Got pretty excited when my fiance told me that we could have brunch at an Australian place since I couldn't remember ever really having their cuisine. The place lived up to her hype. The first clue was that this place was buzzing on Sunday at 11:30 AM in the area. I love that this place is on the new Giralda area in Coral Gables that completedly closed off the street to make more room for outdoor seating and a more friendly space to meander. At night, you're good. During the day, they have umbrellas that do a decent job of shading the outdoor tables. That being said, I was overulled on the decision, so we sat inside. Our friends had the traditional omelettes with sides of bacon and hash browns. My fiance had the Emperor Nasi Goreng Breakfast and I went with The Legend The Lamb with a side hash brown. The hash browns are REALLY GOOD here. Highly recommend you order a meal that includes them or get a side. The omelettes were massive, took almost half of the plate, but were totally devoured by the end of the meal. The Emporer Nasi is an indonesian friend rice dish. It's a savory dish, but the flavors can be delicate in that you can taste each one. I kept stealing bites the whole meal. My lamb was good, topped with two fried eggs. The bread can get a little soggy from the pan gravy and egg yolks, but it's so tasty that it's easily ignored. Drinks are a little pricey here. You're not going to see a $20 all you can drink mimosas. They were $9 for the traditional ones. They were good, but nothing special, and certainly not big enough to justify ordering another. We split a cappuccino that hit the spot for $4. Next time I'm definitely trying the pope benedict, because those hash browns are so good they are making my mouth water right now! I would also love to catch this place during Giralda Under the Stars, which I believe is the first Friday of every month. Looks fun! read more

We decide to have lunch here , food was ok. As we know restaurants keep their Sangria pre-made. This place doesn't bother to check the taste of it before serving it. Some of the fruit were fermented and it really made our experience the worst, specially when ordering a pitcher. read more

Vini is a great server and Anne (I think that's her name- blonde lady). They can be a bit unaccommodating when you want to change the ingredients in the dishes, but other than that I love this place. I recommend the lemon grass ginger tea (no longer on the menu, but they'll make it for you), el gringo omelet and the muesli which is phenomenal. Update - 2018 They changed the entire menu! I HATE IT NOW!! I tried the green and gold (scrambled eggs with goat cheese and herbs on ZTB Bread). It was average. Nothing I'd order again. We also tried the quinoa (curry, raisins, yogurt). Leaving two stars when the breakfast food was good and service was also good. It is about the value. Ordered the drip coffee for $4.50. Got less than half a cup. Asked for a refill and was advised that a refill would be another $4.50. I guess that means I would be paying $9.00 for almost a cup of coffee. Mind you it was a good coffee but just on principle, I cannot pay that. More importantly, a restaurant should not charge that even for a labor intensive hand brew. This was a wonderful 1st stop and introduction to the food and restaurants of Miami. First off, we received great service with warm hospitality. My friend and I arrived with our luggage and they were immediately very accommodating, offering a spot for our luggages near the front to avoid having to squeeze in between tables and chairs. We opted the option but they were very flexible and allowed us to take our luggages all the way in with us, although we had to squeeze into tight areas. Fortunately being that it was very early, the venue was pretty much empty other than 2 small parties. Server was very friendly, suggesting dishes to try and making conversation here and there. I really enjoyed the environment. Theres plenty of lighting, a light wood theme and a small centerpiece plant at each table. There were also plenty of outside tables that I bet would be very enjoyable in the evening with all the lights strung above. I also like that the guests had various agendas aside for brunch. Most people came talking over breakfast/brunch and coffee but I also. noticed someone working on her laptop. So this is also a place where you're welcome to do work. It's nice to see that it can be a work/study kinda spot. Now for the food! The smashed avocado on toast was perfect. Very light and appealing to the eye with a hint of lime. I would sure love another 1 of those. My friend ordered a fruit waffle, omg I loved it. Asked for a bite and ended up keeping my friends plate for a while. We got the mushroom omelette and the classic avocado toast with mushroom and feta. Both of the plates were bursting with