I've been going to Dr. Nguyen for a few years now and wish I could give her even more stars. I was afraid of dentists since childhood. Dr. Nguyen, receptionist, Jennifer, are all very caring and great. Dr. Nguyen explains what I need, what she is doing and what insurance should pay and what it costs out-of-pocket. She has gone to bat for me when insurance did not cover everything they should have and she keeps meticulous records so there was no question that they owed me. She is very gentle and very thorough. I started seeing Dr. Nguyen about three or so years ago when my longtime dentist retired. When I asked my retiring dentist about her he told me that she had the best reputation and was a very nice person. I then researched her and found he wasn't exaggerating. This dental office is a true five star operation. Everyone is so easy to deal with over everything from scheduling to billing. I just got squeezed in because I cracked and lost a chip off a molar and was worried. Dr. Stephanie Hoa saw me within a day. She used their state of the art equipment to detect that the crack didn't go deep and the chip was fixable. She fixed my tooth and did a filling within an hour. It is 100% fixed and feels even better than my "real molar" did! ZERO PAIN! BTW- they have all the most updated dental technology. If you are looking for a dentist just for cleaning or more serious issues I seriously recommend you try Dr. Nguyen. Plus, I have always found easy street parking near her office. Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Hoa are excellent and have great credentials. The hygienists all do a great job cleaning teeth in a totally painless way. The front staff of Jennifer and Monique are so great and accommodating. Every single person there is so nice! I was worried when my longtime dentist retired. Not any more! This is more than a five star dental office because they operate so seamlessly and are very pro-patient. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I wish more medical businesses treated their patients this well. Doctor Nguyen is a friendly person and is very welcoming. Her staff were great and are professional. The staff made my teeth look fresh again. Tiffany Mai Nguyen's Dental Office is located at the corner of Santiago and 19th Ave which is an excellent location with plenty of 2 hour parking available. The entrance to her office is at the main entrance at the corner and is easily accessible. The interiors are newly restored and I absolutely love the energy of her dental office. In addition to being newly restored, the dental equipment is the latest and greatest with teeth x-ray machines that insta-upload photo x-rays of your teeth while using a fraction (about 5%) of radiation exposure when compared to older teeth xray technology. As a dentist, she is friendly, courteous, patient, reliable, and professional. Although this is her new office, she has been my dentist for over 12 years as she had previously served patients at the dental office over on Noriega and 30th Ave. That's at least 25 dental check ups from her without any mishaps or bad experiences. I think most of us prefer dentists that we trust and feel comfortable around. She provides that to me and more to the point that I often find myself falling asleep during checkups. Her new dental office has a "spa-feel" to it and the atmosphere is calming and most importantly very comfortable and über clean! PROS: Friendly people, comfortable and inviting office. CONS: Dr. Nguyen complains about how little the insurance companies reimburse her. She has overcharged me more than once, and it was a hassle to get her to reimburse me once we received the insurance statement of benefits. It's unprofessional to complain to patients about the reimbursement plan that is between the dentist and the insurance company, and to imply that the patient should pay more than the stipulated copayment. If she finds her agreement with the insurance companies to be onerous, she should take it up with them, or terminate the agreement. We patients pay plenty in premiums to the insurance companies, and should not be burdened with a dentist's financial difficulties. read more

After moving to the East Coast, I still visit the West Coast (mainly the Bay area) fairly often. Thank goodness for Dr. Nguyen - she was the only office that was able to schedule me in last minute after I got the worst toothache while on vacation! Her office is located inside the Sunset Dental building, and she's in Suite 3. The lobby area is very clean and inviting, and the receptionist is friendly and professional. The office as a whole has a very comforting feel, not only accommodating the patients, but also any family (such as children) with them. I noticed while waiting that Dr. Nguyen (and her receptionist) noted the birthday of a patient's daughter while she was sitting and waiting, congratulated her and gave her princess dental goods as a "gift". As friendly as it gets, folks. Dr. Nguyen is also extremely friendly and professional, as well as honest and thorough. She makes sure that you know what you're in for (in terms of how the appointment will go, as well as costs and return appointments), and makes a point to note any special requests that you have (for me, I have increased sensitivity, and she was very careful when looking and working with my teeth). It seems like a lot of Dr. Nguyen's patients stay with her (one of the other patients told me that she has been working for 20 years, and that they've been coming to see her for that whole time), and for good reason! Finally, after getting some decent dental insurance, I was able to go to this dentistry my wife consistently recommended for years. Though I was scared on my first visit, I ultimately was greeted