Based on the positive Yelp reviews, I decided to take a chance and order a cake here versus another establishment for my husbands 50th bithday! I was not disappointed. I purchased a red velvet cake. when I picked it up it was partially cool from refrigeration, which was okay. The customer service at this location was great and they had a huge assortment of desserts in the display case to try...I must return for that. When the coolness of the cake thawed off and it was tasting time, the cake was very flavorful and moist. The only thing I didn't enjoy was I thought there was way too much cream cheese frosting on the cake and so did others who ate it. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. read more

I love supporting local but if you have any appreciation for quality baked treats I am not sure this place withstands the hype at all. We got 4 cupcakes that were so absolutely dry they just crumbled and disintegrated. They were so dry they sucked the moisture out of your mouth to a chalky heaving. As my spouse and I pulled into the parking lot, he remembered purchasing pastries. He said , " This is the place I purchased those nasty donuts and kolaches." All I could do is laugh because I remember him bringing me breakfast and it was so bad I asked him, " you paid for this?" We never returned, so much for breakfast in bed, but my husband made a good effort. I saw the cake reviews and figured the cake will be better than their pastries. I'm a simple gal, so I purchased a vanilla cupcake and my husband ordered the snickers cupcake. My husband eats anything, and after the first bite of snickers cupcake, he threw it back in the box and threw it away. Pros; taste fresh, nice presentation for each flavor, size, and price. Cons: not enough cake flavors offered considering its a bakery ( guess I'm used to sprinkles) , and the texture. The texture reminded me of the frozen pre-made cake walmart and sams use for their cakes. The cake was not soft or flaky, which seemed really odd. This place is definitely a step up from sprinkles, crave and all of those pop up, overpriced cupcake shops. I would return for vanilla cake, but I'm still on a quest to find the best cake in houston and have yet to find it. I have been so excited about this bakery opening! Fresh, clean, pretty and plentiful. And yet disappointed. I was honest with the helper behind the counter- "I'm a baker and I'm totally serious- what do you suggest, what will I love?" He said: the cupcakes. I'm certain my face fell. Really? Rows and rows of multiple cases of pastry and you suggest the cupcakes. Sigh. He could tell I was not impressed and therefore suggested the Gingerbread - because he doesn't even like gingerbread but thinks theirs is good. (Is that a good recommendation?) I asked for an eclair, a coconut cupcake, an almond bar and a gingerbread man and took a seat to nibble a bite or two of each. Mind you- I told him many many times, I'm a cupcake snob. But he insisted they were amazing. I should have been tipped off when my friend asked if the carrot cake cupcake had nuts and he didn't know and asked "the baker" and um, he didn't know either. Just so you know: the cupcake sucked. Sigh. Dry. Flavorless. Disappointment. The gingerbread was good. Not traditional. Had the spice of ginger but also was it - whole wheat? Good chewy texture. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. I tried the eclair and asked "what was in the custard or pastry cream" it had a flowery, maybe citrus hint. The bakery said again, I don't know, I'll ask. He asked the girl at the counter. He came back and said "vanilla custard." Dumbfounded. So I pushed: okay what kind of vanilla? He said Tahiti, no I just made that up, it's just vanilla." I was not amused. I loved the almond bar. Loved how moist it was. Loved the texture. Loved the almond flavor. So four stars. Decor, well stocked cases, variety, friendly service. We were so disappointed in the food. The bakery is clean and has a good atmosphere but it stops there. I asked if the cake slices were made the same day and they said yes. We had a slice of the strawberry cake and red velvet. They fell apart in our mouths like powder and had an extremely bitter after taste. It tasted like we were eating cake with soured ingredients and complete lack of flavor. For $6.50 a piece for a slice of cake, I would expect something edible. There is no telling how old the cake actually was but we will not make that mistake again. We also took home a half dozen cinnamon rolls (wrapped in Saran Wrap) and those were moist and flavorful the next morning after reheating in the oven. These were on the back wall and not in the glass case. The ones in the glass case looked extremely dry (just like everything else in the case. They had samples of the cookies and those were dry. There aren't many places on Washington for dessert and we were just highly disappointed. read more

I was incredibly disappointed by the cupcakes I bought here. I walked out after spending just over 30 dollars on 8 cupcakes and a snickerdoodle cookie and they were ALL dry. The snickerdoodle tasted like a sugar cookie, but with extra sugar and cinnamon on top. Just, no. I bought four cupcakes for a birthday gift to a friend and four for my family and was so embarrassed that I gifted something I wouldn't have even bought for myself had I know better. STAY AWAY, you're better off making some box mix cupcakes or buying some from your grocery store. I should've taken pictures of the beautiful and tasty treats that I purchased at Three Brothers Bakery but...it all happened too fast, lol. My friend from church told me about another friend from who purchased a rum cake from the bakery. She kept going on and on about this bakery and finally said we had to go. Needless to say, it didn't take much more to convince me, lol. When I pulled up into the parking lot, I was already thinking this has got to be good. