I went to Thread to do Ombre Brows, and the person that did my procedure was Michelle. I can't say enough about the treatment I received from Michelle. Two weeks before I went and had a consultation with Michelle and she took her time and explained everything in complete detail. Did an eyebrow shape + mapping with the owner, I paid $40 and it ended up being just five minutes long, I've done mappings before and they have never been that quick I wonder if this had to do with the owner being 15 minutes late to the appointment. I was hopeful that at least my eyebrows would grow to be more even with some shape so I booked a follow-up, but that didn't happen so I called to cancel (over a week in advance) my follow-up given that I was unhappy with my results only to be told that my deposit was nonrefundable. I ended up finding it in the fine print on their website but this is just a really scammy way to operate and take people's money. I rather they keep my $20 then go back to be honest. read more

Have been extremely loyal to Thread since July 2019. My first experience was with Zara and she blew me away! The majority of the time, I get my brows threaded and tinted by Hetal. My brows are always shaped consistently to the shape and and thickness that I like! I have very sensitive, thin skin that cuts and bruises easily and Hetal (and TBH all the girls at Thread I have seen) are extremely gentle. While Hetal was on maternity leave, I have been serviced by Asha and Krupa and I also highly recommend them. I've also had brow lamination done a few times by Zeba and she is phenomenal as well. Really, you can't go wrong at Thread. They are extremely trustworthy, highly skilled, everyone from the front desk girls to the brow techs to the owner Liz are all so professional, welcoming and kind. I look forward to my monthly visits! Growing up I did not know that getting brows done was a thing. When I found out how life changing shaping ones brows was, how it frames your face and changes the facial expression, it led to a journey of finding my perfect brow shape. Thread x Skin has a reputable social media and Instagram page where they show their clients with flawlessly done brows. They have walk in specials ($5) for brow threading, ($7) for brow waxing, and ($24) for brow tinting + threading + nose cleansing. The nose cleansing is just hot wax pulled off your nose and squeezing pores, so it was not a good experience. A few of the aestheticians can shape the brows beautifully, so you just have to find the right one. read more

Just basic customer service skills: every time I've come to this salon the front desk has a group of girls chatting and laughing. Ok fine.... no interest in preserving a spa like environment but at $5 brows what do you expect? The girls that do the brows range from really good to horrible and clueless. There's one that everyone seems to love most, and are willing to wait for her. This causes the rest of the clients to end up going to a significantly worse threader. I was unbiased and gave each a fair chance on numerous occasions. I tried doing a brow tint: loved it the first time. Second time went to the threader that no one waits for and came out looking like a puppet from Sesame Street. It was horrible. Last and final time I came by at 6:10pm to a locked door, group of girls laughing with their backs towards the customers...again... I politely knocked and asked whether they close at 6:30pm or not and one just shrugged and shook her head. Didn't bother to get up and unlock the door to explain that they were full up for the last 20 minutes or that the doors close earlier than the salon closes. Just basic customer service skills..... something that if it was your "dream to open your own salon" as you say on your website, you should really live up to providing a reputable service and have basic courtesy skills towards your customers. read more

If I can give this place 0 stars I would! The receptionist was extremely rude and lacked compassion. I wasn't able to make my reservation due to a family illness and she proceeded to tell me "we won't be able to reschedule you because the threader is here now and she will loose out on commission." I proceeded to explain to her my situation and how I was not able to get away from my sick father to call to reschedule and eyebrow appointment because I was with my father and she continued on about the threader not getting commission. The lack of compassion and customer service is extremely disgusting here. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else for service. Found this place on Instagram and gave it a try despite my skepticism. The place is cutely decorated and very clean. The workers were nice and friendly which is always a plus. I got the targeted facial because I wasn't sure of what I wanted. The esthetician explained the process of the facial and what she recommended. She was very gentle and accommodating. I'm no expert but I felt like she was too gentle with the extractions. When you're paying for a facial you'd want them to extract everything off your face until it's cleaned out but my pimples were still unpopped on my face. At the end of the day it was a nice facial and the esthetician was nice. I had really high hopes but this place just fell short. read more

