Not really thinking this was a long term commitment I could not be happier. I stumbled upon this studio years ago through Google. I took a chance and called to make an appointment with an instructor to see what was offered and what my options were. As there are several options for you and/or your child I thought best to start personal one on one classes and I could not be happier with my choice. Not only has my child stuck with the lessons (personal) for years she has a great bond with her instructor; Aaron. He has been absolutely amazing with her! Not only does she have a higher self esteem she now stands up for herself and no longer takes "garbage" from class mates! The building it's - self is not your typical karate studio, it's very "rugged". Remember you are not there to enter a fashion show! It's exactly what I had wanted for her! Focus on what your lesson is vs. what belt or uniform you will be wearing. As you do have the option though, comfy clothes are best. As for the price you will not be able to beat the offers here. Not only is my daughter attending classes my husband also started attending ( you probably spend more in fast food a week than you will here ).. On a side note, let me say that my husband works out at a regular gym 5-6 days a week few hours a day and never comes homes as hyped up and sweaty as he does going to Tracy's for a half hour once a week. He will be the first to say WARNING: Aaron will kick your butt!! No mercy for the weak (haha). You learn a lot in a short period of time and the instructor will not continue on until he feels you are secure with what was taught and you are doing the moves correctly with no hesitation. Mark & Aaron do a wonderful job leading & teaching & the other instructors are great as well. Our kids (ages 5. 7, & 9) go to the group classes & have learned so much. It has made them more confident and they get a workout every time. My husband and I also take lessons & have learned so much. It never ceases to amaze me how knowledgable the staff is & how willing they are to teach anyone who asks. They train MMA fighters, cops, & regular people off the street like you and me. The icing on the cake is they have really great rates and plans to fit different budgets. I highly recommend this place.

I would have paid the price of admission just to hear the stories and scenarios Glenn experienced! There were two instructors: one to discuss the legal aspects of being a gun owner and one to instruct in handling a firearm. Although they talked for hours, it did not seem like such a drag because they were very personable. Things started to go a little left when it came time to visit the range. I was aware that the range was at a separate location from reading a previous review. However, this was not clarified during the registration process or openly until well into the class lecture. Of course one can ASSume that the range is at a separate location based on the type of building that the class is held in. It is obvious that the range isn't on-site. Still they should inform the class well ahead of time in case someone may not be willing or able to travel to the range. The range that we used was in Royal Oak, although the instructors did not seem committed to using any particular range... When the time came to go to the gun range we all met up there only to find that the range was closed due to a power outage. Obviously this was not the fault of the instructors, but it probably could have been avoided had they made a call even if just to confirm that it was okay to bring a group at that particular time... So our class ended up dragging on into the following day. There were 3 of us in the class and the instructor did give us the option to finish up that same day, but at a range that was slightly farther away. We opted to return the following day to finish the range portion. So for the day of the range training we had been instructed to meet at the building where the class was held only to get there and wait for other class members to show up and then we drove to the range. I was confused as to why we didn't just meet up at the range. I was initially under the impression that we were meeting at the classroom building because there was something else that he needed to review before we went to the gun range... The overall experience was fair. It obviously could have been better had there not been issues with the range set-up. I did enjoy the presentation of the instructors. I at all times felt comfortable at the gun range. The instructors both seemed very experienced with the laws and handling firearms. I never once felt intimidated with handling the guns or to ask questions in the class. I feel that the issue with the range, although could have been avoided, was an isolated incident and it doesn't impact the knowledge base of the instructors. In addition to the basics of gun ownership and CPL/CCW they initiated thought-provoking scenarios and other considerations for general safety.

My kiddos and I have visited Jaycee park twice while their summer program kids were there, and I'm truly writing as a warning to parents because I would be heartbroken if I had my kids here given what was going on behind the scenes. The number of kids running around screaming curse words and calling each other derogatory names was honestly a bit shocking. I notified one of the girls who seemed to be in charge, because one of the boys was being bullied and I felt for him. I was just told he was new and they knew he was a problem. As I left the park, one of the kids that was being loaded into their van screamed "suck it lady." The driver and girls didn't seem to flinch. The second day, there were no less than 20 kids (some as young as 5 years old because I heard them talking) and 1 girl in charge who couldn't be much older than 18. I've worked at many childcare centers and am a teacher. That child to adult ratio is absolutely not acceptable. Please raise your standard as a childcare establishment and parents please be aware.

Master Kim definitely has his style of teaching, and it produces champions, mental toughness, and forges (that word chosen intentionally) exceptional skill. There is something for everyone at Master Kim's. For example, the families of the highest Olympic Team athletes or those serious to make Tae Kwon Do a career - I have seen individuals and families fly overseas, or move across state lines just to be trained by Master Kim. We've all seen schools (I have anyway) where business and profit is the priority. Everyone feels like a champion and they produce black belts that you hope they don't encounter situations where they need self-defense. This is not Master Kim's school. He produces a level of skill and profound change so you can be successful in self-defense, become strong mentally, and be successful. He also has a lot of great Google Reviews.
