Awesome fun, little bar with a pool table. Wandered in here on Friday afternoon around 5pm, my girlfriend and I were at Cottage Hospital all day and wanted to play a few games of pool. The bartender working was extremely nice as well as the patrons of the bar. Seemed like the type of bar to have regulars, it was homey and very welcoming. We played a few games of pool ($.75/game) , even 1 with a customer at the bar, and we really enjoyed this little spot. The hospitality of this place was unmatched and they also do karaoke Friday nights! I think a few other days as well, but still, pretty neat. We will definitely come back and visit again next time we are in the area. read more

Jeff was such a great bartender. I just recently turned 21, and he was very patient, gave great recommendations, quick service and was very personable. How can I say this without being angry? My friend and I walked up to this establishment excited to sing some kareoke, but we were stopped after several several not minority women walked in and were told that the bar was at capacity. The messed up thing is I was able to see in the bar and it was far from capacity. The bar Uptown Lounge was way more packed and lively and they weren't discriminating on letting anyone in. I came up to Santa Barbara from LA and never expected to be treated like this. It pains me to say that racism is obviously in full affect here. read more

What a great time we had at this little Tavern. They have karaoke on Friday and Saturday night til 2:30 am which was pretty cool! The KJ's name is Mike and he's been doing it for 20 years - what a great host. It was a cool little spot and everyone was so nice and welcoming. One of the bartenders named Carlos made me a special drink which was soooooo good it kind of creeped up on me. I told him I only drink rum and he mixed up something so refreshing I couldn't stop drinking it. Next time you pop in there tell him to make you "the Carlos" with rum that he made for me lol - delicious. I would definitely come back here. read more

Divey but endearing spot. Prior to the other evening, I had only ever come here for their Friday night karaoke events. They have always been quite popular and there's typically a packed room. I feel that the gentleman hosting the event does a wonderful job and the music selection is superior. I came in this time around on a Thursday night, fiesta week, and there were surprisingly just a few other patrons. Talk about a hidden gem of a spot. Sandy, our bartender was friendly and efficient and made sure that our group was taken care of. The bar was clean and organized. Even the bathroom was tidy which is a rare occurrence for dive bars. I have only ever ordered beers from here but they do have a full selection for your needs. I like how Tiburon also has a modern jukebox which you can control from an app on your phone. Being able to select songs from the comfort of your seat beats the heck out of feeding money into some dirty machine. A good overall spot if you're looking to separate yourself from the craze of the downtown bar scene. read more

This place is so good. Quality bartenders, lots of seating, not too bright or a bunch of sponsored signage or any of that. Owners are there all the time, place is not too loud, they've got non-alcoholic options if you are driving. Karaoke nights are great, hosts sing and the atmosphere is supportive not sobbish or anything toxic. Hosts are best I think I've ever seen. Love this place. read more

On friday i went to Tiburon Tavern with my friends for karaoke night. this old decrepit looking man, maybe in his 60s? was heckling young women the whole night yelling "hey cowgirl let's ride" and when a woman was dancing "SIT DOWN LADY" to multiple women for no reason. he then sat down next to my friend and started talking to us, leaning in really close to my one friend. when she asked him politely to move away from her a bit he said he can't be told what to do, and got closer. she repeatedly asked this man to leave her alone and he wouldn't give. he was obviously drunk and clearly had something wrong with him. when we told the bartender that he was harassing us she shrugged her shoulders and said "welp he's the owner" it's un-fathomable that a person can be treated/talked to the way we were tonight and how they can still be open ?!!! i don't know. the bar owner and bartender are old enough to have great great great grandchildren, if i sneezed they would've turned to dust. is there not a retirement age in this country ?! sad. it was musty and small, old and dated, the set list was sh*t and and liquor bottles have thick layers of dust and i am so glad i didn't spend a dollar there. the bar owner and bartender are old enough to have great great great grandchildren, if i sneezed they would've turned to dust read more

Last time I visited Santa Barbara, I searched in vain for a bar and ultimately settled for a flask of Smirnoff from CVS mixed with hotel tap water and a packet of Crystal Light while I watched Forensic Files on a tube TV from the edge of a lumpy bed. Clearly, I was in the wrong part of town. Not this time; this weekend I lucked out and stayed across the street from Tiburon Tavern-- my new favorite reason to visit Santa Barbara. Kevin manned the bar and despite a robust bunch of drinkers, refreshment was served up in a blink. He was the super-coolest and I was even treated to a side story about the esteemed former owner (may he rest In peace), Eddie. Saturday is karaoke night which always invites a potentially interesting group, but every single person past Tiburon's albeit intimidating entry door was worth sharing a beer with. Décor is classic, perfect dive and they take credit cards which is always a bonus. It's definitely a "locals" place which, living in a beach town myself, I know can sometimes be synonymous with "assholes," but not here. I particularly enjoyed my chat with Paul--printer, pilot, drinker, and native about the best ways to catch a concert in Vegas. If you need calories other than beer to sober up, bring change because the only snacks you're getting are from a vending machine. Bottom line, visit Tiberon for cool people and great service, and experience locals who make you feel welcome. read more

Amazing bar. I'm from out of town and I heard of this place from multiple establishments. Finally checked it out after a long days work and I have to say- it definitely delivered. Nice spot, easy to get too, with friendly local people that will strike up a conversation with you. Special shoutout to the bartender Rosa who served the BEST drinks. Off the track of the tourist bars down town, this dive has friendly tenders, drunk locals and Karaoke. What more can you ask for in a dive bar. Friday nights Karaoke turnout is big. A friendly place to pull up seat and toss a few back... I was in town for a concert, and spent most of the night wandering State St. looking for a place to wet my whistle after the show. Downtown SB was pretty dead on a Wed night, so me and my gal ventured off the strip to some dives that all left something to be desired.... I gave the old Tiburon a call to ask how late they were open (it was about 11:30pm), he replied, "2am, we're like a real bar, dude" Haha, I knew this had to be the place, me and my gal Uber'd up to the top of State st, we were relieved the see the sign posted out front "A/C IS ON!" We walked in and took a seat at the bar next to a couple of regulars, they immediately started chatting us up as the bartender poured us some drinks. Very friendly and welcoming, soon the place began to fill up, music on the jukebox and people playing pool, overall a great casual atmosphere with cool people. We hung with our new buds until just about closing when they finally gave us the boot, we thanked them for the hospitality and were on our way....wonder if we'll ever make it back to the old Tiburon Tavern. read more

As far as dive bars go, this is one of the better ones. I enjoy coming here for sports and shooting pool. This is a locals bar that is open to newcomers all the time. The bars done a good job keeping people you wouldn't want to drink with out. If you walk up and sit at the bar you'll most likely find yourself in conversation with someone about something random which is pretty cool. the draft beer selection seems to be growing and getting better.
