The location and outside appearance of this restaurant makes it seem sketchy and uninviting. I pass by this restaurant every Sunday to and from church and it never seems to be busy, which usually is a red flag to me. HOWEVER, this place is pretty good! This is one of those places where looks can be deceiving. Inside, the restaurant is very clean and quiet. There is only one waiter/cashier, who is very attentive, quick, and friendly. My family and I have dined here twice and both times, many people opted for to-go orders/pick-ups, which is the reason why their parking lot is never full. The prices are affordable, and the portions are HUGE! The portions are good for family style dining, where everyone can share the entrees. The kid's size portions are equivalent to a regular portion elsewhere. The foods we ordered includes: Xiao long bao (not pictured) - This was pretty good! There wasn't a lot of soup inside the dumpling, but that didn't take away from the taste of it. Shu Mai - My husband and I did not enjoy this at all. Maybe it was an off day, but it tasted terrible, like something you would get from the frozen section. It didn't taste authentic or anything like what you would get from a Dim Sum restaurant. Orange Chicken - The orange sauce is different from what I am used to. It tastes more sweet and less savory, like they used a higher ratio of orange concentrate than soy sauce. If you were to judge this dish by itself, it's pretty good, but not as good as Nana's Sushi & Chinese Bistro. Sesame Chicken - Initially, this tasted very similar to the orange chicken, but of course it's not because it does not have the orange flavor. Also, pretty good. Chicken Lo Mein - This tastes like comfort food. There was something about this dish that made it very addicting for me. It wasn't bursting with crazy flavors, but it was great. Deep Fried Fish w/ Sweet & Sour Sauce - This was such a great portion and tasted great! The fish was breaded and fried to perfection. I appreciated that it was a perfect balance of sweet and sour. I really enjoyed this dish! Szechaun Spicy Chicken - The first time we ordered this, it wasn't too crispy, so it was okay. The second time we visited, my husband ordered this again and it was crispy, which made it taste so much better. I only gave the restaurant a 4 star because I feel like I've had better tasting foods elsewhere. This restaurant specializes in Szechuan-style Chinese food. The interior is small but modern and clean. Their menu design looks fantastic. There are photos of most dishes, so you know what you'll be getting. There were so many items to choose from. We tried a number of dishes including the Spicy Dan Dan noodles. The Dan Dan noodles were pretty good - the noodles had very good bounce and texture. Prices were about average, but portion sizes were quite decent. I don't know how many times I've driven by this place thinking to myself I need to try it one day, well that day finally came and instead of enjoying good Chinese food, I was met with distaste from the overly dry orange chicken and super dry fried rice...kinda hard to ruin fried rice, no? Looks can be deceiving!!! We were deceived for sure. We called and placed the order for to-go/pickup! Arrived and the food was piping hot. Steaming and fresh and well presented for Togo food, however, the fireworks end there. We ordered the green beans with minced pork, orange chicken, and sweet garlic beef with Szechuan oil...each entree comes with your choice of fried rice or white rice...so we chose two fried rice and one white rice... The orange chicken was dry, to the point of chicken jerky...while the sauce was good, it was almost not edible because of how dry the chicken was...I mean do the workers even taste test the food before sending it out of the kitchen??? C'mon!!! No one wants to eat dry orange chicken. Disgusting! Then the fried rice was super dry and flavorless... The only thing that was really flavored well and tasted delicious were the green beans with minced pork... I was super disappointed and they really need to taste their food before giving their customers their order. I removed my previous review for Tiger's since it lacked any photos and have a new review (with photos!). As stated before, Tiger's is probably one of the more authentic Asian restaurants around town. I believe it to be mainly Szechuan, with a couple other regions peppered in (pun intended). The good: Spicy Lamb with cumin, eggplant with minced pork and chili oil wontons. The spicy lamb with cumin is a must order; it is sliced lamb with just a touch of crisp to it, packed with spices, onions and flavor - probably my absolute favorite dish there. Up next is the eggplant with minced pork; generous amounts of soft eggplant, bathed in chili oil and garnished with copious amounts of chopped peppers (of the spicy kind and the bell kind) - not a ton of minced pork in it, but enough to add some flavor, although, the dish really stands on its own, even without the pork. Chili Oil Wontons; for $8 you get a 10 piece dish of velvety soft wontons with a nice pork filling, swimming in chili oil and peppers. Not super spicy, just very tasty. A perfect appetizer and reasonable price. The okay: Spicy DanDan noodles. These weren't bad, but weren't great. My son ordered them. They were a bit over cooked and were sticking together a lot which made them a bit cumbersome to eat, they were also super long; it would help if they were cut and not cooked quite so long. The flavor was pretty good; sort of a sweet/savory. I don't think I would order them again. Fried rice is pretty basic...maybe they have a more jazzed up version that's available that I don't know about, but as good as most everything else is, I expected more from the fried rice. The weird: atmosphere is kind of strange and the restaurant kind of feels a bit unfinished. They seem to do a lot of take out service and I can see why; it isn't a particularly fun or exciting place to eat in. With all of that being said, almost everything I've had here has been really good, save for a few things. If you go and order the chili wontons, the spicy lamb with cumin and the eggplant with minced peppers, you won't be disappointed. This place is just like other Tiger Noodle Houses- Same