I'm a fan. I was surprised at the quality of both the service and food at this cafe. We went during the weekday on a cold Miami day (very scarce) and decided to seat outdoors. The experience was much better than I anticipated. We ordered: -Not so french (4/5): big serving, nice combination of slightly sweet, salty and crusty (in an enjoyable way). I added maple syrup and for some reason I liked it even better that way. -Cinnamon toast crunch (4/5): tasty, but if you are looking for something more breakfast(ish) and less dessert-like then order this as a side instead. - Flat white (6/5... yes a 6 out of 5): This was the best!!! I should have ordered a couple more of this. Next time I'm in the area I'll go in just to order a flat white and hope the same person prepares it. WOW. I had brunch at Threefold Cafe on Saturday with my husband and daughter. It was busy, but the hostess found us a table outside with plenty of shade and space for our stroller. Our server was really busy, she had just been triple-sat but that didn't affect her service. I wish I could remember her name but she was very welcoming and helpful with her recommendations. We split the Id Rather Be In Europe avo toast to start and honestly I think it was the star of the show. Goat cheese, cherry tomatoes and pesto - it was soo rich and soo delicious! After nearly drooling over the whole menu, my husband got the Chili Eggs and I chose the Brekkie Sanga. My sandwich was good -- nothing to rave about but the hash browns were really good and my husband was happy with his choice. We're looking forward to going back again soon and trying more items on their menu! read more

Outside sitting in this happening street . Came for brunch on a Saturday morning and it was the perfect choice . We arrived at 11:20 am and it was not crowded yet , the temperature outside was perfect and their cute cappuccinos hit the spot ! Service was great and the food was fresh and delicious . We tried the brekkie sanga ( avocado eggs sandwich ) and the Pope Benedict , both were ooh so good ! Although we did not try them all the French toasts passing us by looked amazing , will definitely try next time . Staff members were all wearing masks and all the tables were a good distance apart , there is a decent amount of outside sitting spots , enjoy ! read more

I've been here a couple times and it's always good. The ambience is cozy inside but I usually prefer to be outdoors. The menu is creative. I've tried most of their omelets which are very flavorful. The staff are friendly but the service is usually slow so just prepare to relax for a while while you wait for your food. read more

This place was the perfect breakfast spot ! It feels very homey and comfortable as soon as you walk in. Our server Calli was very helpful when I asked about the lemon blueberry cake or chocolate chip banana muffin. She gave great explanations on both but told me she'd heat up the cake and that it was a limited time item. She was spot on ! It was an incredible pastry and my main dish was the brekkie sanga and it was also incredible. Eggs were perfect and bacon melted in your mouth! I will definitely be coming back here !! read more

we absolutely loved this place and ate there three mornings in a row when staying in a hotel nearby. The food and coffee were delicious. The egg dishes are all good as are the avocado toasts and French toasts. You can't go wrong. Monica was an amazing server and has the best personality ever. She is attentive and excellent. She deserves a trip to Australia!! We loved sitting outside. read more

This is a favorite place amongst Gables residents, especially for lunch. The service was very good. The hostess/server was friendly and efficient. I ordered the meat pie, because there really wasn't anything on the menu I liked. I wanted the salmon salad, but it's served with strawberry dressing (which I don't like), and they had no Asian or teriyaki dressing. The meat pie was ok, not super flavorful, and the "side salad" it came with was just a small handful of lettuce. Hubby ordered the Omega Baby (avo toast with smoked salmon) with a poached egg, which was good but not very big. With all the competition on Giralda, I think they need to step it up a bit! read more

After my bday party quite a few people decided to spend the night at my place, which as you can assume would result in a group breakfast, Threefold ended up being our destination. After waking up groggy and hung over the only thing that made me feel better were the Eggs Benedict and my latte, and it all SMACKED. My entire group of six had a great experience, the server was nice, the food came out quick and the flavors were just as yummy as we wished. Visited once more after that, and will definitely come back. Ps. Smacked means it was FIRE!! literally so good. read more

