I have to alter a lot of my suits and dresses for work and special occasions, so as soon as I moved to the area, finding a good alterations place was high on the list of to do's. I made an appointment with Tiffany a week in advance and when I arrived the door was locked and nobody was there. I had to wait outside for 20 minutes and finally she showed up, totally confused when I came in. Super unprofessional, as she didn't even give me an apology. She measured me quickly for alterations on a bridesmaids dress of mine, but never contacted me when it was finished. I waited a few weeks and finally contacted them myself. Expensive. Charged $10 just to take my measurements, which took about three minutes total. A lot of tailors do fittings for free. I should have called around, but I just walked in here and didn't have time to go somewhere else. I gave the measurements she took to the guy who ordered my uniform suits, and when I got my suits, they didn't fit. All her measurements were wrong. Thanks to that, it cost me money out my own pocket to have my jackets altered, and all my pants had to be replaced for a different size and a shorter hemn. NOTE: When I walked in the door, this lady was on her cell phone. She remained on the phone the entire time I was there, while she took my measurements, and when she checked me out at the register, and was still on the phone when I walked out the door. I went here because there were so many good reviews. So I took a beloved jacket of mine to get cleaned. When I got it back, the belt was missing! I asked her to look for it, and I dont know if she did or not, but she pretty much made me feel that I had lost it. From time to time I need clothes altered. Who doesn't? I usually hold off until I either do it myself or someone offers. I've just moved to town and I was headed for a wedding. Someone was going to need to come through in the clutch because I didn't have time for a mistake that leaves my pant legs two different lengths. I enter Tiffany's. She's laid back, with her feet up on the counter watching Vietnamese soaps. So far it's a recipe for awesome. The room is cluttered and not lavish with frills but there's no doubt that she's dedicated herself to her trade. Despite the slightly hectic surroundings, I'm immediately at ease. A tailor is working furiously in the corner and doesn't stop to acknowledge my presence. Work gets done here. She's sweet, and quickly takes control which is good because i kinda just want this to happen without too much lag. We hit it off at least as much as could be expected and within minutes we agree as to what should be done to the pants and shirt and I'm off. Come back a few days later and now she's calling me by name. Super cool. I think I've found a tailor but I better try on the clothes first. I change and emerge to use the 3 mirrors and fumble for the right words for a few moments when she interjects, "it's perfect". She's right. Now I'm psyched for the wedding, I leave tomorrow. Emboldened, I asked her if I could sneak in a pair of jeans before I fly out tomorrow and she was able to have them back within hours. Super cool part II. This place is pricy. They charge $3.50 per shirt! I came here because she was recognized for having competitive pricing. I think that's the most I've been charged for shirts to be laundered. I dropped off Friday and was given a Wednesday pick up date. I thought that was more days than normal. I went to pick it up in Thursday and was told the machine had broken causing a delay and was promised a call. I got a call two hours later. I won't be coming back here. read more

I had two pairs of jeans hemmed here and a sweater drycleaned. It only took two days and a total cost of around $25! I asked to keep the original hem on one pair of jeans. I've paid just $25 for that before. She also is great about lengths. On the second pair of jeans, I asked her to make them a little longer than she had originally pinned. She looked at me like it was a stupid question and said "You're sure?" (The first pair is perfect) Well, she was right. I have the jeans now and they're a tad too long. I won't talk back next time. I have never had any of my clothes altered before, but I bought two shorts and some jeans online a few months ago, I loved how they fit on me in every aspect except for the length. After months of having them just in my closet and occasionally wearing them but always being unhappy with them cuz the length. She was so helpful and patient with me because I didn't know really what to say or ask for, but she gave me great advice and made me feel really comfortable. LOVE THEM! They do INCREDIBLE alterations, like to the point where you can't tell something was every torn or needed hemming. They completely replaced the bottoms of three of my pairs of jeans...I have super short legs and the jeans that make my butt look good are all like 5 inches too long (but that is a bitching moment for another topic/thread). They dry clean things for SUPER CHEAP, do incredible alterations and are like a normal dry cleaner/tailor - NOT some like some supermarket-esque chain dry cleaner. I recently paid $103 for all of this: (!!!) 3 Pairs of jeans shortened and bottoms fully replaced to look like originals (This alone at some tailors can cost $30 a pair) 1 Three piece suit dry cleaned AND a hole fixed on the sleeve 1 Dress completely taken in, straps fixed AND zipper replaced 1 Dress slit sewn back together and the dress was dry cleaned 1 Dress simply dry cleaned 1 Two-piece suit simply dry cleaned Minus one star for not being open too too late on weekdays and for their crazy parking/location situation (and no U Turn at light in front of them...not their fault). I dry clean my suits for work, which means I have a day job, which means getting there by 6 pm isn't always easy. In fact, they have had one of my suits for over a month....soon! read more

I've been here quite a few times to get a couple of jeans hemmed and a few of my thicker jackets and coats dry cleaned, after wearing them whenever it rains. And I have to say, I think I found my go-to place for alterations. Tiffany is an extremely wonderful and personable woman. She is very easy to talk to and is very knowledgeable about her line of work, so you can expect to get your clothes hemmed and altered exactly the way you want it. The jeans I brought in to get hemmed came out perfect. Tiffany gave me an estimate on when they would be done, and it's great to know that she always finished her work exactly when she says she will. The parking lot is rather small, since it is also shared with the other businesses beside it, but overall Tiffany makes my trip all the way down to her shop well worth it. (And I live all the way up in Poway, so it's quite a drive). Definitely give her a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

Quite recently I ordered a pair of dress pants online so that I could wear them to several internship interviews that I had scheduled, but when they arrived, they ended up being way too big and loose for me to even wear. I didn't have time to ship them back for an exchange so I just decided to go to Tiffany's to have them tailored. When it was time for me to pick them up, they ended up fitting just the way I had hoped they would when I originally bought them and I was now ready for all my interviews. This place came highly recommended by a friend, so I brought in a few articles of clothing for alteration, and they came out perfect! -Fast forward a few years later, I had Tiffany alter my maternity clothes and each piece looked like it was made just for me. That's not easy with maternity clothes, since your body's always changing during pregnancy...plus nothing seems to be flattering when you're prego, but Tiffany (the owner) changed my mind about that! She is the cutest and sweetest lady! I've been bringing my clothes here for a few years now and just introduced my husband to this shop, so he's been bringing all of his clothes that need alteration here too. Now, just because it's an alteration shop doesn't limit it to just clothes... I bought a $500 dress online for my sister in law's wedding at the San Diego Zoo, big fancy event... well, i took it to Tifanny's cause it was too long on me and a little loose on the back, WHAT A MISTAKE! she ruined it! she did not just make it too small (obviously her own fittings were wrong), she also cut the back in a manner that you couldnt undo it, you could see the messy work, AND at the end she didnt discount one penny, her notion of client service was that she will clean it for free! A $500 dress that doesnt fit me! A few months later I lost a lot of weight and could stepped into the dress.. well, the zipper where she did her work around broke within 1 hour of wearing the damn thing -.- dont bother with this place, no insurance/guarantees on your expensive clothes. read more

I was in the area and dropped by early to see if my order was ready, not only was it finished extra early from the time frame she gave me. I was extremely satisfied with the work. When I went into Tiffany's to get some of my pants altered, she was on her cell phone from the time I walked in to the time I left, and that includes all the measuring. I felt it was quite rude however, I always believe in second chances :) It may not be an often occurrence. And my pants turned out okay, just one of the pairs was too short. read more
