Stephen & Josh were really helpful, but Marc is the man. He was nice to me even when I dogged on Tony Homo after finding out that he is a Cowboys fan. He was so cool and worked with us on our rental. He is former military so I'm sure a little chinky-eyed trash talker is nothing to him. Ha ha. He was determined to get us a 4WD car even though our booking was for the smallest, cheapest option. He offered us the upgrade, but when I told him it was just too far out of our price range since we were planning to purchase their insurance, he upgraded us for free. When I told him the upgrade price on top of the added insurance was just too much for us, he understood but was determined to get us a better car since snow was expected throughout the week. There is nothing he could have done to make the experience any better. Talk to Marc when renting here....especially if you're a fan of Dallas. read more

I would highly recommend doing a VERY thorough walk through of the car before signing anything. My first time renting a car period and got hustled through signing the paperwork. Noticed a small scratch on the hood after we had signed everything, but didn't make a big deal about it. Boy was I wrong. I am now on the hook for a $600 scratch that was maybe 1 1/2 inches long. Had no contact from rental agency for over a month until the bill arrived in the mail. I did not have an enjoyable experience dealing with the employee that I worked with at the counter during checkout and again when I called to clarify some questions. He was loud, very opinionated and lacked a professional demeanor. I was n vet offered the opportunity to have an employee inspect the car with me before I took possession of it. I would highly recommend taking a thorough set of pictures of any car rented, and have a good way of proving those are taken the day of. Make sure you are not rushed through your assessment of that vehicle. They do have reasonable rates on decent cars. Their insurance policies are extremely expensive however. I chose to go with my own auto insurance, which will hopefully fight for me in this situation, but I cannot help but feel that I've been fleeced. read more

Had to make an unexpected trip from Phoenix Az to Spokane WA, in January 2019. I rented a economy car online, to be picked up on Jan. 11, 2019. When I arrived, I was advised they didn't have any economy vehicles, so I asked for an economy as I would be maki g numerous trips from North of Deer Park to Spokane, during my stay. The smallest car they had was an Chrysler 200 & i was advised it should get 30mpg. Given no other choice, I took the car they offered. (Btw, they had numerous smaller cars on the lot, but I was advised they weren't rentals, but rather cars for sale) Monday when I attempted to use my wipers, I discovered they wouldn't work as they were actually absolutely shredded! (See pic) With snow on the forecast, I had to drive from nearly Chewelah back into Spokane, to show Thrifty, I was unable to use the wipers. The rep changed me to another vehicle, once again, no economy or compacts I was put in a Malibu. However, having driven almost 40 miles back into Spokane to change cars due to defective wipers I was hoping to be offered some form of compensation for the nearly 80 mile round trip I was forced to drive due to their lack of maintenance on there vehicle. Very disappointed in this rental experience for several obvious reasons. read more

Got the car I needed at a good price Arrived with a compact or larger car on my contract but had ski equipment and more luggage than I could fit in a compact car. Thrifty was very helpful in upgrading me to an all wheel Subaru Legacy which turned out to be just big enough to carry the luggage, ski's and my wife and I. I went out and picked the vehicle I needed. The All wheel drive turned out to be important in the snow I often had to deal with. The upgrade was done at a good price, better than I would have gotten if I had directly rented it. I was very pleased with the Legacy and Thrifty's service. I'm going back this next week and will definitely use Thrifty. I'll be looking to them in the future. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Devon and from the minute I got there until the time I left I couldn't have been more satisfied. I come up here every year for vacation with my family and I usually rent a car at the airport. This year I decided to try something different and I'm sure glad I did. Devon was so helpful and friendly and patient and it was refreshing because I had just traveled over 8 hours with 2 kids! He helped set us up with exactly the car we wanted and made the whole experience easy and quick and we were on the road to our vacation at the lake with my family in no time. I would give a 0 if I could and I never leave reviews but the gentleman working the counter right now deserves to be highlighted for his unprofessionalism. I've currently been on hold to speak to a manager but he is denying me and making me wait on "hold" for a manager that I doubt he is notifying. Trying to book at $1400 reservation for a suburban that is listed on the website but he is refusing service. If possible, I'd like to file a corporate complaint. As a business owner myself, I would definitely want to know if an employee was the reason behind me loosing money. read more