An excellent breakfast spot with plenty of outdoor seating on a cute pedestrian road in Coral Gables. I had the mushroom toast which was delicious, but note that the bread is very difficult to cut through with a knife. Do yourself a favor and just pick the thing up rather than battling it with the knife like I did. Note that service charge is included but they still suggest a tip (read carefully!). read more

Threefold Cafe, you are pretty rad! Why? Well aside from the fact your food is delicious - the things you are doing during this pandemic to keep your staff and your community well fed is incredible. Need groceries? Well, you can order them super easily online from Threefold Cafe. I'm talking paper goods, essentials, and locally sourced produce and other items. It's a beautiful thing. The other day I picked up produce, toilet paper, milk, butter, eggs and other treats from the folks at Threefold cafe. It was extremely easy, and the produce was really tasty. I now see their online platform has made it even easier to order groceries and they are making it super convenient with things like protein boxes, produce boxes, etc at a really affordable rate. While not everyone may be ok doing takeout right now, everyone needs groceries, right? Try keeping it local and supporting local restaurants, who in turn can support local farmers with their produce, and local suppliers with their grocery offerings. While this is a new trend that has come out of unfortunate times, supporting local is a trend that continues to be strong, and will be here to stay. read more

Oh my goodness! I can't believe it's been almost six years since I wrote my first review soon after Threefold's opening. Since then, I've essentially grown up with this restaurant and have so many great memories. I trained for my job here, had breakfast the day before my wedding with my dad here, dined before baby here, and plenty after baby here... It's a Coral Gables (and Cassie P) staple! We're living in weird times (to put it lightly) and it's great to see how Threefold has adapted to our current situation. They're now focusing on groceries and family meals. We recently ordered and will now probably only get our food from them if we can help it! Besides plenty of fresh produce, we also got some ready made bolognese (so delicious!), marinated picahna ready to grill, and an avocado toast set which came with a huge carton of smashed avocado, mushrooms, cotija cheese, and Zak the Baker bread. Local beer, wine, honey, tea, ice cream... I really don't know what's missing! It was easy to pay online and set up delivery via phone. When they didn't have a specific item I wanted, they called and swapped it out no problem. No more waiting for Amazon to open up delivery windows for grocery delivery. Phew! I hope that we get to the other side of this soon so I can sip coffee and eat avocado toast outside on their patio. Until then, this is the next best thing and it's pretty darn great! read more

A cute little Australian restaurant in Coral Gables serving up mostly breakfast food. They have a large variety of different breakfast eggs and toasts, I had the chili eggs which come over toast and it was delicious! Honestly probably the best eggs I've ever had. I also had to get a flat white of course and it was nice and strong. Very friendly and attentive service as well, I'll definitely be back. read more

Bomb ass bfast! Doesn't matter if it's during the week or the classic miami brunch weekend (much longer lines tho). Love their bruschetta avocado toast, they know what they're doing here! The cinnamon toast French toast melts in your mouth! Also tried their chicken sandwich which was aighhhhht. Would stick it to the bfast plates. read more

Amazing atmosphere, they seemed busy but we didn't wait more than 5 minute to get seated, and our server was amazing. Inside was very simple yet elegant, there were cute plants everywhere and their own coffee bar. 8/10 The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating, Immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. 9/10 I ordered the Herb Egg which came on a slice of toast with fresh cilantro and dill. The portions looked small at first glance, but turned out to be very filling. To drink i ordered a guava strawberry mimosa which was delicious, no complaints, and i got a cortado which was also amazing and the coffee beans are roasted in house. Overall the food was great, but a bit pricey, $12 for my mimosa, $5 for the cortado and $17 for the meal, and they included the tip on the bill. 8/10 read more

