When my husband and I were in Gatlinburg, we were looking for a place near our cabin for dinner and drinks that had good reviews; Yelp to the rescue! When we first walked in, it was pretty busy and they weren't seating anyone at the time because their kitchen can't handle more than 10 tickets at a time. That's odd for the size of the place but it was good that they were focused on quality control. We were seated within about 10 minutes, though, so no big deal. My husband and I started with the Jimmy's Bottle Caps (fried jalapeno caps) and, while they were delicious, we absolutely shocked at the portion size. There was AT LEAST a dozen jalapeno's thinly sliced. A good value for sure but we ate on those things for 3 days. For our entrees, my husband chose the King Club which he devoured and said it was some of the best brisket he'd had in a long time. I chose the Burgundy Shroom & Swiss Burger. It was perfectly cooked medium and the fries were outstanding as well. Due to the size of the kitchen vs. the size of the restaurant be prepared to wait. It's worth it. read more

So good! We got here around 4:00 pm on a Sunday and had a 10 minute wait. My dad ordered the sirloin with green beans & broccoli and he said it was all seasoned really nicely. My mom got a burger with fries and she actually ate over half of it which is actually really unusual for her. I got a granny smith turkey sandwich with a side of loaded mashed potatoes. (Warning-- there is more butter and sour cream than potatoes which was surprising. Still good though.) We didn't have a single complaint about the entire meal. Simply amazing! We visited from out of town during our vacation. We brought our 8lb pomeranian chihuahua mix (from Ohio) so we've been very limited to where we could visit. The restaurant was on a 15 minute wait, but they allowed us to put our name on the list and wait at our seat on the back patio until they were ready. We appreciated this so we didn't have to wait out front or in the car with our pup. The drinks and food were great! Service was fast and efficient. The carrot cake was to die for!! I would definitely visit again. My only complaint is smoking is allowed on the back patio. Where we live smoking is banned within 20 feet of any food-based establishment, as a non-smoker this is something I often take advantage of. Within the hour we ate, the people sitting next to us smoked 12 cigarettes, back to back. When I drink alcohol, tobacco smoke instantly makes me sick. I certainly do not hold this against the restuarant, because if the law allows - they cannot limit someone's cigarette intake... I will however say it was not the most pleasant/enjoyable experience due to that. I limited myself to one drink and still felt sick upon leaving. Would love to see a designated smoking area on the patio so those who are limited to seating due to fur friends can still enjoy a smoke-free meal. read more

Jimmy's was the low key, local dive bar not far off the main tourist path. We came based on recommendation by our Airbnb for the entertainment. We enjoyed the piano accompanied vocals of classic rock while eating fried mushrooms and the King James (beef brisket) sandwich. Husband got a side of green beans, which were tender and full of flavor while I had the Gouda Mac and cheese which was a bit bland. I had read that in another review, but it just sounded so good that I had to give them a try myself. (For the restaurant: I would recommend tweaking that recipe to give them just a tad more flavor) and personally I like bland foods - but Gouda needs some flavor added especially if it's mixed with noodles, unless you use a good aged Gouda. The sandwiches could have been cooked longer and the mushrooms were huge and delish! Nothing about the food would keep us away, we would definitely visit again for the live entertainment and low-key atmosphere. We got take out for a second night because of the proximity to our stay and ease of access, as well as it's just good food. My second meal was the Chicken Pot Pie - it was so good! The pie crust was so buttery and flaky and went perfectly with the soup. A fantastic meal for a cold night in! read more