Second time coming in and absolutely loved both experiences. The store is decorated with such positive vibes and there's hygenic hand sanitizer at every station. The receptionist is friendly and professional, and Liz is incredibly talented at what she does. I did the Midsummer Special combo (Brazilian + Eyelash lifting), as well as leg waxing and eyelash tint. It was my first time getting a Brazilian and Liz was super gentle throughout the whole process. No awkwardness, just a funny but painful experience, and I'd do it again. She used chocolate wax for sensitive skin. When I came home and exfoliated it according to the aftercare instructions she gave me, there were no bumps no ingrown hairs etc. My leg waxing Liz did was super fast and thorough. The result for both the Brazilian and legs were super smooth and even though I normally have sensitive eczema skin, I didn't get any allergic reactions. The eyelash lift was also great! I normally get extensions but because I'm approaching busy season at work next month, decided to try the eyelash lift so that maintenance might be easier. Sylvia was my technician and she was super gentle since I had contacts in. All my lashes are crazy curled and I love the natural but amplified effect I wanted that would still be appropriate for work. I have almond shaped Asian eyes and I love how the tint and lift really complemented my natural eye shape. It's definitely a busy store but the staff are friendly and stop to welcome every single client as they come in. Friends is on the TV so you're never bored while you're getting your lashes done. Came here a few times since Thread opened, and the brow threading ($5) is pretty reliable. I have a really straight brow and it's difficult to shape, but the ladies here know what they're doing. I ask for a bit of an arch, and they can usually make it happen. I've had 1-2 experiences where the shape wasn't quite what I wanted, but it's no big deal. I've brought friends here as well, and they were satisfied with the threading. read more

Update: 08/17/20 After my experience at Thread, I reached out to the owner Liz. She expressed her condolences for my bad experience and worked with me refund my money. Although I originally planned on returning for a brow lamination I decided against it. I'm thankful that Liz respected my wishes and honored my refund request. ---------------- This review is for Threads facial service, I have yet to try their brow or lash services but I will do so next week and update my review to reflect my overall opinion. I visited Thread yesterday for a targeted facial. I wish I hadn't. I've had a couple of facials throughout the years, so I have a general sense of what they're supposed to feel like. This facial was far from it. From the moment I arrived to my appointment to the moment I left. Nothing felt as it should. I arrived at my appointment a few minutes early, however once my scheduled time arrived I was not seen for another 15 minutes, making my total wait time 20 minutes. Upon being called I was willing to set that aside and get my long awaited facial. The woman who performed my facial seemed to not be familiar with the layout of her work station. Half of the time I was there she spent looking around and fumbling with her tools. The facial in question was awful. Nothing applied to my fault remotely relaxing or like it was properly applied. I was resigned to the fact that I had paid for a worthless session that I would receive the benefits from. I honestly thought it couldn't get worse. That is until it was time for extractions. Prior to coming in I had some acne on my face. Any esthetician worth her money knows you aren't supposed to touch cystic acne that has not matured enough to have a "head", that is, to have formed a pustule. My acne was not at the stage to be extracted. The fact that the esthetician who did my facial, if I can even call her an esthetician, decided to start extracting them speaks to her lack of expertise in the field she was hired to work in. The esthetician also chose to use a facial vacuum, which served no purpose as it didn't not extract any black heads. She fumbled and dropped that tool several times and in hindsight I'm worried that it wasn't properly sanitized before being applied on my face again. I should have chosen to get up off of that bed. That mistake solely lies on my shoulders. I'm writing this review so that others don't place the same faith in the workers here as I did. What I am left with now is a swollen cheek, and prayers that my cheek won't scar because of yesterday's disaster. Please save your money and go someplace that has actually taken the time to train their workers on how to properly extract and deal with all different skin types/conditions. read more

I love going here for my eyebrows. Everything is pink and cute! Their service is incredible. I go every 2-3 months (due to the slow eyebrow hair growth) for eyebrow threading and the nose outer cleanse- it helps so much with removing my blackheads. They're always welcoming and sweet. I came here after going to the supermarket and I had a pretty good experience. There was a wait to get eyebrows done because there was a crowd. A lot of girls get their beauty needs done here. It was a very inviting salon where women get their eyebrows, eyelashes and spa needs done. They had inviting music and the atmosphere is inviting. I was excited to visit thread after coming across their social media and reading reviews. I let my brows grow for 6 weeks in preparation for vacation. I traveled to Thread and left with shapeless brows and two burn on my face from the wax. The owner advised me "don't touch it and put vaseline later". Such a generic response for a customer with not one but two burns on my face! You would think they would attempt to pacify me the least bit. I am disgusted! Don't bother. read more

