We have been buying our cars here since the 2000's. Buying cars from dealerships can be a root canal procedure without anesthesia, but Thrifty makes the process so easy. My Hubby is all about mileage, and we can't help but get low mileage vehicles here because of their frequent turnover to new cars. Our latest purchase was for our college daughter. She drove a few different models, but when she came out of the Chevy Cruze sedan she was beaming! We knew that was the one. Dave has been our sales rep for our last three purchases and he is great. He's a very gentle soul, never tries to upsell us, and makes sure the vehicle is in show-room state before it leaves the lot. His partner Dale is a good guy too, so you can't go wrong with either gentlemen to help you find the right car. A lot of people might think buying a used rental is a bad idea, but we have never had one issue with any of the four cars we've gotten here over the last 15 years. read more

This place is awful I spend a lot of money renting cars from them I always bring the cars back clean vacuumed and washed I had a reservation for July 3rd and 4th and when I confirmed it on July 2nd they informed me that I would now be paying a dollar a mile extra? When I made the reservation 2 weeks ago it was unlimited mileage ? Needed a van to transport family from Seattle back to Spokane. This place had a good price and because it is off airport lower fees and free parking. The van was clean and reasonably well equipped. It did not have blue tooth connectivity though. I assumed all cars do these days. This was an inconvenience for me as I absolutely do not talk and drive. On the 1st day of our vacation, as we entered the Spokane area, our car stalled & had to be towed to a shop. After a very long stressful day, we found ourselves at the Thrifty counter. One star is actually to much for them. I rented a 300 s for 4 days, and i will never rent from them again. They took $900 out of my bank account for a rental that was supposed to cost $250. Then when i got there they made me pay another $140. It cost me close to $1000 to rent a car for 4 days. DONT RENT WITH THEM. Unless you like being ripped off. read more

Rented a car for a week first time from thrifty. Good costumer service but the car wasn't cleaned properly when I first picked it up and even found recipes from the customer befor me. Took the car to pick different plants to bring home. Was told there was ashes in the car witch actually was sage I picked and cedar. I explained to them my travels and was accused of smoking in the car! Now trying to charge me a $300 cleaning fee. I know the car wasn't cleaned I still have the recipes from the person that dropped it off right before I picked it up. The employee was very rude also. I'm not paying to clean a car that wasn't even cleaned before I rented it. And what about the confidentiality of the person renting before me? I'd be mad if someone got my recipes with my information and employer listed on the recipe as well. Wont do business there again. read more

I was having work completed on my dodge truck and due to the covid I didn't want to wait around all day in the dodge lobby so I rented a car to drive home to wait for my car to be finished. I drove straight home and then back in the afternoon. Two days later I received a call saying I must of hit a curb or something as they alleged there was damage to the right front tire as they said there was a hole in the sidewall. I told them I hit nothing nor did I run over any potholes. I told Andrew who rented the car to me I I would take a polygraph test to prove I was telling the truth. He said he was sorry but who ever was the last to rent the car was responsible. I told him I would not pay for this and would go to small claims court as they are in my opinion trying to commit fraud on this car rental as I did not damage this car. I would never recommend anyone renting from this company. read more

A week later got charged for damage to the car (there was absolutely nothing done to the car, it was returned without any damage at all) and was also changed for smoking in the car when I did not smoke in the car. Our first time using Thrifty will be our last. My husband and I returned a car on 12/5. We checked the car over before returning it. No damage was noted either by us or by the staff at the location when we turned it in. Some 18 hours later, my husband received a call that there was damage to the rear bumper and we were responsible. The car had been out of our possession for almost a day by that time, but somehow it was still our fault. This damage was absolutely not present on the car when it was returned. I guess we should have taken a detailed video before we returned it but we were under the impression that Thrifty was a reputable company. The vehicles at this location are parked outdoors, in an open lot. Anything and anyone could have caused that damage. read more

PROS: The guy who helped me had good customer service skills CONS: Everything else! If you are looking for an absolute filthy car this is the place! The ironic thing is they own a car detailing place on the premises but they clearly do not take the time to clean their rental cars both inside and out. Just unsanitary The outside very clean the inside disgusting!!1 It must have not been clean in more than four or five moths or more it was so dusty and dirty. The price was also extremely high but that's fine as long as I get a dependable and clean car. Thank God I only needed it for a brief time or I would have taken it back. Unfortunately depending on time of day you pick up car you cannot always see everything. Would not rent from here again. I rented a mini-van through the Thrifty website, received several confirmations, and then arrived at 5:30pm (as scheduled) on a Friday night to pick up my car and they had no van. They didn't have one - it wasn't being serviced, cleaned, or returned late - it didn't exist. They never called and just waited til I showed up to let me know. We drove to the airport location where we ended up paying 4x what we were quoted and got a way lesser vehicle. Thrifty ruined my vacation. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone ever. Go somewhere else, even if it costs more. It's not worth the risk of a ruined vacation. read more