We go out of town several times a year on long weekends. We ALWAYS use this location. The service is always fast and friendly and they make it easy to keep coming back. Tons of hidden fees and didn't give us the car we requested. Small coverage area that you are only allowed to drive in and if you go outside of it they charge you 32cents a mile for every mile you drive, for your entire drive!! Don't go here please. Since my dad drove the car on the lot and I was the credit card on file the guy at the counter named Joe just came right out and said we don't want your business again and don't come back. He was a rude *** hole and if it wasn't for Manny who was extremely helpful and courteous a lot more might have been said. Had a great experience here. My wife and I flew in to Spokane and rented a car to travel through Idaho and ultimately to Glacier National Park. The gentleman behind the counter was fantastic. Efficient and helpful even with several different customers requiring several different things. Compared to other rental experiences, this one was far better. I rent 2-3 cars a month, as I travel a lot for my job. Expedia had me pick up a car at Spokane's north side Thrifty location a while back. Stephen was the counter agent that helped me, and man let me tell you, that guy is awesome! He was super personable and very friendly. When I came back to return my car, he was still just as friendly. He asked me a couple of questions about my work, and suggested that I don't use Expedia anymore and just give him a call. He would make sure that I got the best pricing, and always have a car available, even if it was same day. Here we are a year later and I am still using the Northside Thrifty. Stephen runs a tight ship, and hires employees that are just as good as him. If I walk in and he's not there, each one of them takes care of me with the same enthusiasm and passion. I rushed in last minute on Friday to rent a car for a weekend road trip to Portland, and Manny stayed 10 minutes late rather than telling me to come in the following morning when they opened at 10:30am. Before renting a car from Thrifty, please go to the consumer affairs dept. website and look at the literally hundreds of one star reviews against this company. They obviously do not make their money from car rentals. They make it through forced upgrades, toll passes, erroneous cleaning charges for non-existant smells, animal hair, spills, stains, & general cleaning. They give unlimited miles and then restrict the areas that you're allowed to go. The car was inspected on my return, inside and out and given an ok. A full 24 hours after I returned the car, I received a message that I would be charged an additional $300 cleaning fee for smoking, animal hair, spills and stains. I had the car for 2 days and none of the above is true. My two day rental came to $586. Delay your trip, ask you mil for a ride, go anywhere to rent a car other than Thrifty. Enterprise Car Rentals is the only way to go. Wish they had a car available the day I needed it. I will NEVER give this company my business again, and will NEVER stop telling people about their deceptive business practices. read more

My husband and I have rented from Thrifty numerous times. We even went to reserve the truck that we needed in person and 2 weeks early. When we showed up for the truck, the woman behind the counter said they didnt have our reservation nor did they have any trucks? Come to find out the woman was in fact the Manager. We explained that when we came in we spoke to a young man who was very helpful and even quoted us a price of $62.00. The young man was there and after he apologized for the error the Manager was able "magically" come up with a truck. (it was obliviously there). We were happy that they were able to accommodate us after all. When someone brought the truck around for us, we were disappointed that it was a very large "crew cab" Dodge truck with a small bed. When my husband expressed his concern for the bed size and lack of gas mileage, the Manager said "the bed is regular size and the truck gets 25 mpg if you keep it at 65mph" ( speed limit on I 90 is 70) Since we were in a bind we proceeded with rental agreement. We were then told we needed proof that we had "full coverage" insurance and that we needed to contact our agent for verbal confirmation? Different policy but ok. We declined Thrifty's coverage as we were covered with excellent coverage. The Manager proceeded with what we can only call "scare tactics" of all of the things that we would be responsible for. We did the "walk around" with said Manager to see if there were any scapes,dings, scuffs etc., then we were told that we would also be responsible for scuffs on and/flat tires. "REALLY"? We understand business is business but this puts you in panic mode and it took the fun out of the experience. On our very first stop when we left the shop (less than a mile away and only 10 minutes) my husband noticed a very small "ding" on the drivers door and i called the office right away and asked if we should bring it back? The young man i spoke with said no it was fine he would note it. After all the "hoops" we jumped through, the truck got "crappy" mileage. We won't be renting anymore vehicles from Thrifty. Way too much to go through and being treated like a criminal since we wouldn't go for their upsell. read more

Was expecting a nice full size car--which is what was pictured. What we got was one of two they said was available. A 2014 Jeep won out over the other offer somehow. It ran rough and was not at all comfortable with no upgrades--none. Couldn't get the Bluetooth to work for my phone. No owners manual in car to look up info . We were so happy when we took it back. My husband owns a 2008 Prius that has 191,000 miles that rides better than this. I'm booking with Alamo right now for our next trip that I am organizing. They said they have the cars pictured in their listings. That's what reminded me to leave a review for the rental we did back in January described above. I hope your experience is better than ours. This is about the Thrifty retal car at the airport. I was in a pinch and had to fly out to the funeral of my niece. When I punched in my flight number at thrifty unbeknownst to me it gave me the wrong time of landing. I landed at 2pm instead of 10am they said they had no car that I should have called even thought I just got off a 5+ hour trip o a plane from Virginia to Washington state. When I finally told the lady give me back my ID and credit card that I still had 3hours to drive for a funeral the next day she found a car. Also this was at the end of October I'm sure it was at the peak of rental car season thats why they we all out. Funny but the car was the same one I booked on line. Got the car, did what I needed to to got back to the air port early to return the car asked several people what the extra $80.00 + was nobody could give me an answer. I got told "Thats our charges" I ask for what the nice young man gave me an honest answer "I really don't know mam" another man told me to come back at 10:00am there would be someone there to help me. Just so happen my plane left at 9:00. When I wrote Thrifty they blamed it all on my plane flight coming in on the time there site said. Basically sorry for your bad luck come again so we can take your money. Enterprise has always been good to me, so has budget. read more
