Joe and Corey were truly amazing - firstly, they were incredibly communicative about their ETA. When they arrived, they did a thorough diagnosis of the HVAC unit and even took the time to explain exactly what they were doing and why. They took care of the issue with ease and made a lot of recommendations to prevent future damage. They also offered to look at some of the other AC parts and my AC filter just to make sure I was maintaining everything properly - a service they did not need to do or take more time for. They ended up staying just chatting about best practices and were just about the friendliest repair people I have ever dealt with. I own two properties and have been through SO many bad or iffy contractors and repair people so it's such a relief to find reliable and high quality service providers. We called several times, and the secretary said that was the charge for using a credit card. My husband wanted ot pay with a check or cash at that point. We were told there was no way to refund the fee. I emailed him and asked for a refund because they did not disclose the fee in advance. Junior, the boss, refused. Furthermore, all the other quotes for a new water softener were $3500. Please AVOID JN SERVICES HAVAC at all costs. They are not honest and transparent about their costs/fees and charge exorbitant amounts for any service.

Buying a mini-split system is an incredibly difficult process. The Mass Save rebate system is very…read moredifficult to navigate. I got quotes and presentations from 4 different vendors and the pitch and price was exactly the same - hour long presentation and a $30k cost. However, what each vendor tells you is that IF you qualify a $10k rebate is available and your net cost is $20k. Essentially the rebate is a scam - it just gives contractors the ability to inflate the prices and use the rebate to make the system sound cheaper than it really is. I finally met with McIver and he was able to simplify the entire process. He is not a Mass Save contractor. So he does not work the rebate, just offers a strait-up cost to install the system. When he gave me his quote, I quickly figured out that Dan McIver was an honest man and that the whole Mass Rebate program was a scam. His quote with the similar equipment and the same number of mini-splits was $13,500. I hired him for the job and they started within a week. One of my biggest concerns was esthetics - I was worried about too many refrigeration lines running around the outside of the house. Our house is a rental property in Cape Cod that had a lot of charm to it and we did not want to ruin the integrity of it. Dan came up with a brilliant solution and was able to run most of the lines through the basement to minimize the lines on the outside of the house - we were so pleased with this solution. His team did a fantastic job building out the system - they were clean and finished the project on the timeline he quoted. The work was high quality!! Net is that Dan took a very complicated buying process and made it simple and affordable. He is highly recommended for the quality of his work, pricing and his honest and straightforward approach!
