    Mongolian chicken
    Wendi K.

I love what they've done with the place. Very cozy spot with a TV. I ordered the chicken Mongolian with the expectations of loading my own bowl with tons of veggies. Nope! There is a list of veggies that are included and you just let her know what not to include. I was little concerned about how the food would come out because the cooking technique was a little simplified compared to the previous owner. The food is still cooked on the large wood stove. It was more like cooking on a griddle technique. BUT! I must say the food was good. It did remind me of yakisoba. Had tons of flavor. Carrots were delicious and sweet. Right amount of spice. I only wish the portion size was a little bigger for the price and that they had pineapple. Recommend!!

3rd visit to THE NEW & INCREDIBLY IMPROVED, THREE FLAMES BBQ. Javier & amazing Chef Anthony presented us with many culinary delights. Two of which were the Seafood Mongol BBQ, the other the hands down best & most creative CrispyPork Belly Taco Ever. It great to have a new great go to restaurant in our Westchester neighborhood. Thanks Frank & Staff from Monica & Bobby. BTW, really booze as well!

So what do you get when a family takes over an old school hole in the wall Mongolian BBQ restaurant in a strip mall on a quiet stretch of Manchester Boulevard in Inglewood and brings in a Michelin-starred chef to create a Mexican-inspired menu of tacos and tostadas? Magic, Kevin. You get magic. My wife read about Three Flames on NextDoor, a website I generally hate, but this time it was a score. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Frank, who introduced himself as the husband of the owner. He immediately made us feel welcomed and proudly gave us a brief history and walked us through the menu. The small dining room is adorable and the vibe is impeccable. The other patrons were friendly and welcoming. It's not fancy. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. And the food! We ordered the fish taco, the scallop taco, the albacore tostada and the beef Mongolian BBQ. Everything was delicious. My personal favorite was the tostada, which was awesome with a drizzle of the house pineapple habanero hot sauce. My wife had a hard time picking a favorite, but really enjoyed the BBQ, which comes as a dish, hot off the grill and was one of the best versions I have ever had. The bottom line is that we spent a lot of our dinner talking about who we could bring with us next time. It was a long list and we can't wait to come back and continue working our way through the menu. But honestly, you shouldn't take my word for it. You should check it out. Not only because the food is amazing, but also because supporting small family run businesses is more important now than ever.

Before I added the sauce! Very Delicious

I really liked the vibe and the food was next level. I had a few things and the item that stands out to me was the albacore tostada, amazing in every sense of the word. I recommend this to anyone who likes great service and crazy good food...

Franks way burger with crispy fries

We had the albacore tostada, the ceviche tostada and the kids had the burgers. Everything was very flavorful! Definitely coming back to try the tacos . Anthony the chef was fast and friendly . Great music and the Dodger game was on! Cozy seats, nice decor.

    Great Menu!!!

Great Food!!! Delicious Tostadas!! Service is awesome!! I love the TV to watch Dodgers games!! Thank you Three Flames!!!!

Nice cold beverage with a mixed seafood tostada.

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2007. Yes it's under new ownership but the original noodle dish still is made . In addition new items have been added like seafood tacos and tostadas . You can come alone or with a group and mix and match dishes and enjoy your dining experience. Because that is in fact what has been created an experience you will all love . I will continue to support and look forward to trying all of the new dishes. Thank you for the welcoming service.

During that entire time, the employee never brought me a menu, offered me a drink, or made any effort to serve me. The restaurant was nearly empty--there were only four other customers, and they were already eating--so being busy was clearly not the issue. Instead of welcoming and assisting a new customer, the employee chose to focus on selling wallets near the display case while I sat there completely ignored. I came in ready to eat and spend money, but after being treated like I was invisible, I simply left. No matter how good the food may be, it does not matter when a customer cannot even get a menu. If the staff is this uninterested in serving customers, then it is hard to understand why the restaurant is even open. A terrible first impression and definitely my last visit. I would not recommend this place.

