Good God, guys. Sooooo good. The cutest place with just the best breakfast sandwich. Mine was -eyes roll-into-the-back-of-her-head good. Try the bacon egg and cheese sandwich on Texas toast. My husband had the chicken biscuit with hot honey and it was are-you-kidding-me good. You'll need napkins. The service was sweet and super kind in explaining the other pastries available. The restaurant is in a 100 year old building and there is more seating in the area next door. If you need a place to study or just have a nice breakfast in Indy, this is it. Plus-the music was a vibe. Loved!

It's no secret that accessibility is an important issue for me. As a wheelchair user, I base a lot of my reviews on accessibility issues and I've had more than a few messages from Yelpers who appreciate my perspective on such matters. This can be a challenging thing to approach since I also tend to have an affection for historic buildings - notoriously inaccessible. While I have a bit of a reputation for docking a business a star for lack of accessibility, there are occasional exceptions when a business wows me enough that I still fork over that fifth star. Case in point is today's visit to the Holy Cross neighborhood's new kid on the block, Three Dolls Cafe & Cakery. Located within the complex that used to house Angie's List, Three Dolls is located in an East Washington Street facing building almost directly across from Futuro. There's fairly decent parking here, though it's also fair to say businesses around here are seriously territorial about their parking. So, you do want to stay within the Three Dolls parking area. I will admit that I almost backed out of Three Dolls. I knew there was a bit of a significant lip at the front entrance, and I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make it in a wheelchair. Truthfully, that concern was warranted. It's not quite a step - but, it's more than a lip. It's more like a half-step. As I get older, jumping curbs and steps gets a bit harder and I found myself nervous about trying this in the particular chair I was using today. This is where the magic of "Three Dolls" began. A customer at the counter (which is only a few feet from the entrance) could tell I was struggling a bit. She opened the door for me, then she further aided me up that step. I got inside. To be honest, I was confused if we went to that front counter or went to the side (you go to the front). I waited. I checked out the menu - a combination of breakfast/brunch fare along with a variety of baked goods and cakes. I initially ordered an item that had just been sold (Darn. It looked amazing.). This storefront is narrow - don't expect rows and rows of baked goods. This is more what I'd call a boutique cakery. The woman at the counter was super friendly. I ended up ordering a chicken biscuit and an iced coffee. This is a small storefront as one other reviewer noted - no more than a half-dozen tables with all but one having only two chairs. That said, it is amazingly comfortable. I had the most delightful conversation with this team about access. There was such sincerity in their words and their actions - they even talked about how one back entrance curb got messed up. We came up with a plan to allow me to exit in a safer way. I sat inside and had my chicken biscuit (with this delightfully spicy honey. Oh my.). It was a stunner. I sat at a two-top. Customers were friendly, employees were friendly, environment was warm and inviting. Yes, access is an issue. I doubt a power chair could do it, however, my manual was able to make it happen with a bit of an assist and tremendously welcoming employees. Access issues happen. It's how they get dealt with that makes or breaks a business. Three Dolls was warm, welcoming, honest, and helpful. As a fun fact, apparently the current owners' great grandparents owned a confectionary in Elevator Hill 100 years ago in this some area. That's awesome. East Washington Street construction is still going, though it has lightened up a bit (it helped that I was visiting on a weekend). However, even with a little difficulty this is a delightful little place that deserves some Yelp love. Sometimes, a business can make someone with a disability feel like a burden. That didn't happen here. Bravo, Three Dolls. I'll be back.

I live on the near eastside so I have been waiting for three dolls to open as soon as I heard about them getting a store off of Washington St. I have visited probably at least five times since they've opened because it's walking distance from my home and I've been pleasantly surprised each time. They have a plethora of sweets and pastries to order and they also have a killer chicken biscuit. The chicken biscuit is fried to perfection and the hot honey really packs a punch. I think right now my favorite pastries are the cannolis. They are so creamy and crunchy and everything you expect and more in a cannoli. They often have different flavors, but they go fast so being there early is really important. The area is small within the restaurant, but they do have some picnic tables outside that you can enjoy your food at. I know they are working on making the layout as ideal as possible because it's changed a couple times. I've been in there, but I am happy that they are in the neighborhood and they are able to provide such delicious options. I've seen that they do cakes and I'm sure I will be approaching them for an upcoming birthday. I definitely recommend coming in, but be aware that they don't really have any latte options so if you're OK with the black cup of coffee or one of their delicious mango orange juices than you are in a good spot.

This space is absolutely adorable. It is small with limited seating but makes for a cozy atmosphere. The staff were so sweet. I ended up ordering the chorizo biscuits and gravy and a Shirley Temple which I thought was a cool thing to have on the menu. The chorizo biscuits and gravy were really good and filling. The Shirley Temple was sweet and refreshing. I ordered a pecan pie tart to go with it since they are known for their baked goods and pastries (it was delicious).