My husband and I planned a trip and decided to rent a car from Thrifty. I booked this time through a third party. We have rented from Thrifty numerous times before. Most times we were satisfied. We drove to Thrifty over on North Wall in Spokane. The agent behind the counter asked us for our insurance, driver's license etc., I asked if he wanted mine since I would be driving the rental back to our home but that was all. We were told that he would need to add a $12.50 a day charge and he had no way of charging us for just one day that he would have to charge the fee for the full week of our rental. If this is an added fee, then it should have been disclose. As stated above, we have rented from Thrifty before and have never been charged an "added driver fee". We are married and our insurance is top notch and one policy. What a rip. Needless to say we decided to take our car and not rent from Thrifty. Our $288.00 rental would have been more like $375.50. My folks wanted to rent a car to take a little trip to see relatives. They phoned for information and were excited that they could get an ok deal on what they needed. Upon arriving to pick up the car they were told that their broad form insurance would not be acceptable even though it is designed to cover them in ANY vehicle they sat behind the wheel of, they needed FULL coverage insurance in order to rent a car. Needless to say they were disappointed. So I decided to rent it for them as I do have full coverage insurance and was then told that I would have to use my own personal credit card to complete the transaction, and that I would need to pay an extra amount of money as well in case the car was not returned on time. The car was to be returned on Sunday afternoon. when we arrived the office was closed so we called the number on the receipt and was redirected to the office in a different location only to be told that there was a drop box for the key and paperwork and to fill out the paperwork and leave it in the drop box and the car in its designated spot. We looked at the paperwork to see if there were instructions as to how to locate this designated spot, and ended up walking around the entire building looking for this "drop box" that turned out to be a mail slot in an unmarked door with a tiny sticker that said "Drop keys only" on it. So I phoned the number on the paperwork myself to clarify exactly what was meant by "designated spot" to leave the car in and was put on hold. When the kid came back on a few minutes later he answered as if I had just called and asked me to please hold again. I replied "again?", that is all I said, I was not rude to him nor did he give me a chance to say another word before he HUNG UP ON ME! So I dialed the number again, this time he said that I would just have to hold until he could get to me........... At this point I had had enough of standing in 90 degree heat with my elderly parents so we wrote down the information on the mileage, dropped the keys in the slot and left. We will be returning tomorrow morning to get this straightened out. I would like to say that this was a VERY POOR WAY TO TREAT A PAYING CUSTOMER! I have worked in customer service for over 12 years, I understand that there are times when things get busy, but you do NOT leave your customer hanging like this. If you are too busy and expect long waits then take a name and a phone number and return your customer call as soon as possible, you DO NOT HANG UP ON YOUR CUSTOMER for any reason. You EXPLAIN what the customer needs to do on an after hours drop off, not leave them to try and figure it out on their own. I will NOT be renting from Thrifty/Dollar again and I will be letting other know of the treatment we received as well. read more

The manager Rob was professional and very helpful. I rented a full size off the internet then upgraded to a minivan when I got there. The Dodge caravan was new (2013 with 14000 mi) and had neat options and lots of power. Overall price was reasonable. I'm pleased and will rent there again. I recommend this location. read more

We had to exchange a car that we had rented in Seattle which had developed a mechanical problem and were directed by the area manager to contact the folks at this site. They could not have been more helpful. The manager, Mr. Sherman, ably assisted by Carey (sp), worked out all of the paperwork for the exchange really quickly and got us going in our replacement vehicle in just a few minutes. And they were just great folks to deal with. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Marcus was very helpful when we needed to switch cars when I discovered that a Subaru legacy is considered a compact SUV. I consider that a four door sedan not an suv. Nonetheless Marcus got us into a dodge journey which fit our needs. A bit more expensive but made the trip more comfortable. read more

Pro- The guy that helped me was wonderful excellent customer service he was very helpful and picked me up from my dealership while my vehicle was being worked on, he was very personable and you could tell he was totally about the customer I believe his name was Mark. Cons- Everything else, the car was horrible it was making a noise that sounded like it had to do with the breaks, I had to have the car for a few days after two days thrifty called me to tell me I had to bring the car back it was due for an oil change very unprofessional this person I dealt with was horrible very rude and short on the phone when I was frustrated with having to being the car back. They told me that they would have another vehicle ready for me when I came in 2 and a half hours later they finally had a smaller car for me. The "manger" did not do anything that was helpful and it looked like he didn't have a clue on what was going on in his own store! I had been looking for Mark wanting to deal with him again but the way they made me feel that wasn't an option. The "manager" obviously had short man complex and cant handle someone wanting to deal with someone other than himself. I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere and instead of apologizing all he said was well sorry you feel that way. Not only will I never rent from them again word of mouth will be traveling to friends and family to NEVER rent from Thrifty and stay away from their shady business practices its really sad that one person can ruin it for everyone they should probably think of hiring a different "Manager" I will take my business to Enterprise!! read more

I reserved a car as my car is in the shop for maintenance. My wife dropped me off. The attendant wanted my proof of insurance. I've rented all over the country and never had to show proof...but since I don't carry my card in my wallet (it's in my car), I called my wife back to give me our insurance proof card from our other car. I showed it to the attendant and he said "it doesn't show how much coverage your have". I said I don't carry my policy around in my pocket. It wasn't good enough for him. Its weird that its good enough for law enforcement but not for this guy. Speaking of Law Enforcement....I was in uniform as I had just got off work....maybe this guy just didn't like Law Enforcement. Never ever had this problem before and I've rented many cars here and across the country. I left without a car.....never again Thrifty. Bad reviews every chance I get!! read more
