I had heard of Wagmore through a friend quite a while ago when the service was still owned and run by Diane. Diane and I had met, but I ended up not needing a dog walker until this month. When I went to the website, I found that the business had been sold and was now run by Bequita and Sam Dempsey. Bequita came and visited with my dog for a meet and greet and was super friendly and very tolerant with his overly-ecstatic greetings, face licking, and jumping. I decided to have her come take care of the dog, since he seemed rather fond of her. Bequita was fine with my changing schedule, my not being an every day customer, and whatever else I threw her way. She is a very flexible person. Every day, she left me a little note, telling me if my dog had peed or pooped, if he'd been good, and what the walk had been like. Her notes had a section where I could respond and write my concerns. When my dog was limping, she checked to make sure he didn't overdo it and wrote to tell me he was all right. She mentioned he seemed to be scratching a lot, so she brushed him to try to make him less itchy. Service has been great, and I know that while my dog probably missed his regular walker, he was in good hands with Wagmore. I'll be using this service again when I have evening hours at work. Training a service dog can feel overwhelming when you're looking at everything you need to accomplish, but they have a way of breaking it down into manageable steps. They were always willing to answer questions, explain the "why" behind the training, and make sure both Cooper and I were progressing together. We are so happy with the training and support we received from Tim and Katie! The one-on-one…read morein-home support was great and they are so responsive. The group classes are great for practicing and enhancing the skills taught. Our dog was so reliant on treats the he would steal and guard an item (growl and snap) just to get a treat. It was a seemingly never ending cycle. While we never thought we'd be open to a e-collar, the stimulation is really very low and effective. The first days were rough, trying to get our dog used to the collar and new commands. He was stubborn and very reserved during that time, but with some continued work he got used to the training and continues to respond well even when we have to take the collar off. Tim and Katie also include additional basic training for our 5 year old dog that he did not receive during his puppy training classes from another company. We use his new training all the time now. The implied stay is something we never knew was even possible! (Just have to remember to use the release word!) We decided the 2 week board and train would be best for our situation. Denali is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle mix and was jumping, barking, crazy Impulsive, eating socks, and paper things. Just 2 weeks of training and he was calmer, he would stay on a "place" his cot, he didn't drag me on our walks.
