Please read the entire review! I know this is a long review, however this was an unusual situation that needs a little background. My daughter and I purchased a home a little over a year ago and only have about 7 months left of a warranty for parts on our furnace. The furnace is only 4 years old, however we are not the original owners who had the home built in 2022 which is why the warranty is almost over. Our furnace started making a horrible noise and then all of a sudden it stopped. We called another company to come out and look at it. They told us that the blower motor cage had cracked due to faulty manufacturing and the blower motor basically fell off and broke. After getting a list of authorized service/warranty providers from the manufacturer, we called CTR heating and air. They worked with us and the manufacturer to try to process a claim on the warranty but it was a nightmare! We were getting no help from the manufacturer and we were stuck. We finally got it resolved, after about 2.5 weeks, and ended up having to go through the initial installer when the home was built. Here is where the review gets good! Even though we actually didn't end up going through CTR, their constant communication, repeated attempts to resolve with the manufacturer and their daily updates/ communication with me was outstanding! Never once did I have to reach out to them for an update. They always contacted me first! When we communicated, it was always extremely professional and very customer service centered. They provided much needed recommendations for the future and were very patient with us and the situation, and never got frustrated even though it was taking so long. Even after all the work they put in for us, when we advised them that we were going to have to go through the original installer, they STILL remained professional and wished us well, hoping that everything would work out on our favor! What an amazing and incredible company! I'm only allowed to give 5 stars, but if I could, I would absolutely give them at 10! Would 100% recommend CTR as they are friendly, helpful, professional, and honest!! read more

My water heater outlet pipe had a small hole in it that required the water heater to be drained in order to repair. The repair went fine and the guy was nice and friendly; however, he didn't wait long enough before refilling the hot heater with cold water and it cracked the unit's inner workings creating a leak. So, not only am I out $500 for the original repair but now $3500 for a new water heater and install. Based on that, I wouldn't recommend them for plumbing stuff... read more

These people are idiots. We had a first maintenance check of our AC system in the spring and we were told everything was good. We signed a service contract to be proactive. Our downstairs AC died in August, so CTR sent a different service person out a he said to change the filter and wait 24 hours. He did not even look at our outside AC unit (really?!?) or even check the upstairs AC system at all, and then was charged $79!?! (CTR said that our appointment did not fall within the service agreement - WTH???). 24 hours later we still had no AC downstairs - a call to CTR said their earliest availability was the end of the day. I called another company and made an appointment for midday. Do NOT use CTR: They are jerks and don't know what they are doing, not to mention that their "service agreement" is worthless. read more

I absolutely had to upgrade from my swamp cooler to an AC last spring. Kris came out gave me a ton of information on different options and let me decide what to ultimately pick out for my home. His competitors felt like they were pushing me into the most expensive option. His prices were extremely reasonable. When I reached back out he was able to get it installed the next day. Can't say enough about this company.... Kris was superb! We had a furnace and central air unit installed. Kris walked through to determine the right size for our home. He gave us options to consider. We found him very knowledgeable and positive about the whole experience. Travis (an excellent tech) installed both units and we've had a chance to run the furnace over the past few months - Now that the heat is on, the central air is purring right along. This visit was for my a/c wouldn't come on. The technician was quick to figure out my thermostat prongs had broken & I only needed a new thermostat. He had one in his truck which he installed quickly & I had a/c! I initially called on CTR over10 years ago as a home renter in Sandy, They installed the warrantied part & the heater worked again. After a few days the heater quit again. They came back with another new part. It went out again! This time they called the company & found out the correct part was mis-numbered on the site & told them the correct part. It was installed & worked perfectly! My HVAC installer on my house was horrible and during install allowed for a slow freon leak that their "fix" was topping it off every 6 months. I kept asking that they actually fix it but they never did. Ended up being rude and refused to fix it and tried to make it sound like they were doing me a favor by coming back so many times to fix a problem they created. CTR on the other hand has always been on the low side for pricing of items or service and they have always been prompt with me in providing service. Their techs have all been polite and respectful regarding removing shoes with dirt etc before proceeding on inside repairs/testing. Just had them come out yesterday and was worried that my compressor had blown. Would have been $1000+ to replace but turns out it was just a capacitor that had blown. I had him replace a second one at my request that was getting old but total I was at $207.00. Every company puts a sticker on their furnace when coming out to service but there is only one that has stayed on mine for any period of time. CTR. read more

I would like to praise and commend CTR Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone needing work done. They came out the day I called them, and removed and installed a whole new heater the next day. The repairman kept the work area tidy, and he was super fast. He ran into troubles with the way my original heater was laid out, but he solved the problems quickly and professionally. Additionally, the repairman didn't try to push me into an expensive unit. He told me the prices up front, and told me the cheaper heater works as good as the expensive one. Woke up this morning to a broken AC. I don't have any HVAC repair contacts so I went to Yelp. CTR was nearby and had very good reviews so I called (Saturday morning so I didn't expect and answer) and left a message. Within an hour or so the owner called me back, less than an hour later the problem is solved and I have AC again before noon. Perfect! Couldn't ask for anything more and at a very reasonable price! Ever since I discovered that my preferred HVAC company had sold their business I've been nervous about finding new one. The day of need arrived when one day I discovered that our AC was not working at all. Not only was CTR able to come out very quickly (I think it was the day after I called compared to a few weeks with another service company I called) but they offered very reasonable rates. They were able to resolve my issue quickly and were patient enough to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. I ended up having them back out to clean my AC unit and I will certainly have them back out again in the fall to tune up my furnace. If you are looking for an honest company that does good work and doesn't over-charge I would highly recommend calling CTR. read more

