Excellent caregiver. Listens, ask questions, very thorough exam. Extremely professional. Would recommend to my family and friends.

That is part of an Advocate Health Care office building and it is adjacent to a surgicenter just off the intersection of I-80 and LaGrange Road, very easy to find for all to find including Uber and Lyft drivers. There is ample parking. This was a yearly follow-up non-emergency appointment in a new setting for my ophthalmologist which included a new pair of glasses for me as I wanted to replace my older ones. My ophthalmologist is a provider at the practice and it was great to see her in her new setting; they are state of the art equipment and computer applications utilized. The staff are excellent. Part of the staffing include an optician who really knows her field. We found a suitable glasses frame very easily. The orientation of the practice accommodates all ages including pediatric care. As I came into the practice via Medicare, supplemental coverage and out of pocket, I do not know their insurance details. When making an appointment, I would ask about insurance coverage including optical. Note: if you wish bring your own coffee; there are vending machines in the space between the office complex and the surgicenter which is near the main entrance to the building.

Over the years, I've trusted them with my entire family as it has grown, and we've always made the drive because we believed we were valued as patients. On June 27, 2026, we visited the Hickory Hills location for the first time. Unfortunately, it will also be our last visit to any Morrison Eye Care location. It only took one experience for me to realize that, despite being a loyal customer for a decade, we are treated as just another number rather than valued patients. Morrison Eye Care is not the least expensive eye care provider, but we've always been willing to pay for what we believed was quality service. What I find most frustrating is that after spending a significant amount of money--both out of pocket and through insurance--I was overcharged by $10. While the amount itself isn't substantial, the way the situation was handled is what ultimately lost my business. When I noticed the overcharge, I contacted Kristen shortly after our June 27 appointment. She told me she was busy and needed to wait until the doctor came in, asking me to give her a week. I did exactly that. When I followed up on July 9, I was told she was still busy but had a sticky note on her desk about my refund. As a long-time customer, that response made me feel like my concern simply wasn't important. When my spouse came into the office today, he was initially told they didn't show a refund because the employee who handled it was at lunch. Only after I called back I was informed that they did, in fact, see the refund and would process it. At no point did anyone apologize for the mistake. Instead, it felt like the responsibility was shifted elsewhere rather than anyone simply acknowledging the error and making it right. Mistakes happen--I understand that--but accountability, communication, and customer service matter just as much as the care you provide. The issue was never the doctor. My disappointment is entirely with the staff at the Hickory Hills location. Whether you're busy or under stress, patients deserve clear communication, accountability, and respect. I shouldn't have had to discover the billing error myself, follow up multiple times, and continue chasing a refund for a mistake that wasn't mine. After 10 years of loyalty, this experience has been enough for my family to take our business elsewhere. We will not be returning, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend Morrison Eye Care based on how this situation was handled.

Yes he was wearing a mask and he said he got the shot, and then continued to chitchat about how his daughter attended a large gathering where 15 people later got COVID, but that his daughter didn't bc she had the shot. Not exactly what I wanted to hear when being in close quarters with someone. He honestly seemed sick. And he had open wounds all over his knuckles that were not bandaged up. They were bloody, and when I asked what happened to his hand he said "oh it's nothing, just dry and cracked." But he's a doctor and that should've been covered especially since I could see blood. I told him I'd like to continue doing my test rather than chitchat as I had lots to do that day. I got my prescription but the doc neglected to write the PD down. I realize the optometrist does this and not the doctor, but knowing that you need that number to get new glasses why wouldn't they just do that?

The staff seemed nervous and told me they were waiting for him to arrive. I was put in a room where someone (she did not introduce herself) gave me the exam with the letters on a chart. I could hear another patient in the room next door. I heard Dr. Kirk arrive at 11:30, an hour after my appointment. He treated the other patient first. When he finally came to me, he did not apologize or offer any explanation, or even friendly chit chat as he had in the past. While waiting over an hour for him, I had had to change appointments. He gave me a cursory exam, including dilating my pupils. I had to ask about my cataracts. He said they had grown and I could have the surgery or not. The he said he could change my prescription or not. No expert opinion or advice. He was not the same doctor I have known for years and I have made an appointment with another ophthalmologist. I will not be back.

My first surgery in my right eye went smoothly and follow up with Dr Ticho was fine. I wish I could say the same about my second surgery. The whole procedure was bad from the very beginning. It would take too long to list everything that didn't go well in that surgical center. Suffice it to say that my eye was not numbed sufficiently and I felt the beginning of the laser procedure. This led to more chaos in the surgical suite. After surgery I had multiple issues with my left eye including a post-op subconjunctival hematoma. I subsequently had multiple office visits -- all of which I made to specifically see Dr Ticho. Needless to say, I did NOT see Dr Ticho again at any of those office visits. When I asked why I wasn't seeing him the answer was always vague. I know he was there because I heard his voice in other rooms and the staff told me he was there. My left eye vision wasn't getting any better so I made the decision to stop attempting to see the man that did the surgery. I have since found an AMAZING ophthalmologist at Endeavor Health. He has since helped me immensely with restoring my vision in my left eye.
