Torta ahogada
Ev P.

Torta ahogadas are the best! It's hard to find them where I live. The regular sauce and the hot sauce you wet it with are flavorful! So glad I found a spot that has them.

My Asada bowl and Yogi hoping I'll share...
Christi I.

Wow!!!! We ordered late night and the food was very delicious and well seasoned. I made my own bowl with Mexican rice, refried beans. Guacamole, Carne asada etc. It was very delicious and filling. I wasn't able to finish it all. My daughter got the burrito with ground beef and she really enjoyed it. The Strawberry Horchata is very refreshing and delicious. I just wish my food came to me hot and not warm. We ordered delivery and while the food came faster than anticipated, it was already cooled off by the time we dug in. I will order from them again regardless. I love Mexican food!

Okay if you're in the Culver City area you are lucky to have Mexican burrito and beyond nearby! They catered my charity event on the weekend and I popped by after to get some food for myself! The bacon wrapped burrito is to die for! You gotta try it out yourself! Everything tastes very fresh and made with love and care! They are available on all delivery platforms and if you're in the area you can even order at the front of the cloud kitchen! Really good spot! Def worth trying out!

I tried enfrijoladas for the first time ever and let's just say it was more than I expected. I highly recommend it, not only is it delicious but gives you a new concept of Mexican food. Makes you appreciate the diversity of food that exists in Mexico and will have you craving for more! *Chef's Kiss*

Mexican Burrito and Beyond really overpassed my expectations with their Burrito Percheron and their Albóndigas Mexicanas! Yummmm! Their Torta ahogada is magically delicious! Their bread is absolutely crunchy but yet juicy! Really looking forward to trying new items from this place!

Tito's is a little pricey if you get anything more than their flagship tacos. Having said that, I…read morenever had a better beef tacos and these are the full size corn tortillas not the smaller street truck size. I usually get 2 of them because as I said, they are grande. The only thing is they come with too much cheese. Can you believe that :). So, what I do is share the cheese between the two. The tacos come with a tub freshly made tomato salsa and another tub of fresh chopped jalapeños in another tub. You mix the two for your preferred heat. I'm telling you, you won't get a better taco and or toppings. What's also comes in the box are freshly made corn tortilla chips generously poured on top. Now I'm usually full after the tacos so I'll put the chips back in the box, put the lid on it, and leave them on the counter until the next day where I'll put them on aluminum foil and add cheese on top and put it in the oven at 300° for 5 minutes to where the cheese is perfect and any staleness is gone...

The horchata is pretty pricey as well. I could get 1 gallon of horchata for the price of 2 horchatas at Tito's. I live in Del Rey and I travel often on Venice Blvd at Sepulveda. Tamix is parked right in front of of the Shell station on Venice. You can see their bright lights from a 1/4 mile away. I'm always in a rush, so I never stop. Well tonight is my night. It was a bit cold and windy, but who cares - I get TACOS! There is always a line and folks sitting at the provided tables and seats in front of their truck. They have all your favorites, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, gringas and even fajitas! My favorite and default tacos are always going to be the carnitas and carne asada. Right after that will be Al Pastor and Chicken. They also have lingua, tripe, cabeza as well as chorizo! While they take cards, bring cash, that's the best price. Card prices are a bit more. Their prices are clearly marked on the huge menu. Orders come out quick and help yourself to the condiments bar filled with limes, pickled onions, red and green salsas and sauces, radishes, and pico de gallo. The guys behind the grill are friendly and fast. They do a great job of keeping the area clean and keeping the condiment bar stocked. They have trucks all over LA. Check out their locations on their website or here on Yelp! I am coming back and want to try their burritos and tortas!

The restaurant was decorated for the Fourth of July, creating a festive atmosphere, and everything from the décor to the aromas felt genuine and welcoming. The shredded chicken in mole sauce was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the steak was cooked perfectly and complemented the burrito beautifully. We loved the old-school vibe immediately. We arrived around 4:45 and waited only 5-10 minutes. Then we saw the fresh tortillas being made and thought, "This could be good!" The atmosphere was relaxed, with full table service and great chips and salsa. We ordered a plate of fajitas to share and a shredded beef taco. Funny enough, I thought I was ordering a taco platter, but one lonely taco arrived on a bed of shredduce. Thankfully, it was excellent. A good shredded beef taco is surprisingly hard to find, and this was my favorite part of the meal. Overall, the food, service and atmosphere were all great. I'll definitely return. I found a parking spot behind the restaurant that felt a little sketchy, but it worked. I'll probably look for street parking next time. 4.5 stars

