Empanada Combo Rice and Beans Agua Fresca
    Angela M.

Been wanting to try this local spot for a while & happy I did! Placed an order online, order was pretty much ready to go when I got there - everything was super fresh & hot! The place was cute inside but we placed an order to go, so wasn't in there for long. Two couples were sitting at tables and eating. Had a foosball table which is always fun. There were 3 workers who were super busy making all of the orders fresh but they were attentive as soon as I walked in. I got the 2 empanada combo with rice & beans. The rice & beans were amazing - so flavorful. I got the chimichurri & pork empanada which was super tasty & the spinach artichoke one, which had a creamy filling on the inside. The empanada crust was so good too! Wish I ordered some salsa or something to dip in, but next time! My partner got the chicharron with rice (without beans) - incredible! I had a bite and immediately wanted more. Super flavorful, omg. Came with half an avocado too! A slice of lime would work so well to cut the heaviness too. We also got a fresca - a strawberry mango to split. Ordered a large & it was huge! Was refreshing but a little too sweet for me, topped it off with some seltzer and it was delightful. Will definitely be back! Looking forward to trying more.

Absolutely delicious!!! And gluten free!!! I had the loaded potato and spinach artichoke empanada combo. Side of tostones. Nice and crispy. Perfect size. Delicious dipping sauces. Go and check them out!

This place is amazing! Everything on the menu is super tasty! The owner Ruben is such a nice guy, always a friendly atmosphere. Can't say enough good things about this place

Ordered for poolside get together with my family, we got five different empanadas and also got the Chicharrón and tostones! Each empanadas had a lot of filling inside and everybody was happy with the selection! Will definitely be back!

Ordered from here twice this week. Great food!I am obsessed with the yuca and cheese balls! One of best ways I have ever had yuca. The plantains are also very good! The salad, rice bowls, empanadas and stuffed arepas were all good. And I love the sauces! Will definitely order again and try more stuff! Also love that most of it is gluten free.

Inside of restaurant had a cool vibe and was nice to be in. Rooftop was awesome and the highlight. Unfortunately the food fell short. For the price, it was pretty lacking in taste. Portion were ok but the food was all pretty lackluster. Mussels had curry in them but could barely taste it. Tacos were pretty bland. The drinks barely had alcohol in them? They tasted fine but had 2 drinks and barely felt a thing (I know my tolerance). Unfortunate on the food when it came to here. Likely would not return. On top of that, my damn car decided to up and die, so I've been bleeding money on Ubers just to get to and from work. I even had to go into work on my day off just to sit around waiting for the tow truck so they could junk it. Love that for me. After I handled business with the junkers, I said eff it and headed to Whiskey Neat. I was starving--no breakfast, running on fumes--and since my job's in Patchogue, I figured I'd finally try them for lunch. First of all... happy hour on a Saturday from 12-6?! Uhhh hello?? In my Angelina from Jersey Shore voice. And if you pay cash, you get the discount. Say less. They've got a fabulous small plates menu. I started with the French onion soup--ooey gooey mozzarella, cheese pull was undefeated. Soup was delicious too. I haven't had French onion in ages and it really hit. Then I had the pulled pork slider, which was really good, but BABY... those short rib croquettes? To. Die. For. I also had to get my classic deviled eggs. A little heavy-handed on the paprika, but still solid. Drinks were half off, so of course I indulged. Started with an espresso martini because I needed something to jumpstart my day. Then I had a French martini because duh--I'm a French girl ‍. That one was good. Finished with my classic cosmo. Not gonna lie, I've had better, but it did what it needed to do and helped me forget my troubles for a couple hours. Also great playlist of music. I got there and they were playing Ska. Love me some Reel Big Fish and No Doubt. Mixed with some Motown and Bob Marley. Made me remember the good old days.

I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.

Based on the location and decor, I really wanted to like this place. It's close enough to become a…read moreregular place for us. Parking: The lot is small, but appropriately sized for the seating inside. Plus, the valet took care of everything. Service: We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation, but were seated right away. It's seemed busy, but not packed, so I can't say if this is the norm, but everything was prompt. Drink orders were taken and came out right away, food service throughout the meal was prompt, and drink refills were always offered. Appetizers: Raw oysters were good. Could use a better cocktail sauce and maybe offer some hot sauce, but I'm sure the latter was available, if I asked. The fried calamari was a mixed bag. The breading wasn't too crisp, but the calamari was also perfectly tender, not rubbery. The breading just had no flavor or seasoning. Not even a little salt over the calamari when it came out of the fryer. That was disappointing. Dinner: My wife ordered the petite filet medium. I know it's tough to get a perfect temperature right on a thick cut filet, but hers was mostly medium well to well done throughout. I ordered the mussels with white wine and garlic as my main. The broth tasted like ... skim milk would be the best way to put it. I couldn't taste garlic, butter, or wine. The mussels were perfectly cooked, but all I could taste was mussels in skim milk. We ordered several sides which, in hindsight, we should have known were family style sized, based on the prices. Four sides for two people turned out to be quite a bit. I guess the server wanted to be polite and not point that out in case we did want four family style sized sides for two people, but that's fine. It's on us, not them. The shoestring fires were crispy. The mashed potatoes were a touch dry, but my wife likes the consistency. The asparagus were a touch undercooked, as was the broccoli, but you did get a good amount for the price. The one constant in everything we ate was that there was little to no seasoning on anything. I'm not talking over seasoning everything to the point that you don't taste the food. I mean not even a pinch of salt on anything. I don't like a lot of salt. I tend to go very light when I cook myself. If I'm adding salt to something at a restaurant, it's definitely under-seasoned. Had it been just one item, we might've sent it back or just let it go. Being that it was everything, I think it's more about how all food here is being prepared. Overall: Like I said earlier, we REALLY wanted to like this place. It just didn't live up to expectations. Sadly, we won't be back.