and treated very well. I was not scared and they made sure of it. The procedures that I undertook also did not hurt. Everything was not how I imagined. The office staff were courteous and most of all they took care of my billing, and reassured me that everything would be handled and it did come through just as promised. I think more than anything I am most impressed with Dr. Nguyen's dentistry skills. I had a complication with one of my teeth. The cavity/decay was really gross, deep, and most of all, it was in a awkward position. It was literally growing on the side of the teeth and she was somehow able to get to it flawlessly. LOVE her! Dr. Nguyen is an amazing dentist! I'm glad she decided to open up her own office! She is always super friendly and she really cares about her patients. This one time I had sensitivity on one of my back teeth and I knew it was a chipped filling and I was terrified because that would mean NEEDLES! So I went to Dr. Nguyen and she confirmed that I needed to fill up my cavity again. BUT she checked my xrays and says that I wouldn't need a shot to numb my gums. I was SO HAPPY! Well she asked me what I would prefer, but I trusted her so I declined the shot. While she was drilling, she kept asking me if I'm okay. I didn't feel pain at all. Very nice! Let me preface this by saying that I have a long history of hating and dreading dentists because I have horrible teeth. Period. No matter how much I brush/floss, I just have terrible teeth. So it wasn't until I had a crown emergency that forced me to finally make my the semi-annual appointment that I had been putting off for almost a year. Thank you Yelpers for leading me to Dr. Nguyen walking distance from my new place. My first phone call was a good sign. They were so friendly, professional, and accommodating. When I arrived, the office was clean, modern, and so friendly. I was working with a new insurance, and they were so wonderful with helping me figure out my dental insurance. They actually sat down with me and made sure I understood exactly what was covered by my insurance and what was not. I was also welcomed with hot green tea, which was lovely. I also so admire Dr. Nguyen for really doing what is best for her patients. She easily could have told me that I needed a brand new crown, but she worked so patiently and hard to give my teeth time to reform around my old crown, and it ended up fitting perfectly! So that alone saved me upwards of $800. And when I needed two small caries filled, she offered to do them with no local anesthesia, assuring me that it would not be painful. Since I hate being numb and unknowingly drooling out the side of my mouth, I agreed. BEST DECISION EVER. I was in and out of that appointment within 30 minutes with no pain and no numb drooling! Seriously, coming from someone who HATES dentists, this was actually PLEASANT! I'm almost looking forward to my next dentist appointment! LOVE this dental office. Dr. Nguyen has been my dentist ever since I was a child. When I found out she wasn't working at the original office I saw her at, I immediately searched for her new office after I heard she was opening her own office. She's a great dentist. Super friendly and you can have a great conversation with you. She lets you know all the details before she starts anything and answers any concerns you have. I was going to do a root canal and I was pretty nervous. Dr. Nguyen gave me some visuals of what was going to happen and told me the whole process step by step so I would have nothing to worry about. Annie, the receptionist, is probably the best receptionist I've ever met. She knows what she is doing and offers drinks and snacks while we wait for Dr. Nguyen. I actually signed up for yelp just so I could rate Dr. Nguyen--she is that fantastic. I was able to make an appointment via email, which was great because we didn't have to play phone tag. Tiffany's receptionist, Annie, was super responsive and accommodating. She even asked for my insurance information after we scheduled the appointment to make filling out forms in the office faster and easier. When I arrived, I was the only patient in the office, and Annie and Tiffany greeted me as soon as I walked in. They are both very warm and welcoming. Annie explained that Tiffany had been working as a dentist for 20 years, but recently opened her own office so that she could develop better relationships with her patients, rather than have them shuffled around a group office. The experience felt very personal and tailored to my needs. Annie had already printed out all of my dental plan information. It was extremely useful to see everything laid out the way it was, and some of the information I hadn't even seen before. After going over my plan with me, she packaged it up nicely in an envelope for me to take home. Both Annie and Tiffany made it very clear what I could expect during my visit, and any follow-up steps I would need to take. There was a lot of attention to detail that I haven't experienced at other offices that was both very helpful and very comforting. Love her!!!!!! and all the girls that work there. From the moment you call to make an appointment you usually get to see how the service will be like, girls that make appointments where sooooo nice, very kind and attentive! They help me with a problem I had with my insurance number, they always helped with the best attitude. When I arrived it took me less than I expected to get there so I came super early, and the receptionist girls, offer me tea and to read magazines,while it was time for my appointment. The office is so clean, beautiful and neat, you can see all the effort the doctor and teamwork makes. Then I got into a room where a girl took me radiographies, she was also so nice and