I wish I could rate the front desk staff separately because they were horrible. I had an appointment and still had to wait 10 minutes PAST my appt time, the two girls were rude and of no help. You walk in straight to the front desk and give them your name and info and then they have you walk around the desk to where people are walking out to "sign in", yet when you pay and walk to the spot nearest the exit from the salon they ask you to walk around to the front near the door....totally backwards. When I asked if I could just pay from there I got the biggest attitude. Do business not realize that first impressions are everything? I was annoyed and unimpressed 2 minutes after walking in. The girl who did my eyebrows was great, efficient and she did a nice job. I'll try them again just because my "salon" experience was fine. What hurts more than threading? Nothing. That's what. I'm convinced that giving birth to triplets would hurt less. This was my first time, so maybe it will hurt less if I keep doing it. That's what my boyfriend told me when he plucked my virgin flower. And he was right! I'm hoping that threading follows this logic. Although, I can never imagine that it will actually feel good. Next time, I'm using the numbing agent. It is available to purchase separately. Probably worth every penny since I had tears welling up as the hair was being ripped from my face. I was recently referred by sister and she swore by this business and was somewhat in need of some attention to my eyebrows and upper lip...so I thought I'd check this place out. MISTAKE. I'm no threading connoisseur, but this was one of my worst threading experiences ever and will never return to this business. 1) the business was fairly clean, however managed by young staff and the space just seems over crowded with products, jewelry or just "extra". 2) the "threader" wasn't very friendly AT ALL. Didn't seem very personal nor gentle...which leads me to my next point. She was so rough threading my upper, I literally had an outburst mid thread "is there any way you can NOT thread so hard?!" She was literally digging the thread into my skin and in the crease between my nose and lip. She didn't really acknowledge my request and kinda gave a nonchalant "oh...ok" and continue to torture me. 3) I made a simple request that I did not want thin eyebrows...that was totally ignored...THIN AS LINES! *translation: not a happy camper 4) when my services were completed, she gave a me a dry "thank you" and walked away for me to walk myself to the counter to complete my transaction. I don't know about you, but I would have like to be walked out or at least to the counter to pay for my services. I spoke to the manager and gave her my opinion of the services I received. This used to be where I got my eyebrows done. Not anymore. It's a nice place. Clean, nice lighting and decor, etc. But I do not like the fact that they have all of their employees wait on the couch when it is slow. And their whole "extra growth" thing. What is that? I can understand if you have a mustache for an eyebrow. But I do not. I do not have thick eyebrows. Never have. It's pretty much genetically impossible. So it angers me to have to pay $14 for just my eyebrows (tip included) when I wasn't informed beforehand that I would be paying the extra growth price. There's also younger women there who go way too fast and snap the thread on your face, which pinches. One worker in particular snapped her thread about 15 times, didn't say sorry, charged me extra, and had a terrible attitude. That was the last time for me. After today, this may very well be the last time I come here. I have given this place a year to impress me and without a doubt, it hasn't. 1) they don't understand what an appointment means. I make a 3:15 appointment and I am not seen till 3:45 or 4. 2) what kind of place doesn't let you make appointments with a particular artist? The first time I came here, the girl I had left me with two different eyebrows. After a few people gave me different recommendations, I found lily (who is the only reason this place gets 2 stars) and I have to sit and wait 3) the staff at the front is the most idiotic group of humans I have ever dealt with. They are rude and quite disrespectful. They don't seem to understand that if customers aren't happy, they won't be back. And they also misquote times 4) they are not clean. My old eyebrow place used to mandate that each chair was sanitized before each customer as well as their hands. Doesn't happen here!! I went in there to get mehndi done today for the first time but I would probably never go back there again. The $20 design wasn't worth $20 at all. I walked out of there little disappointed and still tipped the girl for her time n effort. But still just not a good justice to the design they show you upfront. I've been been going to Threads for years and had a threading package with them for at least 2 years. Today, was my first negative experience with their service. I called in the morning to see if my lady was working today. I was told that she was, so I made the drive from Newark where I live to see her. I arrive and was told that it would be a 40 min wait. I opted to come back in 40 min. When I came, I was told that someone else was in her seat and I