Pros: I got the blackberry pig pizza, and while it wasn't amazing and my new favorite, it was something new and different, and I enjoyed it. My husband said his highlander burger was really good, and we both thought the fries were excellent. Service was quick. Cons: The live music was just awful. And as best as two non-musicians could tell, it wasn't because the music itself was bad. It might have been great. It was just very loud, and it seemed like the acoustics were bad, so it kind of echoed around and got all garbled. A few minutes after we were seated, we debated just ordering our food to go because of it, since conversation would be impossible. Instead, we stayed and ate as fast as we could and got out. The service, although quick, was difficult because our waitress was soft-spoken and we couldn't hear anything she said. My amaretto sour was primarily ice - I got about three sips out of it - and it was painfully sweet. We have been looking at this place for a couple of years but never stopped to try it. We finally decided to do it this year. The menu had lots of good choices and we decided to start with the fried mushrooms. I loved that they were lightly battered and not a greasy glob of batter. These were some of the best I've tried. We split a brisket dinner and it was plenty for the 2 of us. The brisket was well seasoned and tender and the house BBQ sauce was a little sweet with a touch a heat. So good! The server didn't even comment when she took the full plate away. When I used to wait tables, we'd offer to comp a full plate like that! My mom has the rueben. It had good bones, but they tout the sauerkraut, but I'm not sure there was actually any on the sandwich. I had the King James sandwich. Once again, good bones, but poor execution. I haven't had a sandwich with poorer presentation in a long time. It has two tiny fried onion rings. 3 small pieces of brisket (which was tasty!). The bbq sauce was barely there. The meat and toppings were just not enough to stand up to the large bun. Ironically, the kids hot dog was pretty good as well as the macaroni and cheese we purchased for our daughter! I will say, I wasn't that impressed especially for the $18 price tag. There wasn't hardly any pork on it and with a thin crust, it wasn't that filling. The taste was just ok and nothing great. I had fully intended on ordering a dinner and taking some food home. I'm not a big eater, so I normally end up taking food home. I couldn't do that here! The food was tooooo good! I couldn't decide between pulled pork (~$12) or chicken strips (~$10) so I ordered Pork and my husband ordered the chicken. I didn't want the side that would have normally come with the pork, and they allowed me to make a substitution which is always nice! What we ordered were some of the less expensive items, but there was a wide range of options. I also liked that you could order from the lunch menu at dinner time, just pay $1 more. We also liked being asked if we would like to be seated inside or outside. My husband hates sitting outside to eat food, so having the option is nice. There is a lot more seating inside than it looks like. The bar area is gorgeous and has many different kinds of art. There are also various types of seating such as booth, bar, or table. The real star of the show was the food. Given the chance to eat here again, I would swap my pork for the chicken strips, just because they were a couple dollars less and soooo yummy! The pork was great, though, and you could tell the bbq was house made. It was delicious! All of the sides were good. Between my husband and I, we had mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese, and fried apples. If you order the mashed potatoes, you gotta try the gravy! The Mac and cheese was good, a little different than typical baked Mac and cheese, but the flavor was on point. The apples were baked until soft, not mushy. Our service was great. We asked for a small box for the couple of chicken strips left and our waitress brought out extra honey mustard, even though what we had was probably enough. This will be a place we go back to! Based on good reviews and the abundance of cars we saw at Three Jimmy's the night before, we gave them a try. The menu has a variety of options-- BBQ, pizza, burgers, etc. We wanted pizza and had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer. Both were good, not amazing, but tasty. The service was very good, so we would go back. That deserves a 4 star in my book. By the way, we ate indoors. We sat apart from others (COVID restrictions) and felt comfortable with their efforts. My husband and I ordered carry out one of our last nights in town. I ordered the medi veggie sandwich and he got the chicken strips. My sandwich was good, but his chicken strips kind of missed the mark. They weren't bad, but I think we both expected more since they were $15. The price point is really what makes this a 3 star versus a 4 or 5. Everything felt a little overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area especially since the food was so so. Went there on Tuesday for a late lunch. First visit. Ordered the mushrooms and they were very good. Always worry that they will be premade frozen ones, but they were fresh. Smoked ribeye and the ribs were ok, but my wife and I both ordered the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. When it arrived it did not look like any of the food photos we saw. It was a glob of overcooked pasta and someone spooned over a "cheese like" sauce that was neither Gouda or smoked. It is frustrating when at least 2 people (cook who played it and the waitress who served it) didn't have any pride in what the served. I see from other reviews that most people enjoy your restaurant. "It's behind the Subway". As our weary caravan pulled into the strip mall from...yeah whatever the street is, things were looking grim. We'd gotten up and left for a day trip at 9AM and I hadn't eaten anything until we got here around 3PM. I was getting quite a bit of grief until everyone realized that the restaurant was on behind the Subway. Started with fried pickles. They were AMAZING. Not sure if I was that hungry and delirious or they were really that good, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were that good. Just got the bacon cheddar burger and though it came out a shade more done than I'd ordered, it was still superb. By far one of the better burgers I've had in a while. Tack on some fantastic service and it was almost a 5 star visit. The lone downfall? $6 for the smallest slice of pecan pie I've ever eaten in my entire life. Don't get me wrong, I get being proud of your offerings, but $6 should have bought at least 3 of these slices. So in the interest of frugality, you may be better served to get dessert elsewhere.