flavor! Especially the mushroom omelette! Delicious! My fiancé and I stopped here after coming from the airport. We wanted to grab a little bite and some coffee as we waited for our hotel to be ready. The decor is modern and reminded us of being back home in Brooklyn! We were greeted and given a table quickly. We had luggage with us and felt kind of silly bringing it into the restaurant, but they were very cool about it. We ordered Brekkie Sanga, Hashtag, an almond milk latte, and a shot of espresso. When I ordered the almond milk latte the waitress was quick to tell me that the almond milk was homemade and not that good. She suggested the oatmilk instead, so that's what I got. When we ordered food the waitress told my fiancé that the dish he ordered (Hashtag) is heavy on ginger. He ordered it anyway; he regrets this. It indeed came out over powered by ginger and he was unable to eat it. My dish, the Brekkie Sanga, was nothing to write home about. The bacon came out hard and cold and the eggs over cooked. It was lacking flavor overall. I ended up eating my hash browns to fill up. My latte was very good and I drank it all! Overall we loved the vibe and the drinks, but the food was lack luster. A fine breakfast place - with one menu bomb. Most of what is here is first rate. On the plus side, most of their breakfast dishes involve some sort of egg - often poached - on toasted Zak's bread. Toasted Zak's bread was made to be put under eggs. It is its destiny - its true calling. It brings out the best of the eggs and the best of the toast. You can get that dish with 900 menu variations and most of them are pretty good. Zak's bread, eggs and almost anything else on the planet, and you have started your day right. I give a special endorsement to the homemade baked beans. The sauteed vegetables however are no slouch. Coffee comes in a wide variety of ever more elaborate and every more expensive brewing manifestations. But its still good coffee - even if the description makes you laugh. * * * So you are in a little Garden of Eden here. What is the one apple tree you must never eat from? Avoid the super-thick slab of bacon. If you routinely eat an entire pig for breakfast you might like it. But in my humble opinion, the massive bacon slab is twenty nine steps too far. It is a single piece of unsliced bacon - Nearly an inch thick and the length of your plate. This sucker must have 1800 calories all by itself - and enough fat to lubricate the entire Empire State Building. Don't ask me what the Empire State Building would be trying to fit into - but you certainly have enough pork grease to do the job. This is more fat than any reasonable person should ingest in a month. Does the super-slab have a super-taste to compensate for all the calories? No. When push comes to shove. a Jimmy Dean pork sausage tastes better. * * * But avoid the one menu bomb and this is a first rate establishment. I would eat here again happily. AND this restaurant can make a tremendous contribution to world peace. If you have people you have been fighting and feuding with all these years, And you want to create harmony from a past of bitterness and acrimony, Invite them to a wonderful breakfast at Threefold. We got the breakfast bowl and the salmon eggs Benedict, a cortadito, and a green tea. Overall very tasty. The bowl was a mix of grains, veggies, and egg. The eggs Benedict came on a bed of salmon and hash browns. Overall we were both happy with our food and the service. Note that they charge a mandatory 18% service fee, which we found reasonable. She never came back when my daughter wasn't sure what she wanted....literally never came back. Vinegar was on the hash browns, not sure why. Threefold cafe is one of my favorite breakfast places! This place has really stepped up the coffee game for South Florida. Hands down they probably have some of the top baristas in Miami. A barista is only as good as there beans, so hopefully they are using DECO COFFEE CO beans as they are made locally and are very well roasted. Their baristas actually compete in latte art competitions... and win... so their art is on point as well. The owners are really nice and very involved with the restaurant. I have met them quite a few times, great people, and they are from Australia. Now, I have to be honest, I have not been to threefold cafe in a bit, so hopefully they have not changed their menu too much ( they seem to change it seasonally), but EVERYTHING was great. My personal favorite is the Emperor Nasi Goreng (fried rice) as well as the smashed avo (please dont call it avocado toast) with 2 poached eggs. I love this place....the food, the staff, the owners, the vibe. It's in a nice location on the pedestrian walkway, and features indoor and outdoor seating (good for people watching). On my most recent visit, I tried one of their new menu items (the burrata, which was delicious), I normally go for one of the avo/toast options, but I decided to break free and was glad that I did. It was washed down with a very tasty and perfectly made cappuccino courtesy of the Great Andrea (who has the best smile). My idea of a good breakfast brimming with goodness includes an avocado toast with poached egg and a creamy side of Vanilla Latte somewhere in that mix. Three Fold Cafe delivered a one two punch by fulfilling that desire and then some. Located in Coral Gables, my family and I headed into Three Fold Cafe early on a Saturday morning. While most of the neighboring areas were empty, there was quite a line at Three Fold Cafe. Not easily discouraged, we just took that as a sign that the food was good and probably worth the wait. Once seated I had the Avocado Toast with Poached egg and the previously mentioned Latte. Hands down this is the best avocado toast I've had to date. And to be fair, I eat this pretty much everywhere I go and I have it several times a week at home. I know my avocado toast people! This one was TOP NOTCH. The mixture they concocted with the avocado was incredibly flavorful and the Zak the Baker Bread was hearty and thick enough to hold its own with the creaminess of the avocado plus drippy egg. Match made in heaven.... The Latte was beautiful however a tad bitter for my personal liking so if I get the opportunity I would order the avocado toast without hesitation but might hold off on the coffee as I didn't feel it was palatable until I fixed it with a lot of sugar, which totally defeats the purpose of ordering a healthy avocado toast! Lol! It was an off day for the coffee bar, but I'm sure they will rise again.... They also have a mini kids lounge off to the side, filled with toys and books so your munchkins can play while waiting for your table or food. This is a super sweet touch and very practical. I really like this place the decor and the seating are tasteful rustic with a bit of unique. They have there own type of decoration happening . The food is very yummy not ordinary at all . First off they have panther coffee which is a must now days . They make their lattes super cute and yummy. I must have the monkey bread I think it's called every time I come because I just love it . It has the fresh and fluffy taste of a muffin but with walnuts and then the butter they serve with it, it's just a crazy yummy combination that I love. The service is just the best always checking how everything is going, and if you got everything you ordered . Also a plus that they are all super sweet !! When visiting FL we had breakfast at Threefold Cafe twice! I loved that they opened early and it was fairly close to our hotel. My favorites: Strawberry guava mimosa - these are one of those drinks that make me jealous of everyone living in Miami. Up in DC we do not get mimosa options like this. So yummy! Monkey Bread This is like a really rich banana bread and less traditional monkey bread. Still very tasty though. Smoked salmon scramble Yum! This was good. Lots of salmon in the scramble! Fresh bread that comes with the meal was also delicious. Waffles with berries The menu says "vanilla" waffles and I was hoping the vanilla wouldn't be too overwhelming. It was not! Waffles were perfect and the berries on top were delicious. Things that were "meh" The hash browns have a lot of vinegar in them and have a odd aftertaste. They are also served as a large patty and I like mine crispy and flat. That's a personal preference though. Overall this is a extremely tasty and cute place to eat. Quality vs. quantity here folks. The food is pretty good but you will pay for one entree (no sides) and a juice for $20. So be mindful that it really sticks to cafe culture. I had their salmon scramble which was quite good and very flavorful. It comes with a white sauce over it that was super creamy and a little more salmon than I expected which was a plus. I will say though the eggs were just a little too wet for me but other than that it was a pretty decent snack...because I went home still hungry. Stopped by Giralda Plaza today and tried this spot while enjoying the outdoor setting, great weather and people watching. This restaurant appears to be known for breakfast which they serve all day (they close at 4 pm), but we came for lunch and enjoyed some of the best Fish and Chips I've ever tasted (including across the pond) as well as a Lamb Burger which my dining partner enjoyed although it was more on the well done side than medium. They have some excellent wines starting at $7 per glass. The service (we were served by Samantha) was exceptional- super friendly and very attentive. I did not step inside to check out the ambiance as I haven't gone back to indoor dining as long as I can avoid it for now. But with fabulous weather, outside is the place to be.