I had ingested several bites of it, (with hot sauce), but I couldn't take another bite. The meat was chemically contaminated & I got sick not long after for the whole night. It was important for me to tell the person that runs the stand. I had the best of intentions to help this business and wanted nothing in return. I walked up to the stand & asked the woman who takes the cash, (with the sharp eyebrows), if I could please speak to the person in charge, (or owner). At first she ignored me & then said, "I don't understand - no speak English." I asked who speaks English and she sent me to the back of the line by the cooks. I stood there for another 10 minutes and no one wanted to talk to me or answer my question. I told them that there was a big problem with their meat the night before & had brought back the entire meal, so they could try the meat. No one did anything except talk to each other in Spanish, (which I understood). The cook graciously offered me a replacement meal & tried to problem solve. The tall man, who spoke English, (as shown next to cashier Karen in the photo), was going to give me a replacement meal. I waited 15-20 minutes. I asked for the chicken quesadilla, and the vitriol that came out of cashier Karen, who said she didn't speak English was unbelievable. She refused to give me any food and said I had to pay $6 for the replacement taco. I tried to tell her that it was a replacement and she kept yelling aggressively at me and said, "no - you pay $6. You're not getting anything " and that I, "never bought any taco." She became angry and verbally abusive because I was getting a replacement meal, as a solution to my getting chemically poisoned. She was a bully and aggressively yelling at me to humiliate me in front of the other customers & personnel. By this time she had no problem speaking English. (A group of young ladies started talking to me, felt bad that I was the focus of cashier Karen's rudeness. They complimented me & wished me a good night.) The guy next to cashier Karen handed me the bag with the quesadilla. I asked cashier Karen for her name and she ignored me. Then I asked the guy next to her what her name was and he put his hands together like duck lips and rudely opened and closed his hand at me, (meaning that I'm talking to much) This was extremely inappropriate & as soon as I left, I threw the food out, because I didn't trust or hold it past any of them to have put something nasty in my food. By the way, there was never a possibility that I would be refunded. By this time I was so upset, I was sorry that I had generously tipped them the night before. Even cashier Karen's response to the tip had been of surprise; but then I remembered she had not even acknowledged it or said thank you, after receiving it. What this staff does not, is that I owned and operated a successful fine dining restaurant & wedding venue for 17 years. I have done consulting for small restaurant businesses, pro bono, in order for the businesses to financially thrive. I know how food is cooked, how it should be stored, when the oil needs to be changed, marketing, accounting, et al., as well as the health dept's requirements, in order to keep the public healthy and well. What I believe happened to the meat and reason I took my food back to the taco stand; is because they had been out of chicken. Since there was a meat shortage, more carne asada needed to be barbecued quickly. An abundance of lighter fluid was used to quicken the process & it possibly got on the grill, where the meat is placed; and the cooking process started well before the coals were ready. It shouldn't matter whether you go to a restaurant, food truck or taco stand, customers should be treated with respect, kindness & consideration - and it's called customer service. A customer shouldn't be lied to, yelled at, insulted and humiliated by any employee of the business. It should be run in a transparent and professional manner. I'm 64 yrs young & have never written one negative comment or review about any restaurant. Nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect, malice and ill intent. I felt it important to tell my story because nobody should experience what I did; in eating compromised food and then being made to feel like I did something bad. This is what bullies do and I've never had a problem in clarifying right from wrong, as well as responsibility and accountability. I didn't have a choice and had to give a star.

Butterfly was one of the highlights of our stay at The Shay…read more I stopped in for a light lunch on our first day and ordered the Atún Pacífico ceviche. It was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The watermelon aguachile was equally impressive, with bright, refreshing flavors that were perfect for a warm afternoon. Prices are what you'd expect for a rooftop hotel restaurant, but the quality and execution make it money well spent. The setting is what really makes Butterfly special. The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. He had already eaten elsewhere and had just sat down to visit with us, so it was an unfortunate way to say hello. The staff immediately apologized and brought out another order of potatoes, which was appreciated. Mistakes happen, and they handled it professionally without letting it overshadow an otherwise excellent meal. Overall, Butterfly serves high-quality food that is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented in a fantastic setting. Whether you're staying at The Shay or simply looking for a rooftop meal in Culver City, it's well worth a visit. 5 stars

For spending over $400 you would think to have a decent experience at the least. When we arrived, everyone was at the bar area watching the soccer game. Cool and not a problem but you shouldn't come off annoyed like I've bothered you while " watching the game." I told him I had a reservation. It didn't seem to matter at all. The pool was on the smaller side, but since there weren't a lot of people, it wasn't a problem. However, the water was murky. The cabana was a nice touch we rented it for two hours from 6p to 8p I don't think I could recommend this timeframe because it got too cold (on one of the hottest days of July) and we couldn't fully enjoy ourselves, had to get out of the murky water earlier than expected. It is a cute spot and has so much potential. Maybe it was good at one point and went downhill or someone just stopped caring. There were only two nice servers and that was the cabana server and the guy who brought out our food during lunch he had cute heart glasses. Other than that, everyone there was cold and offputting. Including the valet and the guy at the front desk, whom I asked where Butterfly was located, a question he seemed to be tired of hearing.
