What a find! A piercing shrill of what seems like several million cicadas greeted us outside. Inside Jim & Dana greeted us like family. Jim gave us a really great tour. You can taste the passion of his work in the product, and oh my, the tasty wares these folks have. I felt so strongly about the experience that I went back to my Arizona Distilling Co. review and removed a star. Not meant to take away from them, but Thumb Butte clearly deserved to be at least a star above. Their currently un-named premium whiskey was hands down the most impressive, and I rarely drink whiskey. I lean more on the vodka side of life, and thoroughly enjoyed every pour they had. I'm not a flavored vodka guy either, (note to the world - these folks don't flavor, they infuse, big diff, and I just punched myself in the head for even mentioning that word in the review). The Meyer Lemon & infused pepper vodka (Serrano & jalapeño) were the standouts. What really got my attention was the Western Sage gin. That was pitch perfect for my palate. Well done. My wife and I found this beauty after our positive experience at The Palace on Whiskey Row. Our server Martha advised that their whiskey was local. So, with that, we had to go find this place. We had my parents with us and my dad loves a good whiskey. We were warmly greeted by Jim. We almost didn't attend since Siri advised it was closed. Glad we called since we had a wonderful experience sampling the different vodkas, rum, and whiskey. Enjoyed the lemongrass vodka and took home a bottle of the rye. The sampling was a nice value but the friendliness of the staff really made it shine. We look forward to getting back next time we travel back to Arizona from Washington,DC. read more

I love the down to earth atmosphere here. All business is down by locals and you can tell they give special attention to detail. We have tasted most of their vodkas and gins and now it's on to the rum and scotch (still waiting on it to mature). The tour here is definitely worth doing! The guide/co-owner was so knowledgeable and did a great job at explaining their process. He was very passionate and answered all the questions we had. The tasting flight was awesome and the service at the bar afterwards was amazing. The staff and owners are all such pleasant people to chat with. I got the cucumber cooler cocktail and it was the best cocktail I've had in a really long time. I should also point out that I am not a big whiskey drinker (my boyfriend is) but I enjoyed all the samples I tried. We will definitely be returning! read more

Really enjoyed my first two visits, bringing home both the Western Sage gin and the Thumb Butte Rye. However, yesterday (9/8/19) was another story. After waiting eight minutes or so for some old fella to move his vehicle from blocking the entire parking area, he pulled into and parked in the space for which we had we had been waiting. After inquiring why he had to block traffic for an extended period, just so he could park, he became caustic, so we moved on. Let me explain that there were five of us: my young nephew, my little brother, for whom we were celebrating a 60th birthday, and three old ladies. We parked elsewhere and entered. We were enjoying ourselves for the most part, looking forward to trying the Roberts Rye, when this same old fella approached us, and while leaning in close, touching us, he proclaimed he has been bringing food to this place for all to enjoy "at my own cost" (no Thank you!), and invited us "outside" to continue the discussion. Keep in mind, we were sitting at a table, minding our own business. When we each declined his offer to "go outside", and after multiple requests to just "go away", he stated "Well I hope to never see any of you again". No problem. We were outa there. I'm sorry, but I am way past the point when I am going to let some old fart try to play out his tired old version of Gunsmoke. So, no Western Sage Gin. No TB Rye. No Roberts Rye. Thanks for the memories, but we'll not be back. read more

I hate to be the hater here but my husband and myself did not enjoy our experience. We were very disappointed, as we work nearby and this is walking distance to our shop. We stopped in one day after work, about an hour before closing. We were told since it was so close to closing we could only do half a tasting. We had 2-3 tastings that were poured into a single shot glass. We did not have 2-3 each, we had 2-3 to share. I tasted the first half of one and then handed it to my husband who tasted the remaining of it. It was then that we were told to "slow down or I will ask you to leave". Slow down? We were barely given a swallow! How slow can one drink a swallows worth? As grown adults we do not need to be told how to drink a sample that we paid for. At our age and size we can handle sharing a couple shot sized samples. We did enjoy what we sampled but it was not a pleasant experience. It was rather odd to be belittled by an adult while being a customer at an establishment in which we were nothing but quiet and respectful. read more

Fabulous Rodeo Rye Whiskey! We had it on the rocks. It has wonderful smokey and chocolate notes. The antipasto bar was excellent. Linda told me where to find the giant capers that were served. Enjoyed touring the equipment of an active distillery. Jazz music was perfect to cap off a nice soiree. Only wish that they had some of their bourbon and single malt to taste. Next time! read more

Awesome place. We enjoyed 2 flights of amber & clear spirits. Really good and barkeep was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different types of spirits. Going to use for xmas gifts! Only drawback is they are only open on weekends. read more

Enjoyable couple of hours there because it was more about the pride in what they create than how educated you are with spirits.
