this little furniture store has a hidden, cozy cafe nestled in the corner, and you can lounge on the different furniture while enjoying your cuppa (without laptops, or you'll get chased out). they serve up neighbor bakehouse pastries which never fail :-) I tried the cherry blossom matcha latte (with oat milk) and wasn't expecting much, but was surprised at how decent it was. the cherry blossom foam wasn't too sweet, and added light, floral notes to the slightly umami matcha. there wasn't any bitterness but you could taste the matcha. would recommend! read more

Do not buy products from Thuma. You will get no customer service. The fabric on the sectional was damaged when it arrived, we send a picture of this to customer service team, no response. What you will get is "I know this is frustrating, I will address this to one of our team members" the nothing. The entire customer service is an AI agent responding to your email with no real customer service. The entire business is a fraud. read more

I visited the store twice recently, where I toured the store & bought Turkish cotton slippers & a set of Turkish cotton towels. The towels are super soft & absorbent & very high quality. I haven't used the slippers yet as I intend to use them as travel slippers, but I am looking forward to it. My second visit was for a chai latte & almond croissant. The chai was perfectly made, not too sweet & the almond croissant was delicious & had a generous amount of filling. I have several friends who own Thuma beds & swear by them especially since no tools were necessary for assembly. They have accessories such as dog beds but probably intended for a dog 20lbs & above. I wanted to buy a Thuma bed, mattress, and underbed drawers. I had a question about delivery and availability of products / timeframe. There is no way to speak with a person by phone. Their help option is via email only, and they do not respond. They have a phone number, but they say they do not respond by phone and will follow up by email. I have no trust that if I ordered from them that I could have any ability to communicate with them, for any reason. So they lost me as a customer. FYI, I asked about issues with customer service via Chatgpt. There are numerous complaints regarding these issues. Also, I don't care about the yelp reviews that refer to coffee. read more

I was looking for a quiet and spacious cafe to relax in and Thuma definitely delivered! Primarily a furniture store, they also offer coffee bar classics and some pastries. Baristas and store associates alike were so warm. They were all just as excited as I was to talk about the location being a place to buy furniture and enjoy it while having some coffee and getting some work done. Coffee was fairly priced. Hard to really evaluate this place - I had a specific requirement for a platform bed and I walked in and asked about it. They were responsive: we don't have that but feel free to take a look upstairs if you want to be sure. I read lots of good reports on their bedframes but can't speak to it because they didn't have what I need. So 5 stars for responsiveness and one off for limited options. read more

YET I've been waiting for this showroom to open foreeeeeeever y'all don't even knowwwwwwwww the design major in me was so happyyyyyyyyyyy made a special drive up to sf justtttt for this lol not even gonna talk about the struggle to find parking bc Jesus lawdy anyways this showroom was great lol some products weren't out (like the felt sleeve thing I forgot the name of) everyone was super nice tho!! the dogs had lots of fun being pet & given treats lol & none of the employees were pushy or anything so that was great it also put some things into perspective bc you can see how some items look in relation to one another, since the website only shows the item itself & not how different things would look when staged together etc was also kinda nice bc I would see items I didn't remember from the website & look for the tag to see what it was & then discover thing I didn't know existed lol also got to sit on their mattresses so that was nice - the firm one is still much too soft for me tho (def grew up w tatami mats lol) didn't get to try anything out at the cafe bc we'd just eaten but I wanted to! def approved of the la marzocco lol there's also swatches you can take home but they email you a "receipt" which is interesting - then I realized you can just order a full swatch set on their website for free so LOL read more

Thuma is primarily a furniture store but my friend and I grabbed a coffee here and checked out the store. We had a great time exploring all the beautiful furniture and ended our visit sipping on a great cappuccino and enjoying the beautiful space. They are a laptop and no phone call space. It was nice to just catch up with a friend rather than be on our laptops. I really enjoyed my coffee and will definitely be back! read more

Worst customer service....ever. Spent over $3,000 for the Essential Bed and Headboard Cushion. Bed showed up, Headboard Cushion never arrived. Thuma NEVER contacted me ONCE. I sent multiple emails and always got a "We are so sorry and are working the issue" emails back. They did give me $100 off I guess to make up for the incompetence but nearly 3 months later I finally gave up and demanded they come get the bed and give my money back. They did but...you guessed it, they took back the $100! So sad it's almost funny. Look them up on TrustPoint and the BBB, so, so many bad stories about these guys. Japanese joinery is wonderful BUT pictures for assembling the frame could be better. If I were to provide edits it would be these: Inform in the assembly instructions up, down, left, right and screw locations. The pictures were small and even after studying and looking for intended clues, the frame did not easily snap together as implied. Buyer beware...this doesn't just snap together in 15 to 20 minutes. In spite of that inconvenience, I would highly recommend the frame. The quality is exceptional and the delivery was fast and easy. read more

Love Love Love this store! Everything they sell is so so thoughtfully designed. They gave me incredible service even though I was not ready to buy anything. Cheyenne was a caring salesperson. This place is like Heaven! Bought my husband at my 2nd visit. He loved it too. Usually he doesn't want to go into stores with me. But this one was totally different. Been looking at their furniture for a long time on their website. Their showroom on Chestnut Street is beautiful and a great addition to the neighborhood. Great to be able to handle the pieces. If you've ever had to move and experienced the anxiety of squeezing large pieces of furniture through tight hallways and doorways, you'll appreciate what Thuma has to offer. Not the cheapest stuff, but not the most expensive either. Priced just about right for quality and special advantages it offers. Coffee shop inside is a nice hospitality touch.