Came here on a Saturday around noon with a friend. It was super busy but we were seated pretty quickly outdoors. They have a nice outdoor area as well as indoors. Inside had a nice coffe shop typa vibe. They add a 20% gratuity which our server let us know so I appreciated that- most spots in Miami don't. Great service despite our server being busy. Australia! The vibe in this place was very chill and artsy. The lighting was dim and the quiet background chatter made for an easy morning. My husband had the Omega baby (8/10) I had the Morning Monkey (10/10) I also had the picnic refresher juice (9/10) and he had an almond milk latte (8/10) Customer service was great. Wanted to love this place but the food was just not good at all. We ordered the burrata avocado toast and my avocado came out black and had no seasoning. The bread was also very soggy. The other person ordered a sandwich that was tasteless and the bacon was BURNED BLACK (see pics) The food was just so bad, I could have made way better food at home. Cool cafe is the gables located on giralda. They opened in 2014 and ever since they've gotten better and better. Bringing a tried and tested concept inspired by the Melbourne Australian cafe scene, this cafe has been a huge success. The pope Benedict is my favorite, the eggs are always poached perfectly. The chocolate chip muffin was also top notch!!! The place offers a variety of healthy fares as well. The staff is nice, they have outdoor seating, and offer take out as well. It wasn't so much that we chose Threefold Cafe, it was more like the weather chose for us. After viewing Sun Stories we were discussing where to grab lunch when a storm literally forced us to seek cover. Fortunately it was a happy accident. The story of Threefold started when owners Nick and Teresa moved from Australia in 2012. Searching for a specialty coffee shop like they had known back home led them to open their first cafe in Coral Gables in 2014. They offered breakfast and lunch with locally sourced ingredients and specialty coffee drinks. They are famous for their avocado on toast. Success has led to open a second location in South Miami in 2016. The first thing that strikes you when you walk in to the restaurant is it's bright white interior punctuated by cheery yellow and shiny light wood tables. A large picture window showcases the plaza outside. In the back of the restaurant is a wall with a Dr. Suess quote from the book Oh, The Places You'll Go. There you will find books and small toys to keep kids occupied while parents enjoy their visit. When it is not raining there is inviting outside seating. The menu is on the limited size with daily specials. The special was jerk chicken tacos on the day we visited but when were advised that they were extremely spicy my daughter and I instead chose the pulled pork sandwich that came with a tasteless spring salad and pickles while my friend had a lamb burger. The pork covered with coleslaw and avocado was tender and delicious. The portion was so large that we ended up taking some home with us. Service was attentive and friendly. By the time we finished lunch, the rain had receded and it was off to our next adventure. read more

More like 3 1/2 stars as we had a very good lunch here. We were in the plaza debating where to eat -- pizza or Mexican or?? It started raining and we made a decision to try Threefold as we were standing right outside the door. Yes, we love this choice! We had very good service. It wasn't busy, though. The venue is open and airy and bright with white and yellow being the theme colors. The menu is limited and they also offer daily specials. I was going to order the pulled pork, but when my companions both decided to do the same, I knew I had to try something different. I'm so glad that I did. I had their lamb burger which was cooked perfectly -- nice char on the outside and medium to medium rare inside. It had a dollop of feta cheese and a bit of arugula and a couple thin tomato slices on the brioche bun. I opted for no caramelized onions. On the side was an herb mayo, a couple pickle slices, and some crispy steak fries. I didn't eat the bread -- it was just okay -- but everything else (except the pickles) was delish. The pulled pork sandwich was a large portion of meat that came with slaw and avocado on a bun. They opted for the spicy chipotle sauce on the side (good choice). It came with some greens and pickles. They both liked their pork, but I think the greens not so much. They each got a box to take a portion of their sandwiches home. read more

Ordered a avocado toast and it came with feta that I didn't notice on the menu and I'm allergic to I ordered another one and when the bill came they charge me for the first one without advising me and trashed the first one. I could of tauro home for someone else in the Family. They took off the bill after 15 wait. Never again. read more

