I brought my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe to this dealership for service and was told my transmission, that was replaced 3 1/2 years ago- had a case half leak and required full replacement at a cost of approximately $4,500. I was pressured to consider the repair and was even offered a partial "goodwill" discount. Because the diagnosis was so serious and expensive, I sought a second opinion from an independent mechanic I trust. That second opinion found: * No transmission failure * No case half leak * No need for transmission replacement The actual issues were: * An overfilled transmission * A drain plug O-ring * A hose clamp Had I not gotten a second opinion, I would have paid thousands of dollars for an unnecessary repair. That is deeply concerning. I was told the pink siliconesealant that showed in the blurry. Pictures was a leak and it's not. I'm sharing this so other customers know to get a second opinion before authorizing major repairs from this dealership. Based on my experience, I no longer trust their diagnostics. read more

On Monday, September 15, I delivered my car to Midway Hyundai service department for a scheduled extended warranty repaint. I was told it would take possibly a week maybe 10 days max. Because of the short work time they were not authorized to give me either a loaner or a rental from, the dealership (even though this extended warranty was due to part faulty paint) That Friday I called and they could not tell me when the car would be ready, and no, no impossible to give me a car to drive. I called the next Friday, September 26, only to hear the same story no car no rental no loaner. At this time they had had my car for two full weeks. To say I was.upset was an understatement. The service man did call me back within a half hour and told me that in fact, they would get me a rental for the remaining time it took for the repair. Imagine my surprise when I got a phone call Tuesday morning September 30 from the paint shop saying they had just got in my car the day before and wanted to update me on the status!! Sonia said she called all of her clients Tuesday and Thursday just to give everyone an update so we're all on the same page. They had to send the car back and contact Hyundai again to confirm a new problem on the roof (the service department had already seen this and pointed it out to me, but didn't put it on the service order I guess.) It meant another day down. This week on Tuesday (October 8) Sonia said the painting is in progress. Parts will be replaced on the car. I should get it Friday. Fingers crossed. I have not gotten any phone call from Midway about the length of this paint job. no Call. No explanation. No apology. "Your car got lost on the back lot for two weeks." After having spent some time at the competitors dealership, this a was breath of fresh air. Everyone was as nice as could be without having that 'car dealer', high pressure feel. In fact this dealership is owned and operated by family with exception of a few employees. From the first phone call to our in person visit they were very courteous. While waiting for my wife to arrive from work they even offered to buy me dinner from a local place. Although I declined, it was nice of them to offer. We did end up purchasing a vehicle from them and never did have them push hard for adding extras, although they did give us all options. They were respectful of our decision decline options. The dealership itself was warm and comfortable. They do have a large TV and gas fireplace which was nice while I waited for my wife to show up. I have to write a review for such GREAT service I received yesterday at Midway Hyundai. I needed a small repair on my Santa Fe I purchased from Midway back in 2020. I LOVE my Santa Fe and really except for oil changes and routine service it has been maintenance free. I had the windshield replaced recently due to a rock crack. Somehow the windshield wiper fluid hose wasn't working properly, (probably due to the replaced windshield). Midway promptly repaired the issue and sent me on my way in about 15 minutes and no charge. WOW I was impressed and grateful! They followed up with a text to make sure everything was OK. Again... WOW what incredible customer service! So glad I can trust my car maintenance place. read more

Taking my money was the easy part, getting a refund is near impossible. Purchased a car in January 2020 and along with it we opted for the GAP coverage. We knew exactly what car we wanted so they didn't really have to sell us on a vehicle. The whole process was great and easy. But we refinanced with another bank and want a reimbursement for our GAP coverage. We started the process in the beginning of July, every thing is taken care of on our end. The loan is transferred and all the necessary paperwork was submitted. But it is now the end of August and still have not gotten our GAP coverage reimbursement. I've been given the run around and the person helping me has been playing the blame game and not taken responsibility for his lack of professionalism. I've emailed and called but have not been given any direct answers. read more