would be the next one and if I would wait. I waited. Then, I was told that my lady hasn't had lunch yet and was asked if I could wait another 30 min when she gets off. I said I would wait in my car but to not take me off the list. As I walk to my car, I was then stopped again asking if I could come back at 330 because she had another appointment that was "not in the system." I decided to go home needless to say frustrated that I wasted my time coming here since it was the only reason I drove up in the first place While I was there, I overheard one of the staff tell a client over the phone that if you had a package you could make appointments with your specific thread stylist. I have been coming here for years and have had a package for years and not once have I been given the option to make an appointment--neither on the phone or when I would check out of my service. Oppositely, I've been told in the past that I cannot make an appointment for threading and that they only take walk ins. I love my lady, and I will continue to go here, but if service like this continues, I will just end up going to the other threading place down the street. read more

This was my first threading experience and it was definitely an experience. I am happy to report that I still have all of my skin and my face isn't completely wigged out like it gets with waxing. I think the lady who worked on me was rougher than the other people, but this could be my imagination. However, I don't know if it's 'normal' for them to break the thread they're using 50+ times.... All in all, I'm happy with the results and only paid $35 for the full face service (includes eyebrows) and I will definitely go back. The full service took an hour. Ah! I can't believe i haven't written a review for my go-to threading place. This place is awesome. The receptionists are super nice, the place is clean and it even smells good! I don't have a specific person i go to everytime, i just take first available and they have all been awesome. $10 for eyebrows, probably the cheapest place i've ever been to get my eyebrows done. I had been waxing for years before i discovered threading and now i'll never go back. Waxing would always irritate my skin and it would stay red for an hour but threading is almost painless and fast. I've also tried their massages but it's pretty expensive and not worth it IMO. Their specialty here is threading and that's what i'm going to stick with. Oh, they also offer a variety of beauty products and jewelry at the front of the store that you can look at, which is great since the wait can be a tad long sometimes. read more

After being traumatized by past waxing experiences, I was a little wary to try another spa. This place is AMAZING! A very chic warm atmosphere with a friendly knowledgeable staff. The woman who waxed me (Brazilian) made me feel comfortable, and really knew her stuff. I was very impressed! I never knew a crotch wax could be a positive experience! They even waxed my best friend at the time, and she had the same great experience. The prices are great for what they offer. This place has a fantastic system in place... but for a first-timer it can be a bit confusing..... You can call for an Appointment or Walk In. As soon as you get there go the far left side of the counter and sign-in. I recommend walk in only for threading since its the fastest. Call for Waxing etc. They have various 'levels' of BK waxes - and nicely defined so that you can book it over the phone at work without everyone knowing you are getting your lowerparts cleaned up. "extended" "plus" "basic" etc. The 2 wax girls I have had are very very good. For eyebrow threading its like a cattle call - everyone is waiting and you are called and put in a reclining chair in rows with 4 other chairs - this place is almost always full of people. However, the ladies are all pretty darn good! They don't hurt as much as some other threaders I have been too. BUT I did find it confusing how much I had to pull and pry my eyebrow skin for them etc - I didnt mind it, but she seemed annoyed I didnt know what to do - JUST PUT MY HAND WHERE YOU WANT IT! For $12 bucks I will not complain though and would definitely return. In fact every experience here has been great. I may just try a massage next time..... Disappointing. I think I was unlucky and had a lady who didn't really care about her clients. I felt like she attacked my face with the thread. She somehow thinned my right eyebrow, the one that had more hair than my left eyebrow, and made the corner of my lips bleed. Never coming back. This is my go to place for eyebrow threading. Location is a little far for me but its worth it. Only $12 for eyebrow threading and upper lip. That's a great value, and I only have to go every 3-4 weeks. I've only had one bad experience here...one of the younger threaders misunderstood me when told her I like my brows THICK, she thought I said THIN! Oh lord. I had chola eyebrows. FML. I almost cried =( BUT Threads made it right and comped a free threading session on my next visit. Thank god I was able to fill by brows temporarily while mine grew back. So it wasn't so bad. I found this place on yelp, and it happens to be right across the street from my job. My eyebrows were in desperate need of professional