careful, and sice I got really early, the girl from the counter got the magazine I was reading in the Lobby and took it to me while I waited for the doctor. When I met the doctor, she was so Profesional, warm, attentive and makes you feel as comfortable as possible knowing that dentist visit stressed many of us. Then I got a teeth cleaning and it was perfect, she was also very explanatory about all my questions and about what she was doing, something I always like, she even told me stories to distract me and kept asking me if I was doing fine. At the end of my visit, I received a complementary little bag with sensitive tooth paste because my teeth are sensitive ( aawwwww ) she even care about this little detail I told her, and also got a tooth brush, dental floss and a lovely letter!! I have finally found my new favorite dental office! Never have I felt so satisfied with the dental care I was receiving AND also treated with such care by staff. Dr. Nguyen and her dental assistants makes it a mission to make sure you are comfortable the entire time and not experiencing any pain or discomfort. She is very easy to talk to regarding any of your dental concerns and will happily offer you advice and explain what she is doing while she's working away at your teeth. I have never felt pressure to have extra procedures done either. She goes over your X-rays with you carefully and explains what she thinks is healthy, okay (but doesn't necessarily need work yet), or possibly problematic which fell exactly in-line with what I was feeling myself about pain points in my mouth. I also must mention Dr. Nguyen's receptionist, Annie, is always welcoming and courteous! It might be a little odd to mention, but I think it's fantastic that she speaks so clearly and professionally both in person and over the phone. She is also very diligent in remembering to give you a reminder call before an appointment. I can't count the number of times in previous dental offices where the staff mumble or speak too quickly and are also forgetful. Annie is absolutely a pleasure. In fact, everyone at this practice is genuinely nice and you can tell they care about your well being. I've had X-rays, cleaning, and three composite fillings done so far. All equipment they use is very state-of-the-art and clean. All costs are discussed with you before anything is done so it is absolutely clear what you will be paying and what you will be getting. I went to Dr. Nguyen for years and she is the best dentist I have ever been to. I cannot emphasize enough how kind and thoughtful she is. My family would also come to see her and she even would hold my sister's infant when she was getting her teeth cleaned because the baby was upset. As for the dental piece, she NEVER recommended unnecessary treatments and dealt with a very complicated dental issue I was having. When I was pregnant and had a cavity, she gave me all the options of when I should get it filled with consideration to use of numbing medicine and the health of my baby. Changing this to a 3 star. I really liked it when I came here before so I figured I should come again for a check up. I called last week to see if I can check my insurance and book my appointment. She said she would have the check and will need my social security. Then said she'll have to call me back after she checks and hung up without taking my SS. I called another dental place and they were able to check my insurance as we spoke on the phone. I never got a called back from her and that was just rude. read more

Dr. Tiffany Nguyen is not only an excellent dentist, she is a very warm and friendly person. She will not do anything that is not indicated, prefers to take a conservative approach before anything more invasive, and she will not "upsell" you to get a dental procedure that is questionable or not needed. I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Nguyen last Friday and I was very pleased with my experience. Not only was the staff very friendly and attentive but the office was also extremely clean which I appreciate. I've had some traumatizing experiences with dentists in the past, however, Dr. Nguyen was very gentle and accommodating and I left with a full exam and filling with virtually no pain. After my exam, It was recommended I get my wisdom teeth remove, the receptionist went above and beyond and offered to call and set up an appointment with one of their referred oral surgeons. The receptionist was able to schedule my appointment within the next two weeks to avoid the holiday rush. This review is a bit overdue, but nonetheless should be shared as Dr. Nguyen and her team deserve far more than 5 star ratings! I had gone in to see Dr. Nguyen a little over a year ago now, after nearly a DECADE of not going to the dentist.. not even for a measly cleaning! Needless to say, I had a decent amount of work that needed to be done so I was in the office fairly often ; ) Every time that I visit, I'm greeted warmly at the front and made feel so, so welcome. Just as I mentioned in my first review, you definitely feel like more than just a dental patient! I was actually excited for every appointment that I had! The office is always immaculate and pleasant to be in.. aka isn't a stark white and scary like most dentist offices! The process for each procedure was always very quick and pain free. You're really well taken care of whether it's the amount of local anesthetic used for you to feel comfortable or even the way that you're positioned in the chair--everything is taken into consideration to make sure that you're as comfortable and relaxed as can be. Now that my teeth and gums are healthy, I no longer need to go in for regular appointments and procedures; although, yes, I am going in for cleanings now!
