calling since JULY of 2018 to get a machine fix that was purchased at Thompsons. They waited for the part to come in and it took multiple calls to even get a hold of them. 8 MONTHS later they come to install the broken part and then say that's not the issue and blame laundy soap for the issues. Wouldn't reccomend to my worst enemy. Not the only horror story I've heard of this company either. We try to support small businesses, but this is not one you should trust. read more

The first time I used Thompson's Appliance was a year ago for a repair on the fridge and the owner Bob came out and did a fantastic job. Recently the microwave began having issues and they promised it to me in 7 days, it now been a month. Calling the store for information is a joke, Hannah never knows what is going on and never will put you through to Bob to talk to him about the issue, I have been in the store and heard her tell people that Bob is not in the store when he is standing right there. She also never knows the status of a repair, she promises to check but never calls you back. I used Thompson's because they were the hometown business and you should try to support the local businesses, but its not worth the headache in this case, they don't seem to care about customer service. read more

"Specialties Same Day Service For Most Repairs" What a joke!! Called 09/05 for service on a refrigerator. Was told they would be out Wed. 09/07 b/t 10-11 am. When they didn't show up until almost 4p.m., I should have just said "thanks, but no thanks". They diagnosed the problem, said part needed to be ordered & they should have it by 09/09. That day & many others passed with no phone call. After making 2 phone calls to them to see what the delay was (and getting the runaround), we decided to use someone else. Called them on 09/19 to let them know that we would be hiring someone else...all of a sudden, the part was in & they could come out today for the repair. After declining that due to the lack of communication & follow through-was informed that we would still need to pay the service call of $90. Today is 09/22 & I received the invoice! Absolutely AMAZING that the repair couldn't be completed in 12 days, but they had no problem getting the invoice out in 3 days!! Wish I would have read other reviews before making that first phone call. read more

I'm all about supporting local businesses, but unfortunately not Thompson. Came out the first time and couldnt fix it because they didnt have the part (it was VERY hard to communicate with repair man, due to broken english). Said they would come back in 2 days to fix. They still were umable to a fix after the 2 additional days due to part being on "back order"..... we decided to get a second opinion. Glad we did because not only did we not need that part, we had a minor issue and was fixed by another company on the spot. I also saved over $100 with the other company! read more

Where to start? First off, all the other reviews are accurate. Don't expect any communication unless you call them. They have been at my house SEVEN, yes, SEVEN times! I have had a broken stovetop for almost THREE MONTHS, yes, THREE MONTHS now with no end in sight! First, Jessica said she ordered "every possible part" about a month into this circus act. Well, my stovetop was not repaired. Then we had multiple 1 week to 2 week waits for more parts with the "last possible part" arriving earlier this week. I was not home and the "last possible part" still did not fix the problem. You would think they would immediately call me with a plan, after all we are almost THREE MONTHS without a functional stovetop! No phone call! A day later I call and Jessica has the nerve to tell me she was busy! We are almost at THREE MONTHS and I am done with them. At one point I tried to call and talk to Bob (the supposed owner) and she would not let me. I think at this point, Bob should be the one calling me with apologies. I hope they don't plan to send me a bill because they didn't fix my stovetop. I have to go somewhere else. In addition, we don't wear shoes in the house and they just come walking in every time with their nasty shoes on! They didn't even ask me if they should take them off or not. They should ask or have booties. We do not wear shoes in our house and I find just walking into someone's house without asking about that is rude and disgusting. read more

We spoke with Jessica on Tuesday, she stated she would research the issue and call back and possibly come to check out our oven on Thursday (Thanksgiving!). She never called or showed up. We spoke with Bob on Saturday and he was going to check out our request and call us, he never called! The following Monday we called again and were told the repairman would be here between 12 and 2. No one ever came. Called the store at 3:30 and Jessica said the repairman was just finishing the first appointment and didn't know when or if he would show up.When we stated to forget it she became defensive sarcastic and I ended the call. I will never shop at Thompsons or recommend them for service. read more

1st off i was suppose to get a phone call day 1..never did so I call the next day and called 4 times and no answer. I requested for someone to call me back after 3 and never did and a little after 4 someone showed up at my door without a phone call saying they were on their way. Guy came over and needed to order a part, so the next day they have the part and just expect to come when they want when I was already at work, so I scheduled a date and time and set it up and less than 10 minutes they call and say they have to change the time. They do not communicate to their customers at all! They just do what they want and come whenever they want! read more

My land lord decided to use this company to service the washer and drier in our rental unit. The first red flag for an unprofessional company came when we were waiting for a return phone call to let us know when service would be scheduled. Two hours or so later a tech showed up at our door unannounced. The tech ordered parts for the drier and couple days later we called back to find out when parts would arrive. The parts were already there. The tech showed up on the service date but was 45min early and again with no phone call. After the tech left the washer seemed ok but the next day was shaking violently again. Again service was scheduled for over a week later. The scheduled and time between 11am and 1pm came and went with no phone call. I called the company and spoke with the owner Bob who is the one who made the appointment. He told me he remembers the call and must have forgotten to print the ticket for out appointment. He told us he would try to make it out but would have to close his shop because he only has one tech other than himself. He was rude and unprofessional. I told him I do not care who comes out I just want someone here. He said he would send someone out then and hung up me. The tech who has been here 3 times now found an oil leak at the bottom of the machine and worn out wear plates. I would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about using this company to reconsider. read more
