Not very organized, the clothes are everywhere and she doesn't know where everything is. Took her a few minutes looking through piles just to find my clothes. Still allowing only cash or checks is a disgrace these days, and just tell you while dropping off your clothes. Price is alright, not cheap but not expensive. read more

Terrible tailor job. Left my items for a week like the woman asked, I returned to pick up my clothes and didn't inspect them the same day and that was a big mistake on my part I should of looked and examined everything in front of her face before leaving the shop. one item ( Versace) dress was coming out of the hem at the bottom, the repair is done terribly, it is obvious and already coming undone. The tag on the dress was and is still barely hanging on. It seems I was charged for just keeping it there for a few days. Also a shirt that had a lose strap was fixed with different color thread. Looks tacky and terrible. Makes me sad I paid for this kind of service. Maybe they should retire, or get better glasses, or better yet get more help. I'd recommend you go somewhere else should you need something sewn or tailored done right. read more

BAD TAILOR!!! I asked this place to fix what another tailor had done. I asked them to put a new zipper in and fix the band which the other tailor had undone. As with the other tailor, it was my first time trying them and I was in a hurry when picking up. I am severely appalled that I paid her for a new zipper and what I got back was not a nw zipper. To explain, the other tailor put in a new zipper but left a tail that was about ten inches In the slacks. In other words, the other tailor used a dress or skirt zipper for my slacks with a side zipper. Alice charged me $16 to cut the tail and slap some glue on the same zipper. And she didn't fix the band. I do not recommend this tailor. Maybe she's good, but I'll never know because she didn't care enough to do the right thing. read more

Located on Rosecrans next to Fashion Nails, and across the street from the Jack in the Box, Alice has been in business in this exact location for over 31 years now! I had several business suit jackets that needed the sleeves hemmed, and she did a beautiful job, quickly (2-3 days') time and reasonably ($15 each). I brought in 4 items to be altered. One turned out great, but problems with the other 3. I had two tops hemmed and they used a different color thread on the front and back, and the thickness of the hem is inconsistent (about 1/4" difference in different sections which is noticeable). Also, they are not good with slinky fabrics (I was left with a crooked seam that pulls in one garment). The shop seems very disorganized, but on a positive note they were friendly. They just don't have the skill or detail to do alterations! I don't even have the confidence to bring the items back that were done wrong. I'm taking them somewhere else and will pay again to have them done correctly. Lesson learned! read more

Small and unnoticed shop but worth going to for any alterations you might find yourself needing. The owner was nice and very helpful. She had my dress uniform ready in an hr. Also when I got my dress top back, it was squared away. Ive had my uniform dry cleaned plenty of times but have never been as impressed as I was by Alice's services. And the pricing isn't bad at all. Alice's is simply one of the best options for tailoring in the San Diego area. I had a very good quality suit tailored here (and on short notice!), receiving it back in two days with a perfect fit. Alice will take the time to have you stand on an elevated platform, pinning everything old-style. The work itself is done to a level as good as factory or better. Very kind, and quick to please, I strongly recommend this Point Loma location. The only catch is parking- Park one street to the east, in the green zone, and walk it. The other spots are used by local residents, and are seldom available. Prices are a bit higher than market standard (about $30 to $40 for a two-piece suit or uniform alteration), but she's worth it. Great tailor, and she also has some nice ladies working there as well! read more

I've been going to Alice for almost all of my alterations. She does a great job and has fair prices.. My only concern is the organization of the shop... I have never had a problem or had an article lost. But sometimes when I go to pick up items it takes her a bit to locate them. She'll be looking thru piles of clothes and sometimes picks up my clothes from different piles. I shouldn't judge because maybe that is her system and it works for her! I have OCD tendencies so I may just not understand. One time I sent my husband to go pick up my dress I had hemmed. She gave him the wrong one... Thank goodness he knows my style and came home with the right dress! But I have to say I have a 100% success rate with Alice for perfection over the past 4 years! read more

I cannot believe this place doesn't have more reviews! So I had been procrastinating getting alterations to a suit that I had bought a while back for a wedding I was going to be a groomsmen in. Time got away from me and I only had 7 days before the wedding. I tried contacting a number of tailoring shops to get a quote on a last minute rush job, I was told everything from "no its impossible", to getting price quotes in the hundreds of dollars. During my lunch break, I decided to just drive around Point Loma and walked found Alice's shop. She was so friendly when I walked in, she let me know that it was no problem to get my suit done in time and the price was also incredibly reasonable. I was measured in less than 90 seconds and she was completely honest on what she was able to modify and not modify. I was back in less than a week to pick up my suit and it looked amazing and fit perfectly! Just a note, she is a cash only shop bust luckily there are several ATMs in walking distance if you forget. read more
