I normally get my nails done in the East Bay where I live. But I was in the San Rafael area on business and decided at the last minute to get my nails done while waiting for traffic to subside. Glad I called ahead for an appointment, because even on a Monday afternoon this place was busy. Not sure they could have fit me in had I just walked in. I can see why they are so busy - their service is top notch, the space is clean and spacious with plenty of parking. And although it is a small thing they are one of the few nail salons that I have been to recently that still have magazines available for you to read. So many places have cut back on that to cut costs. Lily did my nails and while all the sisters are probably good, she is my fave! I will definitely be back. This was a bad experience to be honest. They were able to get us in same day. But the care was horrific. Pedicure felt more like play time on my feet. They were so gentle I barely felt anything was going on. Fine massage. As for my hands I asked for just a manicure without needing to color and she didn't even soak my hands first. I went to three sisters' nails due to the positive reviews. They are very nice and do not keep you waiting and have you out of there in an hour. The negative is that I require gel polish and twice within three months the gel was applied too thickly and peeled off. Of course, they will fix your nails for free and do a brand new manicure but I do not have the time to go to the nail salon to get my nails repaired so I had to stop going. I feel some of their nail technicians are not trained properly on the application of gel which is a tricky process. I have now since gone to another salon and have had perfect nails. read more

Decent price--five bucks a nail, as I get the gel extensions only on one hand so I can fingerpick my guitar, but I remunerate them double. They are all sweet and talented and kind. Had my hopes up for this place because it is the only nail salon with decent reviews in San Rafael. I went in for a walk-in on Friday afternoon and only had to wait a few minutes. The nail artist who did my nails (didn't get her name) didn't talk much, and didn't ask me what I wanted; she ended up just filing a bit and trimming my cuticles and putting some oil. She put on the color and didn't put on a protective layer after (seems to be a trend with Marin salons, which is why my manicures peel and crack after just a week). My cuticles look worse than when I got there; she nicked one of them and accidentally smeared nail polish on my finger. She tried to send me off without fixing it, but I pointed it out to her. She said that was just my hangnail. It wasn't a hangnail at all; my cuticle was swollen and bright pink because she had cut my skin. I told her to look closer because there was pink nail polish on my angry skin. She laughed and said it was hard to tell, but did wipe it off with a paper towel. Also, the hand massage she gave was really limp and uncomfortable. I would've rather she didn't give me one at all. Overall, for $22 plus a generous tip, I could've instead bought some cuticle oil and pink nail polish and done just as well myself. read more

Lily was amazing!! Another lady started me off and was also great, but I didn't catch her name unfortunately. They took their time to make sure my nails were nice and even. I showed her an inspiration picture and she delivered!! Not only did they care for my nails, but they cared for me as a person. I got a phone call while at the salon with some upsetting/frustrating news that brought me to tears and Lily WIPED MY TEARS!! You don't just get that anywhere!! They made sure I was ok and asked if there was anything they could do. Lily wanted me to leave with a smile on my face and I definitely smiled after seeing my nails. I don't even live in the area, I'm from the suburbs of San Francisco, but I work out in San Rafael every few weeks. As lily said, perfect timing to come get my nails done! I'll definitely be back!! 10/10 would recommend to a friend I paid $65 for my nails which is I think a normal price for a full set with gel and a design *update* 3 hours after my appointment, accidentally bumped into something and my nail just snapped. I leave tomorrow morning for vacation (which is why I got my nails done) so hopefully I can find a shop out in New York that can fix this pinky for me. They did say to be careful with these longer nails because I have shorter nail beds, but I've had my nails this long plenty of times before, done at other shops, and never was this an issue. I have been searching for a good nail salon ever since I moved to Sausalito months ago. I couldn't seem to find a good place that does amazing acrylics. My search is over!!! Tao did a phenomenal job on my pedicure and she even introduced me to a color that o would have never gone for myself but my toes/nails are LOVING it! She took her time on my pedicure and made sure I got everything I wanted out of it. 2 was absolutely amazing at acrylics. I have been getting acrylic nails on for almost 15 years and ALWAYS went full on square. I wanted to try something different for the first time so I decided to go for the coffin shape. Everyone was so amazingly helpful and answered all of my questions. So far, I will be going there indefinitely! And boy, am I loyal when I find the right salon. A bit of a drive for me but worth it. First time ever going here and I am amazed!! I don't even live in San Rafael. I just happen to be in the area and decided to get my nails done. I called around 5pm and they were able to get me in at 5:30. Lily did my gel manicure and I am extremely picky with how my nails are shaped. Other salons don't give me the "sharp square" look that I love and Lily listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted! Tho did an amazing job on my toes! I also got a gel pedicure to match my manicure and she did an amazing job shaping them! They are both sweethearts and I enjoyed talking to them! I went to this salon to get my acrylics taken off thinking it would have been a usual visit to any salon. I was WRONG. This place does not use nail drills for some reason. They soaked my nails in acetone and then the nail tech shoved a cuticle cutter between the acrylic and my nail and started chipping away. It was the most painful experience I have ever had. I have gotten acrylics for years and this is NOT the proper way to taken them off. The nail techs were laughing and talking away about me wincing and even crying at the pain. She also ended up slipping and having the cuticle cutter go right into my cuticle. To top it all off, atleast 3 workers blamed it on whoever did my nails because supposedly the acrylic was done to "thick". They think a super thin layer is all you need...?! Overall, if you are looking to just get your acrylics removed go somewhere else!!! read more

This is a very busy but lovely salon. Angie is a whirlwind of activity but she is sweet, professional and really gets the job done! I was a dialysis patient visiting from Philadelphia and my nails were horrible! When I left my fingers and toes looked amazing! She actually rebuilt 1/2 a nail on my great toe with acrylic and gel. I moved here a few weeks ago. The most difficult things are hair and nails! After striking out at 3 other nail places on a Saturday afternoon, they were able to accommodate me. However the nail tech filed my nails down to what felt like the skin underneath them. When I said something she told me my previous gel was "too thick" and she had to do that. We went back and forth about Polish color 4 times ("no, this isn't good, what color do you like? Oh, you don't want red?) finally I said whatever! I don't care just pick one that YOU like!
