However I could understand if someone else might get a little annoyed at being told they had to go to the bar area when they specifically asked for the dining room on their reservation. I have to say that I do love the downstairs bar area, it's classy and has a vintage speakeasy vibe. We were quickly greeted by one of the guys working the bar who was super nice and did a great job. For a drink I started with their version of an espresso martini, which was a good start to the food experience and gave me high hopes. They brought us out some popovers which to me were just okay. For an appetizer we got some buffalo chicken dip, which was quite delicious. For dinner my mom got a Caesar salad (which I tried a little bit of and thought was good) and a flatbread pizza that was on special. I decided to be a little bougie and went with the braised short ribs, and I regret to say that the dish fell flat for me. The short rib did come apart okay when I stuck my fork in it, but it was kind of chewy, bland and overall really didn't have much flavor. The menu also states that the short rib is served with broccolini (which is a milder, sweeter version of the green vegetable) but it came with regular plain broccoli instead, which I was also quite honestly disappointed by. With all that being said the polenta was my favorite thing on the plate. I'm a little conflicted. The place is beautiful and the staff is so nice. But with how much it was hyped up to me, I was a little let down. I'm kind of thinking that I should've went with another dish? I really want to truly love this place, so I'm sure I'll be back with family at some point to give them another chance.

Teresa's also provided a huge private area for the wedding party to relax and enjoy appetizers prior to being announced, and a safe place to store changes of clothes and other personal items. There was also plenty of parking and Teresa's provided an attendant as well. Sharon was easy to work with, was extremely supportive during the planning, and was in control and calm during the reception to ensure our day went as planned! We had some unique needs and special desires and Sharon was very accommodating. For example, we decided to have a dessert table in lieu of a wedding cake; we put our trust in Sharon to take care of that for us and she far exceeded every expectation! Our dessert bar was absolutely amazing and our guests raved about it! Additionally, she was so helpful with our request for food stations instead of a traditional sit down meal. The biggest hit...a mashed potato bar, with loads of toppings and served in martini glasses! Our guests couldn't get enough! Looking right out onto Gloucester Harbor, the location and the views are incredible. It's also an incredibly cool, modern spot. The restaurant serves fresh New England seafood, dishes made with seasonal and regional produce and meat, and dishes made using their live-fire grill and smoker! No kidding, I wanted everything on this menu. My mom eats vegetarian/mostly vegan, so she ordered two small plates for herself that were veggie-focused. I ordered their smoked monkfish burnt ends (with lemongrass chili crunch and apple & celery root slaw) and their pan seared scallops (with summer mushroom risotto, smoked brisket jam, and sun-dried tomato butter). Both dishes were great. I couldn't eat all of it, but I took the leftover burnt ends home and sliced them up for sandwiches the next two days (made the best sandwiches). The risotto was one of the best I've ever had - absolutely great flavor, but I did wish they'd gotten a little more color/sear on the scallops themselves - but they weren't overcooked, which is the most important part of the cook on a scallop! I really loved my meal. Their wine list was also great, and I had a wonderful glass of Bourgogne Blanc. The service was great - Sabrina was our server, and she was wonderful! This is a popular spot, so you need a reservation if you want to grab dinner here during popular hours. We had a reservation for around 7 on a Saturday night, and a group of two walked in without a reservation and were told they had an opening for walk-ins around 9. We had to wait a bit for our table but otherwise our meal was pretty perfect service-wise. We had a great meal at Oak to Ember. I'd love to return.