I am so grateful to have found CTR Heating and Air I am literally crying tears of relief. I have had so much bad luck with businesses not doing their job and me ending up running around trying to get correct service. That has not been the experience with CTR. They came out today to perform tune-ups on my furnaces and to troubleshoot one furnace who a year ago I said was not working right but the builder Richmond American homes and their partner Air Design told me I was crazy and the furnace works like it should. If I wanted my bedrooms warmer I needed to keep the doors open. CTR was only here for about 30 minutes, fixed the clogged drain so the burners stay on and verified both furnaces are working as designed. This was hands down the best customer service I have ever received. The service tech was kind, clean, respectful and very knowledgeable. I recommend CTR to everyone!!! read more

We called CTR Heating & Air late last year to change the add-a-wire in our furnace, which is connected to both the furnace and AC system. As soon as the summer heated up we noticed a big problem with our AC - it was randomly turning off during all hours of the day. The SAME problem we were having with the furnace before CTR "fixed" it. Called CTR again, telling them specifically they needed come check out the add-a-wire they changed months before. On their service call they told us they could not find anything wrong and charged us $49 for a diagnoses ... of nothing. Even though the AC was only working intermittently. Once again the AC crapped out and we called CTR AGAIN, telling them they needed come check the add-a-wire AGAIN. When they did come back they admitted the problem was in the add-a-wire and they would be charging us $125. WHAT?! The timing was for this was spot on for this to be faulty part and/or fault in the installation. They did credit us back the 'diagnostic' visit (which found nothing), but still charged us $105 for re-installing the part.... That seemed to be mis-installed or a bad part the first time. Oh, and the re-installation took 10 minutes (yes, $105 for 10 minutes of labor - the part was under warranty). When we brought this up the owner Kris Keller, who re-installed the part, he argued with us, was incredibly rude, and refused to admit fault in any of the problems. We are reasonable people and understand thing go wrong with parts and installation, but when you do not accept fault and charge the customer for your mistakes it is unacceptable. Kris insisted on charging us for his mistake and I feel we got duped. I truly do not believe we would be in this situation if we would have gone with a different company. I hope others can learn from our situation and choose a better, customer oriented business that makes the Right decision for its customer and not the bottom line. read more

We asked Kris to install a vertical exhaust fan in our kitchen area, plus we needed two attic fan motors replaced. Kris was absolutely great to work with! He had good suggestions, and was amazingly fast on the installs! He also recommended a fantastic electrician to finish up the necessary wiring. I have two separate incidents. The first one my pipes were frozen and the air conditioner was not working. I called CTR, through various questions and texting pictures they were able to help me fix my problem. This winter, my pilot light would not light. The very same thing, with various text messages they were able to help me do a few things to fix my problem. 2 Years ago when I first used CTR To fix a problem with my furnace , I thought to my self that I had found an honest and reliable Company that I could rely on for any Heating and Air Conditioning repair needs . During that visit the technician was HONEST quick at diagnosing and fixing the problem with my furnace and we were up an confortable again with in a couple of hrs. Since then over the summer my AC was not working well , it would stop cooling and not kick on, so I called CTR again and unfortunately this visit was totally contrary to the first one, the Technician told me that the blower motor was bad and that the circuit board was bad and that I might consider replacing the AC/ furnace unit that it was old and too small for my condo ( there are 80 units in this condo complex which have the same unit and they are only 7 years old ) at the end I was given an estimate for repairs totaling $1645.00 or replace the unit $3785.00 I then called an other local Heating and Air Company for a second opinion who's Technician came in and with in 15 mins found out that all there was with my unit was a loose cable that calls for cold air. As soon as he fixed that my unit was up and running without a problem and only cost me $79.99. today while talking to a friend at work he just recently had a very similar problem with CTR. His heater had stoped working and contacted CTR who send a technician the same day and again he was also told on a written estimate as well that his blower motor was shot, his circuit board was shot, and that the unit was too big for the ducting in the house and again recommended that the unit be also replaced leaving him with a possible expense of $3475 . He also called another Company for a second opinion and again the unit only needed a high limit switch $27 and a capacitor $11. CTR 's Business practices are proving to be dishonest and totally not trust worthy. In today's world it's extremely hard to find a Company that is totally honest but I am sure there are some. This is my 2nd time using CTR and once again they didn't disappoint. I have worked with Kris, David and Dayne and all three of them go above and beyond. They are honest, reliable and fair. Kris came out last year and fixed my heater, while he was waiting for the heater to run, he was checking into my humidifier and making some suggestions on what we could do to maintain it better for a longer life - didn't even charge for that. David came out last month for our A/C and then back again the next day and was thorough in his work and didn't leave until he made sure the problem was resolved. This is the worst place I have ever dealt with. The Technician was RUDE. He didn't know what the name of the parts were that he wanted to charge me for. He couldn't give me a break down of what the $187.00 charge was for. When asked to help me understand what is wrong he told me "this was a waste of his time" and left. I will never refer this place to anyone, and will say ACE Heating and A/C is outstanding. They explained everything and fixed it for $70.00. Called CTR on the 3rd of July and to my surprise the tech said he could come out to check my a/c on the fourth of July, I was impressed that the tech was willing to come see what was wrong on a holiday. Was told I needed a new circuit board for the furnace, ok great. He couldn't get a price on the part until the flowing monday. Didn't get a call, so I called the tech. said he forgot and would check the next. Again no call and tech wouldn't answer phone. Ended up having another place fix my furnace.