Came to this place and were hesitant if staying or not!! Service made us stay as it was VERY good.... Very courteous and on point! We had eggs easy for my wife with multigrain sourdough and I can say it looked and tasted impeccable!! I ordered the open eggs with herbs.... Well here, congrats chef!! Simple eggs with herbs were "chateaux" quality!! Amazing flavor and texture... cooked to perfection and came also on top of the multigrain sourdough that was lightly toasted and gave the crunchiness and balance these eggs needed! This really is something you HAVE to try!!! Dill, parsley, cilantro, basil gave it an amazing explosion on the palate! Really congrats team.... SOO glad we did decide to stay!! This is a popular place for brunch. We had to wait awhile for our table. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Brekkie Sanga. The ingredients were fresh, and it had a lot of flavor! I enjoyed it, but I could have done without the garlic aioli which made it taste a little sour. Besides that, I really liked this place! read more

Visited for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival, we were quickly greeted and seated. The cafe was modern, and had a nice ambiance. Our server was attentive, very knowledgeable on the menu and always quick to address us. We found the food to be healthy and inventive, with lots of interesting options. Our party tried : Valla Eggs- our least favorite menu item. It was an odd mix of yogurt and poached eggs and could be best described as a breakfast "soup" Run Pig Run- our favorite menu item. The sausage was delicious and hash browns were also crispy and full of flavor. Sautéed mushrooms- lots and lots of mushrooms, so order only if you love mushrooms :) Salmon scramble- good but slightly too salty. All accompanying bread and toast was ZTB (made by Zak the Baker), so if you're a fan of that, you'll probably be happy with the breakfast. Overall, we found the food pretty good and service excellent. Prices were on the higher end, but on par with the Gables area. read more

What an absolutely magical experience! Threefold cafe has officially set the new standard for what every cafe should strive to be like. THE STAFF - Very attentive answering every questions that we had while providing amazing feedback based on our preferences. From the moment we stepped in they made us feel welcomed. SEATING - We decided to sit outdoors and each table was about 6 feet apart from each other, nicely decorated tables that had all the bare essentials right out our disposal, including a digital menu to scan. Also, I ran quickly to the bathroom and got to check out the interior and WOW, it looked extremely cozy and the interior designer did a stellar job with this place. COFFEE LOVERS - my gf ended up going with a classic latte which she felt guilty drinking since it was so nicely decorated. But after that first sip I saw her eyes literally gleaming with joy, so it's safe to say it was delicious. When I was visiting Miami, I was trying to find some new brunch places to try and my sister recommended Threefold Cafe to me so I figured that that would be the way to go (since she has great taste). I went with some friends on a Tuesday afternoon so we were seated immediately in this lovely outdoor area with good shade and was great for people watching and just enjoying the day. Everything on the menu looked amazing but I was curious to try the Pope Benedict which was essentially an eggs Benedict but on a hash brown cake instead of the traditional English muffin. My one friend got the same thing but subbed smoked salmon for ham. We both really liked our meals as the hollandaise was great and the flavors were amazing. Now, my other friend got their brekkie sanga which is their breakfast sandwich. I took one bite of his and I immediately wished I had ordered that instead (my Benedict was still amazing by the way) but that sandwich was easily one of the best I had ever tried. The soft ciabatta bread, the perfect bacon, eggs, cheese, avocado, and amazing aioli sauce paired for such a great sandwich and I will definitely order that next time I'm in Miami and visit this location. This little restaurant has my favorite avocado toast ever!!! And you can trust me on this, I'm a millennial ;) In all seriousness, this is probably one of the best breakfast joints in the area, nestled perfectly on the popular Giralda Ave. The menu has a great range of sweet to savory AND drink choices. Today, I switched it up from my usual and got the Brekkie Sanga, it was SO GOOD. The pressed sandwich had some sort of cheese crusted on the outside, adding a totally flavorful crunch to the perfectly meshed bacon, egg, avocado, and cheese inside. Our whole party got something different; salmon scramble, chicken BLTA, and the French toast. We were all beyond satisfied with our dishes. The portions are huge. The mimosa menu has options outside of the usual OJ. The service is great. Nothing else to say besides the plain and simple, come here! Such a great spot. read more

