i've eaten in person twice and also had delivery a few times - overall I think it's a good option at a decent price. Most recently I went for lunch and had their 2 crispy taco combo - it was tasty and the rice/beans were also good. I've had their guacamole in the past and I wasn't a huge fan - it wasn't worth the price. The interior of the restaurant is really cute, during covid they had outdoor seating but it is no longer an option. Parking is easy as it's in the same plaza as Ralphs. Service was excellent and very attentive refilling water, etc.,

A cup of the pazole. Absolutely perfect on a chilly evening.

I'm shocked to discover I never reviewed this place, it is a neighborhood favorite. The food is always incredible, and the service is friendly.

What a super pleasant surprise it was to find Don Chuy's! I'm never one to pass up Mexican food and this was the perfect little spot for lunch. Dropped off Josh the dog at the groomer and was looking for a nice lunch somewhere. Lucky for us, Don Chuy's was in the same parking lot and quickly headed in. Arrived around 11:30am and took a look at the menu. The lunch specials stood out the most for their great pricing. We opted for the Torta (which was gigantic) and the carne asada plate (not on the lunch menu but after the gym session i had, steak was calling my name). Both were great and flavorful. I really enjoyed my steak, they seasoned it perfectly. We also grabbed a few Modelo's to round out our great little lunch, always a good choice. Nice little lunch at Don Chuy's. Food was good and I love a good excuse to hang out in a nice booth. If Im ever in the mood for mexican food, this is a great option to add to the list.

    Shrimp fajitas ,guacamole

I ordered guacamole, shrimp tacos. We also ordered beef and chicken fajita on an excellent meal. It was very tasty. Would recommend recommended to anyone.

Great service, food and prices. My wife introduced me to this place when we first began dating. She and her family has been going there for years. It has since always delivered when we go. The food is made with love and the flavors are distinct even though the dishes are staples. Take away or delivery Don Chuys is consistent with its freshness in ingredients. The interior is fun to eat at because if it's not busy you feel like you're eating at home. The tables are nice, sturdy and combined with a taller chair it was a surprisingly rare dining experience you wouldn't expect. Service was great, punctual, friendly and professional.

I judge any Mexican restaurant by their refried beans... these were DELICIOUS!! I loved the chips and pico they bring for the table. Had the hard shell taco plate; ground beef and asada. Both DELICIOUS!! Not too noisy and they had the Dodger game on. Service was great!

Went in alone, after some errands great service, great food, and clean! Loved this place. Everyone was super nice, welcoming and efficient very inexpensive and they have happy hour and takeout deals. Was pleasantly surprised amazing stop before errands. Definitely will be back

My husband and I went here for the first time . Very nice restaurant. Ambiance is great Good was decent. The reason I give 3 stars is because case the chimichanga was super dry to my husband . He thinks it needed more meat. Also it seemed as if we were waiting around d a lot for assistance- we noticed that "take out/ to go" was really busy and that seemed to be their main focus. All and all had a great time:-) and you can't beat 99 cent tacos for taco Tuesday !!!!

    Machaca con Huevos

love this Mexican restaurant -- it feels like a true family-owned spot. The warm, welcoming vibe matches the amazing food. The highlight for me is the homemade tortillas -- fresh, soft, and full of flavor. I've been searching for a place that serves great Machaca y Huevos, and I finally found it here! The dish was perfectly seasoned and the portion generous. Pair that with their homemade tortillas, and it's just yummy. If you're looking for authentic, homemade Mexican comfort food, this is the place to go. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

This is a small place in a Culver City strip mall with a Ralph's and Denny's. The servers were responsive. Great Taco Tuesday special! Food was tasty. Drinks were meh.

Caldo de pollo to go with accoutrements.

My husband and daughter were sick so I ordered the caldo de pollo for them to share. It was a generous portion in a 32 oz. container for about $15 or so with tax via DoorDash. The soup was very comforting with a generous portion of well cooked chicken and came with separate containers of chopped onions, cilantro, rice, and limes to add to the soup. They also included some chips! This was actually my first time having this type of soup so I don't have much to compare it to, but when I looked at what ingredients this soup should contain--corn and potatoes were always listed, which this didn't contain. We were expecting corn and potatoes so this was somewhat disappointing (bringing the rating down from 4 stars to 3) but would order this again when under the weather.

We loved the old-school vibe immediately. We arrived around 4:45 and waited only 5-10 minutes. Then we saw the fresh tortillas being made and thought, "This could be good!" The atmosphere was relaxed, with full table service and great chips and salsa. We ordered a plate of fajitas to share and a shredded beef taco. Funny enough, I thought I was ordering a taco platter, but one lonely taco arrived on a bed of shredduce. Thankfully, it was excellent. A good shredded beef taco is surprisingly hard to find, and this was my favorite part of the meal. Overall, the food, service and atmosphere were all great. I'll definitely return. I found a parking spot behind the restaurant that felt a little sketchy, but it worked. I'll probably look for street parking next time. 4.5 stars

I'm from Mexico and when I first moved to the US what I first noticed was that tortillas fall apart here and are bad quality. But at madre you can tell that the tortillas like for the memelas are made in house and are excellent quality with good masa, not just like maizena. The servers are always great, my boyfriend and I love this place. This is where he had chilaquiles for the first time with tasajo and he will eat them elsewhere but nothing compares. The chilaquiles are awesome, better even than many places in Mexico. Good quality ingredients and stuff that you don't find everywhere- huitlacoche, chapulines, etc. When I brought my mom and dad my dad was eating and paused and told me he had forgotten he was in the US for a second and that it felt like home. Love this place a lot and couldn't recommend it more highly. I was reading the reviews from others and it seems clear that this place resonates with people who appreciate the diverse and multi layered tastes of Mexico and who know about the nuances of the cuisine beyond tacos and margaritas. If you want cheap tacos and a margarita this is probably not the vibe. I don't know why people come to a restaurant that has unique and specialized Oaxacan cuisine like the amazing mole and great salsas and hard to find ingredients like huitlacoche and chapulines only to buy like an asada taco and a margarita... lol