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile 1st positive sign. The bakery smelled of freshly brewed coffee, 2nd positive sign, the bakery was so clean, the pastries were beautifully designed...3rd and 4th...we're on a roll here!!! I ordered a slice of key lime pie for myself and a cheesecake cupcake for my friend and (drumroll) the young lady gave me a LAGNIAPPE!!!! In New Orleans we call this a freebie and in Honduras we call it a chascada...we were happy campers, lol. Our treats were DELICIOSO!!!!! You guys have to check this place out...seriously! Yay! It's behind the comic book store in the back and across from Le Givral. Everyone was super friendly. They have ample seating, some sofas. Plus 1. fresh bagels - yum! did their everything today toasted with cream cheese 2. wow that red velvet cupcake was delish (albeit 3.95 is a bit pricey!) 3. they have cakes, coffee, tea (black tea was good, no sugar 2 bucks for a small one), patio that is DOG FRIENDLY!!! The moment you open the door and step in your senses (particularly smell) are engulfed. The design and lighting were given the proper attention and add to the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and courteous. And of course the most important part the goodies. I have a sweet tooth to begin with so my expectations are a little higher to begin with - I got a slice of the checkerboard cake. The icing was very delicious and complimented the cake very well. Tl;dr - this is an amazing little bakery that has a large DOG FRIENDLY patio and free wifi! Good, cheap coffee and snacks make it the perfect place for studying or remote work. I almost hesitate to write this review because I kind of want this place to be a secret...but alas, I feel I must proclaim its greatness to the world. This little family owned bakery has been around for a long time, but they've expanded over the years and now have 3 locations. I think this location on Washington is fairly new. I have driven by it so many times, but it's set slightly off the main road so it's not super visible. I didn't discover it until recently. It is a bakery, so they obviously do all kinds of cakes and sweets. I first came here to pick up a sugar free cheesecake for my mom's birthday. While I didn't actually eat any of it myself, everyone said it tasted amazing and they couldn't tell it was sugar free. While I was there picking up the cheesecake, I noticed they have a little coffee bar and some seating inside as well as a pretty large, enclosed patio. I have a dog, and I work from home, so I'm always looking for dog friendly places that offer wifi so I can come work with my pooch and enjoy some coffee and snacks. I just have to say, this place is awesome for just that! The patio is really big (and fully enclosed) and is equipped with tables with umbrellas as well as wooden benches with a strong cable running underneath, complete with carabiners to attach your dog's leash, water bowls, and even plenty of covered power outlets to plug in your laptop! It's a digital nomad's dream come true! The wifi is also superior to most of the other coffee shops I frequent, and did I mention how clean and tidy the whole place is? I was the only one out there the entire time, which is nice for privacy, but I wouldn't be opposed to sharing the space with a few other quiet workers and pooches. I purchased a cold-brew iced coffee with almond milk and a sausage kolache to munch on while I worked. It was all less than $4 and quite delicious! They also have bagels and all kinds of cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets-- but don't go there expecting a full meal. Overall, this place sells tasty sweets and good coffee. I have never heard of this bakery until a co-worker mention it, so I decided to give it a try because of the reviews. I made my order with a lady, we talk for quite a while. My indications were that I wanted a creamy filling and icing but I wanted the cake to be moist with a coffee flavor and to really make sure thats it not too sweet, sweetness must be very mild. So she mentioned okay let's do a creamy Chocolate ganache filling with a little bit of amaretto to make it taste like coffee. So then I sent her an email with my ideas and the image I wanted, and the image was supposed to cover the whole cake. This cake when I seen it ready it looked like a cake from any other simple bakery...so I was not pleased at all on how it looked so I said okay it must taste really good then and the chocolate is inside. This cake was picked up today 06/16 for the birthday. My boyfriend gets the first bite and I seen there was no chocolate and had him try it and he tried to fake it so I asked him is it good??? To just tell me and he said no, so I try it and tasted tasted like a bad Wal-Mart cake, my guest then try his slice and they asked me how much was it and I said $75. One of my guest said I could of made yours, she showed me the one she made and it looked way more presentable compared to mine. Not sure why this is so low rated. Is it nice inside selection of choices with a lot of flavors. I tried the Reese pb chunk cookies, snickerdoodle and raspberry hamantaschen. all of it was delicious. I've been here twice for dessert and once on a Saturday morning to grab breakfast, and I never leave disappointed. From a dessert perspective, my boyfriend and I have tried 2 of the cakes (both chocolate, but I can't remember the exact names), the black velvet cupcake, and the Oreo cupcake. My favorite was the black velvet cupcake, but only because I'm a sucker for cream cheese icing. It was amazing. The cakes were both great also. Just the right amount of sweet without being overly rich/dense. For breakfast, I would definitely recommend the kolaches and the almond croissant. So good! The croissant isn't something I would generally gravitate to, but it was a staff recommended pick and I'm glad I went with it. In addition to great food, the staff at three brothers is awesome. On every visit, the employees have been so friendly, willing to help, add their personal opinions on favorite picks, etc. Despite being busy, they always take the time to add a personal touch to your visit and make sure you leave satisfied. The only reason for the 4 stars as opposed to 5 is that I've only tried a handful of items and don't feel like I have the full picture yet. Will definitely continue to come here! read more

