I made my first visit to Ticho Eye Associates yesterday. There are several offices, and I was at their offices in Tinley Park, IL. That is part of an Advocate Health Care office building and it is adjacent to a surgicenter just off the intersection of I-80 and LaGrange Road, very easy to find for all to find including Uber and Lyft drivers. There is ample parking. This was a yearly follow-up non-emergency appointment in a new setting for my ophthalmologist which included a new pair of glasses for me as I wanted to replace my older ones. My ophthalmologist is a provider at the practice and it was great to see her in her new setting; they are state of the art equipment and computer applications utilized. The staff are excellent. Part of the staffing include an optician who really knows her field. We found a suitable glasses frame very easily. The orientation of the practice accommodates all ages including pediatric care. As I came into the practice via Medicare, supplemental coverage and out of pocket, I do not know their insurance details. When making an appointment, I would ask about insurance coverage including optical. Note: if you wish bring your own coffee; there are vending machines in the space between the office complex and the surgicenter which is near the main entrance to the building. read more

Dr. Ticho might leave a tube in your eye and cause irreparable damage to your left eye!!! 0/10 recommend.

I had cataract procedures for both eyes then eyelid surgery after that. Those that I dealt with in the front office are polite even when it is very busy. I value the one on one service that Dr. Ticho's technicians gave me when preparing me to see the doctor and taking me from test to test. The equipment, to me, is just amazing and is up to date. Great Doctor and staff. They are always helpful, concerned and caring. My first visit with Dr Ticho was a referral from the ER doctor at the hospital from an eye injury about 5 years ago. I have seen Dr Ticho since then many of times and every visit has been a positive experience. I have referred many friends and family and always hear great feedback. I love that he has 3 offices and the staff always finds a way to work you in when you need to. I'm very pleased with my continued care. read more

This place should be avoided at all cost. $160 doctor visit that doesn't include them printing out your actual prescriptions. That's another $55. Ridiculous. They should be ashamed. We will not be back. read more

Let me start out by saying the doctors are great! Dr Ticho took care of my step-daughter Autumn lazy eye and had surgery for it and it turned out beautifully. I started seeing Dr Megan Allen 6yrs ago for my oldest son Eric who is 11yrs old. I was worried about a picture I took of him it showed his left eye had bright white light in it I saw on the internet of possible eye problems about this. I discussed this with Dr Allen she stated I was right to come in and it looks like he has mild Amblyopia not enough for him to need a patch but prescription glasses will do. She stated the right eye was doing all the work while the left eye was being lazy. We started Eric on glasses and he got better each yearly visit. Then 2016 his brother Zachary came with Eric for a check up for kindergarten eye exam which I paid out of pocket for and Dr Allen claimed Zach had astigmatism and they need to keep an eye on it since he couldn't make out ABC's yet to try again for another exam in 6 months by the time I had to schedule an appointment I found out Dr Allen only works once a month and they suggested other pediatric ophthalmologist. So instead of scheduling Zach for 6 months I waited the year and started seeing Dr Koutnik which was July of 2018 and stated Eric had perfect vision 20/20 and he did not need glasses really but if he starts telling me his vision hurts or he is straining to put the prescription in for glasses she wrote me for Eric and for Zach she stated he had mild astigmatism and he'll need glasses which she gave me a prescription for. Now jump forward to 10/10/19 I made an appointment which by the way there protocol is if you have a balance you must pay first before making any appointment which I've done before and I called in September for this appointment nobody stated I had a balance and proceeded to make my appointment for me to show up and be turned away due to a balance not only did Merrybeth at the Orland Park office stated that Eric will not be covered so I had to pay out of pocket $170 but Zachary will only be covered with a co pay of $50. I told her ok I understand but it would be opposite child Zachary has astigmatism and Eric had amblyopia she stated no Dr Koutnik coded it the opposite so I spoke to billing manager Lorie about this basically its out of her hands its whatever the Dr codes it and I can speak to Dr Koutnik about it. It seemed nobody wants to investigate what happen from 6yrs ago til now but they want their past due balance right away. So today I called spoke to Gloria in billing about getting my children's medical records Gloria stated Michelle handles records but probably wont give me my records till I pay the balance at this point I will pay the damn balance and go somewhere else. For years your Doctor Allen told me one thing and I switch to another doctor and is now being told by staff its quite the opposite and even talking to my medical insurance they stated not sure were they got Zach will be covered but he will not cause their terms are they will pay for medical exam once every two years so this year Zach will not be covered since he saw them last year. Sad they will be losing a customer due to lost communication and no urgency to check what happen just gives us our money now. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL!! UNPROFESSIONAL!! UNPROFESSIONAL!! UNPROFESSIONAL!! Honestly in the beginning I had nothing bad to say about Ticho Eye Specialists. How things have changed!! They only got a star because Yelp makes you give it. I called the office manager, Michelle for FIVE weeks to reschedule my eye surgery and never have gotten a call back. I was really surprised when Dr. Benjamin Ticho called me to question why I filled a grievance with my insurance. He never accepted responsibility for the wring doing of his staff and their unprofessional behavior. Every paitient deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and I didn't receive either. They also wanted to charge me a $50 fee because they said I had cancellations. Heads up!! If you make a change to an appointment even days prior to said appointment they consider it a cancellation. I wasn't notified of this until today and I've been there at least a year and a half. So it doesn't matter if your father is fighting for his life, or if you can't walk, or whatever emergencies you have. Their communication skills are horrible. The only reason I received a call today is because Dr. Benjamin Ticho wanted to know why I filed a grievance against his office. I told him he be angry with his staff for treating me the way did and not me for standing up for myself. read more