First of all, the ambiance when you walk in is absolutely gorgeous! Their pastries and desserts looked incredible and they have a breakfast and lunch menu along with a drinks menu. Everything we ordered was made fresh. The loaded tots bowl was amazing and a great portion and the chicken biscuit was well seasoned and the chicken was perfectly cooked. And the service was perfect - the two women working greeted us right as we walked in and were so patient with us checking out the whole menu for the first time. Highly recommend this absolutely hidden gem to anyone in the Indianapolis area!

Delicious bakery, fantastic help, parking lot next to the building. Gluten free cookie made me so happy since some of my coworkers are gluten free. Everything we had was amazing.

Such a cute, cozy spot near futuro! Current construction makes it seem way more complicated than it is, but there is plenty of nearby parking on the street or in various lots. The space is small (5ish tables that are meant for 2 but can squeeze 3), but packed with adorable decor and lots of awaiting flavor. I was looking for a new pastry spot and Three Dolls certainly fulfilled that goal with lots of yummy offerings from cakes to pop tarts. I appreciate that they had a nice mix of sweet and savory options - I *had* to try the chocolate cake, but I'm coming back for the jalepeño and cream cheese danish!

Walked in for a late lunch a few minutes before close on Valentines day. Most of the desserts sold out as expected but we did want savory anyways. They had two lunch specials: chicken Ceasars salad sandwhich and a smashed burger with jalepenos, Chipotle sauce, fried onions. Both were delicious!! Unique with perfectly balanced toppings. Chicken fried to perfection and the burger just melt in your mouth. Highly recommend checking out this cute little space. We were told they would be expanding for more seating soon!

Dear reader,…read more Bovaconti Coffee in Fountain Square remains one of my favourite coffee shops, and we stop there whenever we come to town. It is the sort of place that feels special the moment you walk in. A lot of people rave about the beautiful space, and quite right too. The shop has a gorgeous, old-world feel in a historic Fountain Square building, plenty of seating, and a lovely outdoor area that is very dog friendly. The staff always boast a delightful disposition that makes you want to smile and enjoy the rest of your day as well. As for the coffee, I love the iced Mayan Mocha. It is like a mocha with a kick and extra flavour depth, and it is absolutely delicious. The dark chocolate, honey, cinnamon, and cayenne give it a little warmth and complexity without losing the joy of a proper iced coffee treat. They also have some really high-end pastries to choose from. I love the lemon loaf, and some of the more complex, unique pastries make it feel a bit more elevated than the average coffee stop. Overall, it is clean, beautiful, welcoming, and always worth the return visit.

It is a bit challenging to find parking but there are a few spots in front. I parked down the street and walked which is always an option. There are a few stairs to get in but also a ramp, and the set up has a nice aisle like space for the line and plenty of tables and chairs. It can be quite loud so keep that in mind if you want a quieter reflection time, and maybe take it to go or sit outside. They have various food items but I absolutely LOVE their peanut butter energy balls! In fact that is why I came to this location as this is where the magic happens. They make them here and send them to other Tinker locations! They are the perfect blend of savory and a tad sweet and go super well with their coffee and/or London Fog tea. Yum! I will freely admit to buying all they had on hand, and now can enjoy them at home. Yay! It is a very busy spot so not the friendliest of staff, but assumed they were already hassled from the morning. It was a great spot to meet a friend and enjoy the patio and some tea/coffee. I would for sure go back and even bring a friend! In fact I've already mentioned it to several people as a potential meet up spot! Definitely something to enjoy!

Unfortunately the service is very hit or miss…read more The last time I went in which was in the late afternoon last Saturday, the barista was great! I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. I also ordered a lemon mint refresher, but they were out of mint so it would just be a lemonade. That was fine and I appreciated how she handled the situation and that she knew what Prufrock did and did not have in stock! She was great at communicating when I walked in that she needed a few minutes and then would be able to help me too. Another time I went with my parents on a late morning Saturday. My mom and I both loved our drinks, but we knew what to order. There were multiple people working behind the counter, but the barista taking orders was not friendly or very helpful on this particular day. My dad did not know what to order and asked what tea is refreshing and is one that the barista would recommend. The barista said that the green tea is really popular, but did not ask whether he wanted it hot or iced or give a recommendation for that. The tea came out hot on a hot day where we planning to walk the Monon and check out other local businesses. To be fair, I did ask him if he wanted me to ask for the drink to be remade or to get him a new one as I had overheard his order and also assumed it would be coming out iced. He said it was fine (but then complained on our walk). This was a bit disappointing. There have been times I have walked out after a few minutes of no acknowledgement from baristas here. It is not a cafe that I would want to sit in and work in as a lot of the space does not look workable. The last time I did come in with papers I planned to read in between appointments, I did not want to put my bag on the floor or my papers on a table because both were dirty. The book page wall has seen better days and would benefit from a revamp. I love the outdoor area though and the can tops are really cool. There is a lot of potential here, but when staff appears like they do not want to be there it makes customers not want to be there either. I would also urge the owners to be more receptive to criticism. The TikTok videos about Prufrock did not influence my review, but it did encourage me to leave my own review based on my own experiences.