I was craving something sweet so I stopped by and took a look at their dessert counter. A lot of stuff looked good and I ultimately decided on a rum cake truffle and coffee cupcake. The cupcake was pretty dense and dry, not the heavenly light but moist texture I had hoped for. The rum cake ball was nothing special either. Honestly probably would not return to this place. Besides that, the one star was for the cheese pocket. It's my bad for not asking but the sign said cheese pocket so I assumed it was actual cheese like how they are in Korean bakeries. It was cream cheese. Why wouldn't you label it cream cheese pocket? For like $4 something it wasn't worth it. I ordered pies from Three Brother's Bakery for thanksgiving and their pecan pie was amazing!!! Their apple pie...EVEN BETTER!! I also ordered a pumpkin pie but was unable to try it as it had mold growing in it. They happily took it back and let me replace it with another pie, but no pumpkin pie was available. Their key lime pie, was fan-freakin-tastic. I will definitely order pies again for the holidays, and continue to order my bread!! This bakery just happened to be sitting near the restaurant a couple friends and I went to for dinner. We saw people do tinuouslt going on and out of the bakery and thought dessert was in order. This bakery come to find out, has been in the neighborhood for quite some time. There were great selections of cookies, cakes, pastries, etc. Coffee drinks were available for purchase as well. The staff was great and put up with my friends and I as we dive into our 10 year old selves who can't make a decision on sprinkles or jelly beans. But I ordered a 7 layer mocha cake slice(that lasted for 3 dessert servings) , my friends got a cream puff and Oreo cupcake. All of the items were tasty and also beautifully built. So my boyfriend got me a totoro carrot cake for my birthday.... it was god awful! Dry, stale and just fell apart as soon as we cut through it! Over priced bad cake. It was so embarrassing to even record, it looked and tasted like dry stale cake. Carrot cake is not supposed to look at taste like that. It literally fell apart infront of everyone. We happily stumbled upon this bakery around 8:30/9pm on a Saturday and were super excited for some sweet treats post-dinner. I ordered an oreo cupcake and it wasn't near as delicious as oreo flavored items usually are. I feel that what was missing was the crunchy-crunch of an oreo cookie crust. There was ample seating, and a variety of people visiting the shop from ages negative ten to full-fledged adult walked in and ordered sweets during our 30 minute visit. Coffee, espresso and non-caffeinated beverages were available for purchases at a bar but what was curious was there were no bar stools for customers to sit upon and enjoy their drinks at the bar. Terrible, terrible. They charged me $200 for a cake that could have been done by someone at Kroger. They charged me $5 to write 3 let's on a smash cake. In transit (when the box was vertical in the passenger seat) the front of the cake was destroyed because of their packaging. They told me I could take it to their main location (Braezwood) to get fixed. 610 S is shut down and the party is at 1. THERE WAS ALSO A HAIR ON THE TOP OF THE SMASH CAKE. Because of the way they package their cakes, it is impossible to see anything before you get it home. They will not do anything compensation wise. Crooks and not even subpar work. I have been craving eclairs for weeks but they are hard to find. I was thrilled to find that Three Brothers Bakery had eclairs AND they were open on a Sunday afternoon (until 5:00). The éclair shell and custard filling were absolutely delicious. There was a little too much chocolate on top for my taste but I simply scraped some of it off and enjoyed the rest. The éclair was a cheat snack since I try to follow Keto eating most of the time. To my pleasant surprise this bakery also had sugar free cheesecake. The cheesecake is also a winner. I think they also have sugar free brownies but I typically don't go for that much chocolate. If it had been a blondie I would have tried it. For my Son's very first birthday I was so excited about the plan for a 1/2 blue sky sheet cake and smash cake. They said they would make the smash cake a "cloud" and it would be so cute. When it came I was mortified! Me and my friend tried this place on a whim when we were in Houston, it was worth the trip. The space inside is big, service was great and the staff are very friendly. I didn't know that Three Brothers has more than one location in Houston and that they're so famous. They don't just cater to parties and charities, they cater to huge events like a game or premier event for example. Three Brothers Bakery has so much sweets, I couldn't take my eyes off them and stop looking for more items. They do specialty designed cakes and cookies for parties and the holidays. Everything is made by hand and served nicely plated. My Death by Chocolate cupcake was super moist and delivered in flavor and sweetness. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. I'm definitely coming back here the next time I happen to be in Houston. read more

I will be back often! When we walked in we were excited that there was no one else in the store so we could take our time looking and drooling at the treats. Our kids immediately zoomed into the cupcakes that were the perfect size for them. The food coloring frosting and toy on top had nothing to do with it, I'm sure. Haha My husband couldn't decide on which of huge cupcakes he wanted so he bought two, the hostess looking cupcake and the Reese's cupcake.
