This cafe is a gem! Recently changed ownership and the service is absolutely amazing. The menu is very well priced and offers a good selection of both breakfast and lunch/dinner options including bowls, wraps, pastries and even Peruvian ceviche! The ambience is casual and the space is really pretty with floor to ceiling windows. The outdoor sitting area is very tranquil next to the a little park. The entrance to the cafe is through the park entry on the corner of Wilshire and Stoner with The Landmark Apartments sign, there is plenty of street parking on the surrounding streets.

Great location! Friendly menu! Clean and welcoming. Staff- 5 stars. Will come again. Very relaxing with the water running and inside is quiet. Free WiFi.

Tucked inside what looks like a mix of apartments and offices, this little coffee shop feels like a hidden spot. There's a nice outdoor patio with umbrellas for shade, and inside it's very open, though seating is pretty limited. I was greeted by Mariza (per the receipt) -- super friendly and patient with all my questions. I ordered a breakfast croissant and an iced matcha. The matcha was easily the highlight! No added sugar (thank you!) and a generous amount of matcha, so you really get those earthy tones. Definitely something I'd come back for. The breakfast croissant, on the other hand, was just okay, nothing special and honestly something I could make better at home. At around $26 for the two items, the price felt a little steep for what I got. Later in the day, I came back for an iced americano, it was fine, but nothing memorable. Overall: the matcha is worth it, the customer service is excellent, and the vibe is really nice if you're looking for a spot to hang out. There's also a nice little courtyard connected to the property that adds to the atmosphere. I'd come back for drinks, but probably skip the food next time.

Sweet little cafe located in the lobby of a nice apartment building! I needed a place to set up shop in the area, and I'm glad I ended up here. The ambiance was just what I needed to get some work done: free fast WiFi, tons of sunlight plus overhead light, clean tables, and quiet. I was mostly surprised by the lack of noise. There was music gently playing in the background (nothing too distracting) and the other patrons mostly kept to themselves or were also working. The bathrooms are also spacious, bright, and well kept. This is clearly a super nice building, albeit a little sterile. I ordered a double espresso. It was a bold roast and I like that they had actual mugs and glasses if you order for here. The syrups are all Toroni, which isn't bad but I typically only get a flavored latte if the syrups are made in house. It seems like the rest of the food and smoothies are freshly made. I was able to find a parking spot in the surrounding neighborhood, but I did manage to come during the exact timeframe of street sweeping so I only had half the options. Should be a bit easier if you come anytime other than Thurs/Fri 10AM-12PM! I tried to enter the cafe from Granville and had to walk through an area that was not very pedestrian friendly. It might be nicer if you enter from Stoner, or through the park on Wilshire.

$17 for a sandwich and they give you 2 slices of turkey. Quality of the food is good but it's a total rip off.

Half-eaten almond croissant, vanilla latte, berry smoothie

A hidden gem tucked beneath an apartment complex in Santa Monica. We got a sugar free iced vanilla latte, berry smoothie, and almond croissant - we devoured all & had to immediately complement the owner who was so so nice ! They have indoor and outdoor seating, a little park area, & very comfortable seating. Parking around the neighborhood is free and easy.

This is a hidden gem! It's such a great (aesthetic) work space and the coffee and food is amazing. The staff is welcoming which is a huge plus. You can also enjoy the outdoor seating area.

The cafe was very nice and clean. The staff were very friendly. I ordered the steak and eggs (ordered steak medium well they suggest medium and should have gone with their suggestion) either way it was delicious. I would highly recommend this place the ambiance and service was A+.

We split the Los Cali Brekkie burrito which features sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, French fries and a house made Sriracha aioli but we substituted the cilantro aioli. The filling of the burriot was super soft and mush but it worked. There was a guy out back frying up fresh donuts. I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. I think I ended up paying $12 and added tip on top of that. The restaurant itself is cozy. Everyone was dressed up~ so I'd say this place is a little more dressy than casual. The menu isn't too expensive, which is kind of nice. The korean aguachile was yummy and reminiscent of dongchimigooksu type of broth. The crispy kimchi pancake was divided into six parts and topped with some greens with a side of dipping sauce. This was yummy, but if you've had Korean pancake before this is pretty standard. The creamy chicken broth and fresh noodle was also a nice little soup to share. I don't recall anything, particularly stand out about this dish though. Stir fried hen of the woods mushroom: this is a nonspicy ddukbokki with mushroom. It was a good dish for the vegetarian minded friend at the table. :) Finally, I thought the short rib was the best dish we had that evening. It was nicely cooked and seasoned, and incredibly tender to eat. Service was attentive, and everyone was very kind. Overall, a very pleasant experience and would come again.

I was so excited for…read moretwo of my favorite cuisines to come together in an intimate dance between the vibrant flavors of Mexico and the deeply complex taste of Japanese food. Here are some improvements that could be made: 1. I have no problem paying for a quality meal, but the prices were slightly off from what seemed adequate. 7 dollars for chips and salsa but 18 dollars for 4 yellowtail handrolls is just one of a few examples of an interesting price discrepancy. I will say the yellowtail handrolls were delicious! 2. Flavors and dishes on the menu were slightly misleading. We ordered the Osaka burrito but got a deep fried chimichanga, it was a little heavier than what was expected from the panko encrusted description (just put Osaka chimichanga). The tomatoes in the slaw were saved by their mango friends which balanced out the flavors enough to eat the entire dish. The abundance of salt in the tomatoes drew out too much moisture causing some unwanted sliminess, and made them so sad I felt obligated to sign them up for therapy. 3. The cauliflower dish is such a great idea, but the flavor of the cauliflower overpowered all of the other components of the dish. If the cauliflower were fried as much as the burrito was with a healthy amount of achiote seasoning, and the 4-6 pomegranate arils were actually a robust pomegranate sauce drizzled around the dish, it would be a 10/10 veggie plate. I will say on a positive note, the service was great, and the waiters were so nice when we were disappointed with the food. They took back our dish with no hesitation and took it off the bill no problem. If you are out on Sawtelle, looking for a good vibe, and don't mind opening up your mind to some new flavors, then Hermanito is a great option.