attention, as they had not been cleaned up since October (well with a bit of plucking on my part). I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. The lady I had was nice. She asked me right away if I wanted my upper lip threaded too, which was slightly offensive as I thread my own lip and I thought it looked fine?!?!?! Anyways, one less star also because she kept "scolding" me on how sparse my left eyebrow was and how I should let it grow out. I went to threads yesterday morning. It was my first time there and went because the reviews were very positive. I walked in about 11am with our an appointment and was welcomed immediately. With in about 2 minutes they were ready for me. I can't remember the name of my threader, but she wasn't all that friendly but did a awesome job on my eyebrows. I would defiantly go back to her. The salon was small but very clean and for a Tuesday morning was very busy. But in and out of the place with in 20 minutes. I paid $17 to get my eyebrows done and my upper lip threaded. I've been going to Threads for about 8 months now and they are always super fast and very friendly. I like to call in advance to schedule an appointment. I've done threading before but never in such a contemporary, stylish salon. I've been going to Threads since they were in the old location. The ladies are all very sweet. They take time with my eyebrow shaping and design, but I don't think it ever takes longer than having it waxed and plucked. And my skin has NEVER been irritated from a Threads session. I am a former wax-on-wax-off brow and upper lip gal. After noticing my skin was taking a hit (breakouts, skin tears and darkening of the skin in waxed areas), I decided to venture in the land of threading. Conveniently located nearby the workplace, Threads is my go-to place for my threading needs; upper lip and brow. They accept walk-ins and take appointments. The entire threading staff is golden. Initially, I preferred one gal but found, after she was out one day, that any of the ladies available do a great job. Be sure to communicate to your threader how you'd like your brows. If you don't like your brows thin or heavily arched, tell them! I like my brows thick and natural so I tell them, "clean-up only." At the end of the threading process, you'll be asked if you'd like "calming cream" for any swelling and redness. If you say yes, you'll receive a mini-massage in the threaded areas. Though I've had the calming cream before, I opt out. I haven't witnessed hand-washing between clients. Aside from my germaphobe observation, I would highly recommend Threads. My mom, cousins and best mate get threaded here! The level of pain isn't bad (I have a high threshold). What's better than great looking brows and no mustache? I'm a believer! and now a threader! Oh where have I been this whole time? I'll tell you where: in the land of waxdom where you have red skin and uneven hair removal. Threading is my new obsession and I'm so glad it is because it rocks my brows, literally. I have now come in twice for threading services and I've been able to book an appt with ease. Threading takes half the time it takes to wax and is less painful in my opinion. For a threading newb, the folks here made me feel like I've been doing it forever--I'll admit the interaction and participation on my part was surprising at first when she asked me to please" hold the top of my forehead." With bewilderment I was doing what I was told in no time after the second try. LIke Duh Stephanie do as you're told. Soon as I got it down, I knew just when to hold my upper and stick my tongue in the inside of my lip. ;) They are fast and efficient and my brows look so good. Dare I say they've lasted for more than two weeks (longer than waxing? I dare. I've referred my sis to come here and will gladly tell anyone I know to try this place out. I wasn't sure about tips but I leave my tips with the person who does my threading. I went here to get my FIRST full face threading, and a facial.. Okay..WHY didn't anyone warn me that getting your face plucked like this "might" cause a person to have bumps? Okay, well..let me take that back.. they did tell me... AFTER they threaded my face, and right before I got my facial.. The lady doing my facial made a comment that first timers tend to get bumps, but she made a comment that my skin looked okay, not too irritated.. NOT! THANKS a bunch guys.. My face broke out in tiny red bumps all over both sides of my face, it took 4 days for my face to clear up. All in all, if I had stuck to just a facial and threading of only my eyebrows, I would have given this place 4 stars.. would I be back? I always come here to get my eyebrows threaded, and I've always had spectacular results. It's fairly painless, and the lotion-massage thing they give you afterwards is awesome! My favorite person to see if Bishnu, and I request her every time! The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. If you are a walk-in, you may find yourself waiting for 15 or 20 minutes because it gets pretty busy. The price is extremely reasonable for what you get. I've never had their other services though (only threading eyebrows and upper lip), so I can't speak on the other services. The reason why I'm writing my review now (after coming to Threads for over a year now), is because they were closed on a Monday and I went to the mall to get it done instead. BIG mistake. I'm writing this review with my right hand while the lady is waxing my left arm. How convenient it is that we can write reviews on our phones. I tried their threading back in the day for eyebrows but they didn't do that great of a job with it as I'm sure I lost an eyelash or two in the process. So I only come for waxes occasionally for arms and underarms. The wax temperature they use here is a lot hotter than most places, which I'm not a fan of, and occasionally there would be some wax strings that they miss and so you're sticky afterwards. Other than that though, this place is convenient, accommodates walk ins quickly, and does the job of removing the hair. read more