The first time I came to the salon I got my eyebrows threaded and tinted which came out amazing but the tint came off in 4 days, I also got an eyelash lift which I had mixed feelings about because my left eye came out with a nice curl and the right eye had to be done twice because the first time it did not curl enough. The second time they curl the lash it was way too curly, and looked like an L which you get when curling with a eyelash curler instead of a C curl(more natural curl). Mind you two people did my lash lift because they were busy and over booked. The second time I came in for eyelash extensions praying it would fix the previous problem and have fuller lashes, instead I came out with weird looking lashes and they're falling out already and not just the normal fall out(about 7 eyelash's in my right eye which they previously messed up). Not to mention my natural lashes are falling out with the extensions and I can not brush the right eyelashes because they either fall or get stuck and it hurts. I had lash extensions before my lashes did not fall out that often and was able to brush them. I got my Brazilian was and I have high pain tolerance so it did not hurt a lot but the person doing the Brazilian wax did not ask what kind of wax I wanted, she did not hold the skin taut, and when I ask if she can pluck out the hairs that she did not get she said no because she was afraid to hurt me so I had to do it myself at home. While she was waxing me I noticed that she was double dipping and using the same wooden stick the whole time which is unsanitary. The overall experience was extremely bad except for the eyebrow threading and I literally wasted about more than $150 on their services, which sucks because I really wanted to like this place. I updated my review to 1 star because the owner reached out to me and the first thing she suggested was to remove my bad review and t would refund me the money, and then offered to compensate me with a free service, and the last thing she was concerned about was apologize for the bad experience I had. Extremely unprofessional! When I got the the lash lift I asked you if it was okay if I got lash extensions in a week and you said yes that it would not affect my lashes, but you liked how my lashes looked so you recommend not to because you wanted me to enjoy the lash lift. I should have received a refund even if I did not take the review down due to how bad condition my lashes were left, not only the extensions but my natural lashes as well. Now my natural lashes are weak, weirdly shaped and most of them are gone and it has only been one week. read more

Found this spot via an IG ad. All their photos of lashes and eyebrows looked great, so I decided to give them a try. The location was easy to find and the salon was small but chic. The lash esthetician asked what I wanted and showed me a whole chart with different lash lengths, thickness, and shapes. I asked for the volume set which was $70 for 70-80 pieces. I also ask for a cat eye shape. I told her since I had small eyes and shes the pro to help with the length and thickness. Well let me tell you when she was done, it looked like I had maybe 20 lashes on each eye. They were so sparse and had no uniformity at all. There was no cat eye shape at all. The length of these lashes reaches my eyebrows if I look up. I am totally disappointed. I complained as I paid because I was never going to go back. The cashier told me next to try the lash lift, " its better." Not the solution I wanted to hear. Someone called me within two mins to come back and fix them for me. She filled them in some more but still, it was not what I came in for. I have gotten my lashes done many times before in other locations and have never left so disappointed. Don't bother getting your lashes done there. In response to the owner at Thread- I had not done my lashes in 3 months, so you can not say that my lashes were weak or missing. Already visited this beautiful salon twice - the first time was a walk-in to thread my eyebrows and the second was an appointment I made for a Brazilian. Hetal took me very quickly upon walking in. She did my eyebrows & they came out beautiful!!! Liz (the sweet store owner) even complimented me & took a picture for their IG page. I quickly made an appointment for a Brazilian bc their prices are super unbeatable! I even arrived 30 mins late and Zara took me no problem. Super awesome!! They provide two kinds of soft waxes: honey & chocolate. Zara recommended the chocolate for me. She's been waxing for 10 years now, and I'll say that her technique proves it! She's super quick, considerate, and provides a painless experience! I've gotten all kinds of waxes from soft to hard to even sugar.