The wife and I were searching for a brunch restaurant in Coral Gables, FL. A search in Yelp gave a few results, and Threefold Cafe was at the top. We decided to go. The customer service was amazing. We sat down immediately, and the waitress was super attentive. We ordered the Brekkie Sanga. It was a breakfast sandwich. It was well put together and it tasted superb. We visited Threefold Cafe on a Sunday morning around 11:30 AM. The place was already buzzing, but we were seated promptly as we had a reservation. We opted for the outdoor patio corridor, which had tables covered by umbrellas--a necessary touch given the intense sun. The atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly, though seating was quite snug, with tables packed closely together. Our server was kind and attentive, but the noise level outside made it difficult to hear her clearly. She could benefit from speaking up more to ensure she's heard among the chatter and background noise. Drinks: We started with mochas, which came with a small piece of dark chocolate on the side. The chocolate was delicious, but the mocha itself was underwhelming--lacking the bold, flavorful punch I was expecting. I'd rate the mocha a 4/10, with most of those points coming from the chocolate. Food: Breakfast Sandwich: It was decent but nothing memorable. The hash brown on the side, however, stole the spotlight--crispy and perfectly seasoned. The sandwich itself gets a 5/10, while the hash brown deserves an 8/10. We came in on a Saturday morning to try out their brunch menu. I ordered a latte and he ordered a coconut-pineapple juice. We went for the eggs on toast and a Western omelette, with a side of locally-cured bacon and some rosemary potatoes. The atmosphere is light and hipster-humble with handcrafted, uneven tables that made cutting through bread a bit of a chore. The coffee, presumably Panther Coffee from the beverage list offerings, was quite good and served at the right temperature. Pros: The food arrived fairly quickly and the service was friendly.The eggs were fresh and tasty. The presentation was lovely. Breakfast is served all day on weekends if you're into that sort of thing. Unobtrusive music plays in the background. Tables are well spaced-out, giving a better sense of privacy to diners. Stylish decorations and pleasant atmosphere overall. Cons: The coconut-pineapple juice was rather grainy and did not taste much of pineapple. The prices are on the Coral Gables end, especially for relatively simple fare of eggs and bacon. The bread, proudly labeled as from Zak the Baker, was too thickly sliced to be eaten with a fork and knife, and still too thick to be eaten by hand. The omelette, while plentiful, was a bit dry. The hours are a bit inconvenient during the week (being open from 9:00AM to 3:00PM on weekdays?!) Verdict: Cool, Brooklyn-style setup and friendly staff. Would come back to try out lunch menu. I had heard great things about this place, but it was OK. Well I will start off by saying that service was great we went a Sunday am right before the mob of brunch people came in. Our waitress was super great, very amiable and quick. I ordered the smashed avo toast, I feel that the $13 is steep for avo on toast. They give you one piece of toast, my avo was piled high but i felt like it didn't have much flavor plus it also had that greyish look when Avo stays out too long without lime or starts to get bad, didn't look appetizing, forgot to take a picture of it and hidden underneath it had some mushrooms.I mean give me at least an egg, I had to pay extra to add the poached egg. I could have done that at home, maybe that is why people are willing to pay for it because they can't make it or something, idk. Well the other dish we ordered was the waffles, three waffles with a berries and compote, it was ok. It has a flavor throughout I could get over it, and they charge extra for syrup?!? Buddy of mine referred me to this breakfast / lunch spot in Coral Gables on their opening weekend. We were immediately were seated (which is great when you have 2 infants in strollers). The owner informed us that the restaurant prides themselves in the quality of their coffee, eggs and bread. All four in our party ordered the avocado / poached eggs over toast. It was very good and for the record Cold brewed panther coffee is now my new favorite way to consume caffeine. I had 2 of them and barely could sit still. The prices seemed inexpensive as well. $12 for the breakfast and $4 for the cold brewed coffeee. (atleast compare to what im accustomed to paying on sobe). The service was great. It felt as if i was a guest in a friends restaurant. Honestly we stayed almost 2 hours. Im looking forward to bringing more friends to this spot. The only downside I could think of off the top of my head was the lack of alcohol ( no bloody mary's or mimosas) and they don't have a diaper changing table in the bathroom. I was told one is being installed. I'm sure the place will go through its growing pains nonetheless (it was their opening weekend after all) but i'd advise going while you can still get a seat. read more