Unique, traditional Mongolian dishes with wonderful service. It's so cool that you can see that the restaurant is a hub of culture and community as well. SoCal Mongolian community loves Arag. They have karaoke nights and other events that support the community (I think an attorney who works with the Mongolian community does events here too), so that's always a plus in my book. Love all of the traditional decor and knick knacks here as well as the M-pop and music videos that they play on TV too. We managed to find free parking nearby, so it is possible. For our later lunch, we got the: 1) Mongolian Hot Tea: -This was a salted milk tea when I had it. Very unique and the slight saltiness with the sweet milky taste is refreshingly different from other places. Definitely a bit of an acquired taste but I like it whenever I have it. 2) Deep Fried Flat Dumplings (Khuushuur): -Comes with 3 pieces, it's deep fried dumplings with your choice of protein in a crispy dough shell. We got the lamb offal since it's the most unique one that they had. I don't usually eat organ meat but this wasn't too iron-y or ammonia tasting like other times I've had organ meats and was seasoned to perfection. No weird texture either. -Every culture has some form of dumpling/hot pocket-esque food that is delicious and super easy to eat. This is a popular street food in Mongolia and you can easily see why. Moist delicious seasoned meat in a crispy dough shell? Say no more. -Comes with a small side of their slaw salad. 3) Smoked Stir-Fried Noodles with Beef Brisket: -This was our "main" entree with carbs and protein. -It's smoked Tsuvian (actual name of the dish) with traditionally prepared hand pulled and pan fried noodles, made with beef brisket and julienne carrots, zucchini, and homemade salted chives. -It's a simple dish you can find in many other cultures but the seasoning, the way the noodles are prepared, makes it delicious in it's own way. Perfect for those who want to try something new, but don't want to dive off of the deep end so quick. 4) Steamed Soup/Bituu Shul: -This is a traditional sealed soup with tender mutton, slow cooked in a sealed pot with wild herbs, garlic, and ginger. -Super unique dish and very eye catching. Seeing this on the menu I had to get it. You can drum the top of the dough with your spoon like a drum. Pretty fun! -It's a very flavorful broth soup that has a strong flavor of lamb and herbs. Perfect for a cold day or if you're feeling a bit under the weather. The dough pieces make for nice "pasta like noodles" for the soup. Lots of lamb meat pieces in it too. Definitely recommend, but next time I want to get borscht too since it's one of my favorite soups. A must for unique and delicious food!

You don't come here for the announce but you definitely come for the food. I was really impressed…read morewith the quality of the frozen beef here. They offer other meats including lamb, chicken and pork as well but I stick with the beef. It's your usual Mongolian style bbq where you pick what you want and they grill it up for you on the flattop. Rice, egg drop soup, and pocket bread is included. The pocket bread is incredibly thin and not soft and puffy as other places that I have been to. The egg drop soup is also rather bland. Again, within expectation. The reason I'm giving this place 5 starts is because the quality of their beef is really good. You can claim that all frozen meat is the same but it's not. This place has better beef (I can't make the save claim for the other proteins) than a lot of places that I've been too and they have a decent enough selection of sauces. The options I believe are there for the usual veg and accoutrements (e.g., bean sprouts, bell peppers, onions, cabbage, carrots, jalapenos, tofu, noodles, etc). If I'm in the Pasadena area again and I'm craving Mongolian BBQ,I will definitely come back here. The owners were very nice and made me feel welcomed. Very homey, mom & pop feel. Support your local businesses when they're good! Beware though, this place is located in a tiny strip mall with even less parking.

Highly recommended! Location 4 stars: On the SE corner of Vanowen and Corbin in Reseda, CA, in a strip mall. Free self-parking on the lot and the surrounding streets. Venue 3 stars: A little run down, but that kind of adds to the charm. Indoor tables and booths. No outdoor seating. Service 3.5 stars: Friendly and helpful staff but not very attentive! They are always short-handed, with one (very nice) lady taking care of the entire dining area and also acting as the greeter and the casher! Drinks 4 stars: Bottled beer, wine, soft drinks (Pepsi products on fountain with free refill and Coke products in cans), tea and coffee. Basic but sufficient. Food 4 stars: Typical Mongolian Barbecue setup which became popular in LA in the 80's... The tradition continues here. You get a bowl of protein and add your own veggies, noodles and sauces at the self-service station and hand your bowl to a cook who stir-fries it on large dome. You get a variety of meats to choose from (Beef, Chicken or Pork - I usually get half chicken-half pork). They have lunch specials, a la carte items and All You Can Eat. It used to be (before Covid) that you also took the meat from the self-service station and you pile up as much meat in any combination as you could fit one time in your bowl, but those days are long gone. You also get rice, bread (a.k.a. pocket biscuits - delicious!), fried wontons, fried (breaded) shrimp and egg rolls, depending on which item on the menu you select. They also have fried rice and a coupler of desserts to be ordered as separate items, but I have not tried them. One thing I have noticed is that their portions continue to get smaller and smaller... The amount of rice I got this last time around was ridiculously small... about the size of an ice cream scoop :D

Honestly, I'd never tried Mongolian barbecue before, but this first experience blew me away. I'm so glad this place exists; I love supporting local businesses, and this one deserves a bigger spotlight. It's tucked inside a shopping center, surrounded by other stores, but parking was a breeze. I went on a weekday around noon, and they have a great lunch special which is $15.99 for one plate, or you can get the all-you-can-eat option for $21 or if you go for dinner time. I was torn between this and my usual craving for beef and broccoli from Panda Express, but I'm so happy I chose this spot. Once I walked in, a super friendly lady greeted me. she was fantastic. She explained the menu, walked me through everything, and you could tell she treated every customer like a VIP. The concept is so fun: you fill a bowl yourself with your choice of meat: chicken, beef, pork, or bacon and then veggies like broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and more. You can pick exactly what you want, and they cook it in front of you in no time literally a minute or two. The fact that everything is fresh, and you can see every ingredient, made it even better. Plus, she surprised me with a little sesame seed topping and brought out a fresh bread with a sweet-and-sour dip which was really good. For just $16, it was an absolute steal. And she even mentioned a senior discount, which is a great touch. The decoration and table/chairs are a little outdated but no big deal. I left feeling so satisfied. this place is a gem, and I really hope more people discover it and keep it thriving.