To begin with, when James was the service manager, he made things happen. The owners were always great, as well. When James retired, it all went downhill. The computer head went south 2 months into buying this 2020 Tuscon. It would go black, and it would make our phone screen go green with black stripes. For months, we showed them what it was doing, only to be brushed off. They would always say that they will look into it and will call us, and then we'd never get a call. We'd call and leave messages asking if anything was figured out, and no one would call us back. We'd have to make the drive up and over the hill to go there to try to get answers, which was an hour each way. Again, we'd get brushed off. Being told that they would get back to us. They finally put in a new head. We felt the problem was fixed, but we were wrong. It started all over again, 3 weeks later. The exact same thing. We started the dance all over again. We'd take the car and SHOW them. They'd tell us the same thing, thant they'd look into it. This was when the car had 32,000 something miles on it. We did this for over 2 years!! Each time, we were patted on the head and were assured that they would get an answer from Hyundai. Finally, 2 months ago, they saw again that it was doing the black screen on the computer head and the green and black lines on my phone. They tried to say it was my phone. It wasn't. It worked fine on any other car it was connected to. So the new service manager said that they needed to start at the bottom and try a new USB port. She never said that now the new head they put in was out of warranty!! That we were now at 72,000 miles!! So we were thankful, and they put in the USB port. We were hopeful. Three days later, I was calling them, and now I couldn't use the Bluetooth!! I could not do calls!! And the green and black lines on my phone were also back!! I called the dealership and explained what was happening. I was talked to like I was the wrong one. They finally gave me an appointment to look at it. They saw it in action when we got there and said they would look at it. 2 hours later, they called and said they were done. We came back only to find out nothing was done. After I told them that was unacceptable, they said to give them my phone and have one of the techs drive it to recreate what it does. So we did. Two hours again, we waited. We saw it come back, but no one came and got us. So we waited a bit, then I went to find out what they found. We were told that everything that we had been telling them all this time was observed by the tech. It also did it on the tech's phone!! So now what will they do? Absolutely nothing!! They said they would have to call corporate and try to get them to pay for another head!! We were told that it was the computer head, but here's the new clincher!! We were over the 50,000 miles now, and it wasn't on warranty anymore!! Go figure!! So we waited for a week and no calls from Midway Hyundai. So I called a week later. I asked to talk to one of the owners. They would not talk to me!! So I talked to the service representative that we always talked to, and he was very unpleasant. He told me to call customer support at Hyundai because corporate refused to fix the problem. So I did. I talked with a real, sweet young lady. I felt she would help. She said she'd take my concerns back to the dealership and would call me by the end of the week. She called me the next day and told me Hyundai refused to help us. I was told that it didn't matter that the dealership kept putting us on the back burner. Nor that it was a problem way before the 50,000 mile date. I was told we'd have to pay for the replacement, and I should call the dealership to see what they could do to help us. So I called the dealership again. I asked to talk to the owners. Again, they refused to talk to me. So, I talked to the service representative again. He was again very short with me and said they couldn't even give us a break on the computer head, that they only tried to be nice replacing the USB port since it was past the warranty. He would not address that the new port was defective!! I brought up that we had been trying since 32,000 mile mark. He brushed that aside. This review is continued in another review. (Except for the past year now that I'm living out of state) They've been so beyond helpful, and my wife and i's experiences are always top notch that my parents also went in and purchased their new Dodge Durango from these wonderful folks. They had the exact used car I had been looking for. When I arrived the black car was covered with yellow pollen so Jake the salesman had us drive to a car wash and he washed the car for us. He gave us the trade in value for my old car that I was asking for, got us a better rate than I had been able to find online for our financing and very little quick haggling on the price. He even adjusted the room temp for us. This is a family owned business and it has a warm inviting atmosphere without the high pressure over caffeinated sales staff that most people dread when buying a used car.
