Thrift Town is the best thrift store in San Antonio! I have been to thrift town several times and each experience of shopping was better than the last. I love the great customer service, clothes, shoe household items and coupons they offer their VIP Members. So far I have gotten a $10 discount. I always find what I am looking for at a reasonable price. Their jewelry collection is off the chain! They have vintage, early 90s & modern jewelry. On certain days they have discounts related to the colors on the tags which can give you up to 50% off. This thrift store is always clean and the lighting inside is great. Sometimes Thrift Town has great deals. Their new location is really nice and clean. Lots of items in stock and the stock rotates a lot. The reason for the 4 stars is that some items are really overpriced, for example pictures are usually over $15. Some pictures are over $125! If I wanted to pay $125 for a picture, I would buy a new one from a regular store. Overall, this is a pleasant shopping experience and you can find inexpensive things in good condition. I get beautiful clothes, dishes, and jewelry. I never wear the same thing twice. This store always uplifts my mood and I'm always finding a treasure. Great lil store. read more

Dirty, smelly, trashy. That about sums it up. I live close to this store and wish it would have stayed empty. I shop at many vintage/thrift stores and the smell in this one will knock you over. Avoid at all cost. Side note, employees smoke 10 feet from the entrance for extra ambiance:-/ read more

New location is awesome! I have been going to this thrift store since 1997! True story. I no longer live on that side of town so I only make it over once in a while; I was very sad when I drove up and found the store empty, but then saw the signs that they'd moved to a 1000 Oaks new location just a couple miles away. Yay! The new location is so much better, brighter, cleaner. I am kind of a thrift store junkie (and I make my money that way, buying and re-selling), so I frequent many thrift stores in SA and this is consistently my favorite. Customer service here is just WAY better than the rest, it's more organized, clean restrooms, and good prices. The half off and other sales days make it a real bargain, especially with clothing, and they seem to be much better about not putting junk out on the floor (torn, stained stuff) like other places do. They do seem to over-price their furniture but I don't primarily shop for that and there are better places in town to look for second hand furniture, but for clothes, jewelry, and various household stuff they are a good place to find treasures! I also love how they reward you with email coupons and the frequent shopper punch card. :) read more

I would say this is probably the cleanest thrift store I have been to. I was surprised to hear that they clean and sanitize all the items they receive. You would assume they would be pricey for the extra effort they make in cleaning their items but surprisingly they are affordable.. In my opinion even more so than goodwill. Now there are certain things that are pricey but I have got great deals on other items so I would say it's priced reasonably. This place has everything in order. It is a clean thrift store in every aspect of the word. The store is clean the items are clean and the customer service is awesome. Employees are usually happy to help. I recommend this store if you are in need of doing some thrift store shopping. read more

Love this store! The clothes are always in great like new condition. My only complaint is I wish they didn't hire homeless people as staff I'm sure they are not homeless but their clothes are dirty hair dirty looks like they have not bathed. I'm scared to go up to some of the workers. I love second hand stores but the guys really need to shower. read more

This place has me spoiled as far as thrift stores go, I can't go into another one without expecting the order, cleanliness, and comfort that Thrift Town offers. I have found several quality items there for a fair price. I have also seen some very high end clothing that is priced way above what I would expect for a thrift store but if it's too much, just don't buy it - they have plenty to offer without getting hung up on a few items. The clothing is separated into categories and even separated into "better quality" racks and normal racks. I love it! Also, you should go often to find nice things that fit what you're looking for. One day I'll go in and no couches, a week later I'll go in and there's 6 couches. Seriously, if you are vigilant about going often you will find everything you need. read more

Clean, well-lit. Articles are well displayed. Clothes aren't jammed on the racks. Very large selection of all types of clothing and shoes. The clothes are sorted by size and color. Large selection of costume jewelry. Very efficient check-out system. Rewards program. Daily specials. Not the best prices. I must have been in a thrifty sorta mood when I decided to pop in here after visiting the dollar store a few shops down from here. I'm going to assume you are reading this because you already like treasure-hunting at thrift stores. You will then also know that it is always a hit-or-miss type situation. Luckily for me, it was my night! I found some totally sweet wall art that really ties the room together. Plus I found some various garments and what-have-you. Not to mention the sweet little girl that told me she liked my hair while I was perusing the book section. (Aww!) The employees are pretty friendly too, but the big thing for me is the store seemed CLEAN, ORDERLY, and did not have that musty/sour/old smell that kind of triggers one's gag reflexes. I'm wondering if they wash all of their clothes before putting them out because I kept picking up a powerful cleaner/detergent scent, but I couldn't determine the source. Not unpleasant, especially considering the alternatives. read more

This is a pretty large thrift store. I enjoy poking around the furniture and housewares looking for mid century pieces. I struck out, but this is the kind of place that you will uncover some hidden gems. It's just an above average, large thrift store. I love shopping at this store. It's an indoor, airconditioned garage sale! The prices are bargains -- you can buy shirts or jeans for only $2-$3!! You do have to look carefully because sometimes the quality of the items are...well..they are used. But I also have often bought items that still have tags on them or are in original packages. You never know from one day to the next what might show up there. I didn't give it a 5 because there are occasional weird problems such as missing price tags or one time I found a blow up pool toy...with the price tag STAPLED to it. Needless to say that toy was now forever ruined and unusable. Because people are searching through items, sometimes the place gets a little messy, but if you are willing to do some searching you can often find a great find and bargain. read more

Thrift Town is absolutely perfect! I can say that being from an older generation coming into a newer one that this thrift store beats any of them by a long shot. I have come to this place several times and my home is pretty much completely furnished by thrift town purchases. Recently I saw they had a change in management and I think it has done so much for the greater good. Some of the employees are very quiet and don't speak much, but you can see that the manager always has a smile on his face. The product I can say is used, but why walk into a thrift store if that's not what you are looking for? I have gone in plenty of times and found items that still had the price tag on it and it was 3x less than what it was originally running for. Great quality. Very clean. Plus their VIP program gives a lot of room for discounts and opportunities to save more money! All in all I love it! Go Thrift Town! read more