menu, same good food, and I would say food is fresher. Our food came out piping hot. The only difference was the pork soup dumplings had very little soup, but the flavor was there. My young daughter didn't care, she ate them like a champ and she is a picky eater. This is really unfortunate because this is the most convenient location for me to visit so I was very much looking forward to eating here so it could be my go to place. I love the Dong Bo pork made by the other sister locations. Usually the pork dish is shiny and juicy, with delicious sweet sauce covering the meat. Unfortunately this location's dish didn't have the same flavor, the pork fat was not very well cooked and the pork meat had been over cooked to the point I couldn't even cut the meat with a knife easily. The meat was cooked to the point where it was super dry and slightly burnt underneath. When asked how my meal was, I did mention this but was told this was how the dish is meant to be cooked. Yum! Probably the best Szechuan/taiwanese food that you can get on this side of town in the north. We had the sweet and sour eggplant which is delicious with a great texture. The mapo tofu had a nice spice, not the hot kind but the tingly Szechuan kind, probably could use a tad more salt but good. The soup dumplings had a great flavor but barely any soup but that's normal for take out because the longer the dumplings sit the more soup the skins absorb. We will definitely get soup dumplings if we start eating in. Everything above was solid in taste. Maybe not as paunchy in flavors as some other places in China town but still very solid and done well. The one comically bad thing was the wonton soup. The chicken was extremely salty, enough to where I was unable to eat it. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. This fusion place was really good and one of the few restaurants open right after the freeze for dine-in service. The menu consists of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Szechuan cuisines. What I liked were the modern interior, menu options, large portions and good customer service. They are part of a small popular chain in Houston with two other locations in Katy and West U. This location has a slightly different name than the others, maybe just to cater to the surrounding area. They were limited on beverages and were only serving canned drinks, not including beer on my visit, due to the freeze. Although I wanted to try the ghost pepper noodle soups, since you don't see that on the menu at many places, I just stuck with other items including the eggplant, spicy poached sliced fish, and spicy and numbing beef pot. Used to be a chinese buffet followed by Nanyue Bistro at this location, but both did not last long and closed down Tiger has great success in Houston and I had been to their Katy and Rice Village locations. Both have consistent quality and excellent service. This Cypress location just opened up, at the worst time during this pandemic, so only pickup/delivery is available. The interior dining hall spacing has shrunk compared to previous establishments but it makes sense. It will become counter-style service when opened up dining in. I ordered online 3 dishes to-go and all of them were ready within 15 minutes. (15% off during this time when ordering online) The flavors were consistent with other locations. Hopefully the customer base can grow despite the unsuccessful efforts from last two establishments. It will be tough as more Szechuan restaurants are popping up more around this area. read more

I ordered a fish dish with peppers and it was very tasty. I just started a quasi keto diet and this is the perfect dish, because it is not bland and is a bit spicy. The fish was nicely seasoned and it did not taste "fishy". My friend ordered the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. He liked it. They have a ghost pepper flavor with 3 levels of spiciness. He ordered level 1, but is planning on going for level 3 next time. Overall, the flavor was on point. We also ordered the xiao long bao. It was actually one of the better dishes that we have had from any restaurant. The dumplings were not too thick and they contained a good amount of soup in each one. Eating this reminded me of Taiwan. I'm surprised how dead they were considering how well this chain does at their other 2 Houston locations. It was a Chinese kinda day according to the boy and as we were outside our usual haunts, we decided to give this place a shot. We arrived to an empty dining room and a staff eager to serve. We started with appetizers and no expectations. First out were the shrimp rolls and these mirror the more traditional version with nothing but a single perfectly cooked shrimp wrapped in a light crisp wonton. They were the favorite at the table. Next up were the cheese Rangoon. Our waiter was quick to explain there was no crab in the dish and I must say the dish didn't suffer at all. Crunchy, creamy goodness. We also selected pan fried dumplings but they arrived with our mains and got merely a taste. I will say that the dip was not the transparent, liquid soy ginger we typically see but was thicker and opaque but sported the same flavors. The lad and I both opted dor orange flavored proteins, he chicken and me beef. My beef was thinly sliced and battered and his chicken were chunks and battered. The orange sauce was a little sweeter than usual to both of our palates and so we ate perhaps a 1/4 of the offerings. Of course the appetizers and the sheer size of the entree contributed as well. The last entree was the vegetable forward green beans with minced pork. Again the large size of the entree along with the earlier appetizers meant doggy bags all around that will be enjoyed later. Customer service was great ONLY... came here for lunch to see if the previous restaurant (Nanyue Bistro) was back open and realized that it was permanently closed and replaced with by Tiger Chinese Cuisine, so I decided to give them a try and I was not pleased at all. Again the customer service was great, but the food was not tasty AT ALL, the food presentation was nice, but the moment I took a bite, it was very bland. I have to admit, the presentation had me fooled, but I would NOT recommend this place to a friend.
