The turnaround is great, but it's not cheap. So I was disappointed when I brought a pricey Jenni Kayne tank to get taken in, and when it was time to pick it up I tried it on at the shop I noticed the top edges were digging into my underarms and the straps were too short. I showed it to Ann, but she dismissed it, saying now they won't fall off my shoulder. I left with the top, and another pair of pants (also a pricey boutique item!) that I later noticed were not hemmed to the same level. The right pant leg is noticeably shorter than the left. I will try coming back to insist she fix both, hopefully this next week. read more

I usually never leave a review but was left disappointed after further inspecting my garment once I arrived home. I went in on a Saturday to quickly pick up a skirt I had taken in and hadn't fully analyzed the work done to the item until a little later. That's when I realized the back of the skirt had been burned at the seam. It was very disappointing as this skirt was new and hadn't been worn, but now has a burn mark on the back... I had a pair of linen pants hemmed here and they did a beautiful job. The length on my finished pants was exactly the same as when she did the fitting and the stitching was flawless. This location is in city Heights. It is ran by Elderly woman. I dropped off my clothing on a Tuesday and it was ready by Friday. It just needed to be cut in length, which cost me $12. I think that's a bit overpriced but she did a good job. read more

I bought a few new pairs of jeans a month or two ago, and I found Ann thanks to Yelp. I dropped off two pairs of jeans and she told me I could pick them up on Saturday. I stopped in and she had forgotten, so I had to return later in the day. Ann really felt bad, so I assume this doesn't happen that often. Willing to overlook the inconvenience as the price was very fair... $9 each, cash. I'll be back here next time I grab a pair of jeans, as it's walking distance from my house. Parking? Ann's is really close to where I live, so when I had a few things that needed tailoring, this was my first choice. The shop is nice inside, with everything a tailor's shop should have: try-on rooms, a mirror with a pedestal to stand on, and a nice lady with a very heavy accent wielding pins and chalk. I had 4 items, the total came to around $40, which I thought was a little high. I paid most of it in advance, and the rest when I picked it up. I was told I could pick up my items on a Wednesday, but when I showed up that afternoon - during business hours - the shop was closed! A bit inconvenient, but everybody needs to cut out early sometimes, right? Anyway, Ann did a great job! I'll probably keep going back, since she's so close. read more

Fast but pricey and a bad attitude if you have to come back to get your original order done correctly. I recently moved to the area and was in search for an alteration place. I chose this place because of the good yelp reviews and proximity. I came here to get some pants and dresses altered. All of my clothing just needed to be hemmed for my height. I didn't ask for anything difficult. Ann was very nice while I was there the first time. She even said she'd have them done in 2 days. When I went back to pick them up I didn't have time to try them on there. Once I finally tried them on at home, I found out they were all too long. I decided to just bring back the dresses for her to fix and wearing higher heels with my pants. When I went back to tell her my dresses were still too long she gave me so much attitude!!!! She said it was my fault for not taking the time to look in the mirror on the first day when she was measuring it. It was definitely not my fault and even if it was she shouldn't be giving that attitude to her customers. I will not be coming back ! I actually went to another store, Charlie's on Adam's, and had the pants that she hemmed and left too long hemmed again. I had a such a better experience there and they were done correctly without and attitude too! read more

My boyfriend/husband and I have taken in three suits and dozens of pants to get altered. We had 2 old suits that were cut like coke machines and Ann turned them into slim fitting, tailored suits. Anyone can do a hem, but altering suits is tricky and we were really impressed. Prices are very reasonable, and the service is great. Parking can be a little tough, but if you're lucky there is 15 or 30 min parking right out front. I went in on a Monday with 2 sets of school uniforms from my culinary school to get pants hemmed and sleeves shortened. I was told it would take a week to get done. No biggie. But the next day I go to school and sort of get reprimanded about not coming to class in uniform, so at the end of the day my chef instructor is like, "Come to class in uniform Thursday." So I drop by Ann's and ask if I can take/pick up one set of my uniforms to wear, even though she hasn't fixed either set yet. My thinking was that she could fix one set by Monday (as agreed), while in the meantime I had a set (unfinished) to wear to school. Just so I don't get in trouble again. But she said she could fix one set in time for school the next day at no extra charge (I already paid her in advance). When I picked up the one altered uniform, it fit perfectly. I didn't feel like a little kid swimming in oversized pajamas, no needing to fold anything up. I'll definitely go back for other clothing items, because Buddha knows my short arms & legs need it. read more