The waiter that attempted to serve us was more lost that us (since this was our first time at this awful place) we asked for his assistance in helping us navigate the overpriced menu after all all we wanted was French toast. After giving us a deer caught in the headlight look we asked for a different server to come tend to us. Long story short we ended up walking out. This place has a couple months left of life. It is ran by a young group of waiters that have no people skills whatsoever and the management is not any better. Food is overpriced as well. If you want an exquisite waffle for a great price not $12 dollars and or an overall delicious brunch with out of this world service just drive over to LULU'S in the Grove. read more

If I reviewed this place a year ago I would have given it 5 stars. It used to be a delicious breakfast place with fresh ingredients. I was always leaving satisfied. Now, however, they seem to be cutting corners. Their ztb bread is being cut into smaller slices and the waffles which I got were very underwhelming. As the prices are a little higher I used to be okay with it because I always had an enjoyable meal but now it feels like a waste. I will be surprised if they don't close in the next few years. I want the old threefold back. This location, though, is better than the Sunset one. read more

This is a really good place for breakfast/brunch. The atmosphere is good, the service is good, and the food came out fast. They stock Zac the baker breads and Panther coffee. The place has a hint of an Aussie theme it feels like. I went with my fiancé and ordered the smashed avo and the phenomenal funghi. Both were extremely good however, the poached eggs mine came with were over cooked...they were hard boiled...this is my only complaint. The price is reasonable. 5-Stars in my eyes. We really enjoyed both the food and service. Upon arrival we waited around 20 min for a table but it was well worth the wait. The café features Panther Coffee and Zak the Baker bread, two of my favorites. I enjoyed the Fried Rice while my girlfriend had the salmon dish. The flavors of both dishes were amazing. This restaurant, run by Australians, has a menu unlike anything we've seen outside of Australia. The cuisine is tasty and rather unique. The level of service was amiable and solicitous. There are tables set up for each of the numerous restaurants in this pedestrian mall located on Giralda street. Excited to explore new dining spots, I was particularly intrigued by the mega mushroom omelet. However, my anticipation turned into disappointment as I had to wait for 45 minutes, only to receive a charred catastrophe on my plate. The bacon was swimming in pools of grease, the mushrooms resembled leather, and the toast had turned into an inedible blackened state. It was incredibly refreshing, and adding two pumps of pistachio syrup took it to another level. My boyfriend ordered the caramel frappe and really enjoyed it as well. One thing I loved was the atmosphere. The decor has a very Colombian feel, which gives the space a lot of character. There's plenty of seating, making it a great spot to study, work, or just hang out for a while. Overall, great food, great coffee, and a welcoming environment. For context, I ordered two double espressos and paid an additional $1 for each cup of oat milk on the side. This is on the menu. I didn't ask for anything outrageous, yet she seemed perturbed that I ordered what I paid for. I have a newborn and have replaced oat milk whenever I use 'milk' because my supply has been very low and oats are said to aid in lactation support. I'm pumping breastmilk in the car every time I drive and nursing throughout the day. I'm doing everything in my power to consume as many lactation supporting foods as I can. I PAID FOR IT. I paid nearly $13 for two beverages, I didn't ask for anything free or try to do anything inappropriate. Yet I was treated with such odd hostility from the barista. She even made some comment about it being "a lot of cups", except it was just the two cups of milk where I poured the espresso into. She very simply could have poured the espresso into the cup of milk and ice, but apparently that was not something she was willing to do. So it seems the two little paper espresso cups going to 'waste' are because of her method of preparation and service. I didn't ask for special treatment or any exceptions to be made for me, I ordered off the menu. I paid for the milk and I paid for the espresso. The semantics of what I do with what I pay for is not of the barista's concern. I would encourage some supplemental training or remove oat milk from the menu if customers are going to be spoken to disrespectfully for buying it.