I've been going to threads for years, back when they were renting out a room waiting for their store to be done. My go to person is Ragini. She does my eyebrows perfectly, I'm always hesitent to let anyone else touch my eyebrows. I usually just walk in and request Ragini. There's usually a long wait for her. Another threader that I would recommend if you don't have time to wait for Ragini is Palavi. I went to her once when Ragini was on vacation. Threads also offers allot of spa services and hair services, I personally haven't tried them, but they look good. read more

I love coming here to get my eyebrows threaded because of the great service and price. I'll usually come in every month or so or if I have an event to attend because my eyebrows are naturally very light and do not grow too rapidly. The ladies here that do the threading are very gentle and always do an amazing job. I don't think I have ever had an issue with them over threading my brows which is nice. My favorite part of the session is when they apply their "calming cream" onto my eyebrows because they will give you a mini brow/temple massage. I visited this place last weekend for the first time, and I think I will be coming back. First off, it's kind of hard to find this place. I just stumbled upon it by visiting a cleaners place next door to it. It's like a diamond in the ruff. Haha...it truly is a gem for all the girly girls. The store has tons and tons of beauty products displayed everywhere. From Zoya nail polishes, to Moroccan Oil products, feathers for the hair....even fun costume jewelry and accessories as well. So my first experience for eyebrow threading. And it was all that I imagined. PERFECT!! There were a few bit of stings here and there, but that's because I'm not used to the process yet. BUT, the cleanliness of my eyebrows was phenomenal, the lady who did my eyebrows was very quick, and the shape of my brow.....the best. I told the lady don't do anything dramatic but to just clean up the eyebrow area. And she did just that. But when you thread it seems like the shape looks more prominent and more beautiful. Haha! After this experience I will never go back to waxing. This is so much better for the skin, and plus it eliminates the chance of getting burned. I definitely will be a frequent customer. This must be a place that really specializes in threading, not really pedicures. A pedicure plus, was $35 (base pedicure is $25) and I have had better done at Bollinger and Famous Hair and Nails for less, I can't recommended this place for nails, sorry. Also, nails were cut poorly, I can do a much better job. I'm not sure how this place has only one $ sign. I always have a hard time describing how I want my brows shaped. They're on the thicker side and I like then that way! But for some reason, whenever I say "keep them thick, just shape them" people translate that to "hack the hell out of them and leave a slender trail of hair behind." So I decided to give Threads a try and I'm glad I did! I walked in without an appointment and lucked out being seated with Neetha (I hope that's how you spell it). I told her I just want them shaped. She looked at my face for a few seconds and described what I wanted perfectly! And voila! Very nicely shaped brows that compliment my features. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I'm only reviewing their threading, I have not experienced any of their other salon services. I've been seeing the same lady for 2 years already and I love her. So I guess my review on the quality of work I get done is based on her skill. She keeps my brows thick, clean, and polished. She does a thorough job on my brows & upper-lip ($12). Threads is right off of the freeway so it makes it very convenient to get there. The waiting area is nice looking and there is ample parking in the shopping plaza. I actually don't mind the products there, it gives me stuff to look at. Sidenote: They carry this nail polish called ZOYA and I love it b/c it doesn't give me air-bubbles. My only complaint and why I gave them a 4 instead of a 5. I feel like their front-desk is a bit crowded and unorganized, there's like 4 girls in there at a time and alot of times they look frazzled. They only do walk-ins and no appointments so it sucks if you have somewhere to be and you don't know what to expect until you get there especially if I'm trying to see my lady and she JUST started a full-face threading........then I have to wait for that :( But overall, I am satisfied.
