I don't know what was it about this day, but I felt a little adventurous. instead of getting my usual pho bac diet or pho ga, I said to myself I'm gonna walk on the wild side. Having recently visited Thailand, I wanted to taste their version of boat noodles, so I got that, and crispy pork, to stir things up. You know, sometimes I knock it out the park, and sometimes I make a foul play. While these noodles had a lot of flavor, I don't think I'll be ordering this again. The brother was rich, and bold. I loved that. It had a great spice level. I like the chewiness of the noodles, cooked just right. But this was nothing like what I had in Thailand. This reminded me of a Vietnamese soup (the name is escaping me) that doesn't get served often because of it's pungent fermented fish flavor. The bood cakes and tripe aren't new to me, I love Bun bo hue, but this wasn't it. The crispy pork was made really well, I just wish they added salt. It was saved by the amazing sauce it came with. Now that I think about it, it could be that they withheld salting the pork for the purpose you're supposed to get that from the sauce? I dunno, I just need them to sell the sauce in a bottle so I can take it home with me. It reminds me of the viral "crack sauce" I see on tik tok. I want to come back and try more dishes. They have some things you wouldn't necessarily find in other places. The prices are a little higher than what you would normally pay which is crazy since there are literally 3 other pho places right around the corner competing for the same business. Me and my daughter come here once a week. Quick service and everything is always delicious. We always get a large 41 to share. The pork is so crispy and flavorful, the dry noodles are a nice alternative when you don't feel like pho, and the broth is tasty. We love this place so much. read more

An old favorite. Sticker shock! From the last time we were here, it was $10.00 cheaper, (for the same meal)! I realize prices are going up everywhere, not sure how I feel about this though. The service is still great and the servers always have a smile for you. On paydays, my son and I would pick one person we would gift a meal to. At the time of tabbing out I would tell the cashier which one we randomly chose. I hope they pay it forward, if possible. If not, we hope it at least brings a smile to someone's face and makes their day a little brighter. I used to dine at this restaurant when it was called Pho Danh. Since it changed its name to Pho Tan, I hadn't visited until yesterday. When I arrived after 2 PM, the restaurant was not crowded. It was clean, the service was prompt, and the staff was friendly. I ordered Bun Bo Hue, which was delicious, with a generous amount of meat and vegetables. The broth was savory and aromatic. Solid pho for solid price. Came here with my dad for breakfast. Ordered the number 12 large. Service was super quick and the lady who served us was really nice. I also ordered a cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) to go. What I like about this place is that they give you the coffee to brew and mix yourself. You can make it however strong you want. The pho here is super solid. They gave a lot more than I expected for a "large" which was a medium since they have an XL bowl. I was a lot more full than I thought I'd be. This used to be where the Pho Danh used to be next to the Hong Kong Supermarket. I'm usually a person who doesn't order the pho bowl but another noodle soup, however, this time I wanted to go back to my roots. Portion was good! Broth was delicious! Service was good! Che Thai was delicious! I'm actually craving for it now while I'm typing this!! Overall, it's been a while I've had a good bowl of pho. I usually don't put the hoisin and sriracha in the broth until I've tasted the broth. I know it's good pho when I don't even have to put it in at all and this is one place I didn't! Went here yesterday for lunch after picking up a few things at the Hong Kong Market. Walking in through the front door I knew it was going to be good. The place was spotless, quiet music playing in the background, clean tables, and staff attentive as soon as you walked in. I ordered the spring rolls and were stuffed with pork and shrimp. They came with a good peanut sauce. As for the main dish, the #34. A noodle salad loaded with veggies and pork. So very good and large portions of pork. I don't get why this is a four-star facility. Anyone trying the food knows this isnt worth it. Husband wanted Pho so we gave it a try. COMMON, HOW COULD VIET MESS UP PHO? Noodles was clumpy and broken. Meat wasnt tender. Broth taste like Too much water, very little flavor. Didnt even had the pho smell. Then to BUn Thit Nuong. Something was off. The meat was dry. Tasted old. I cant grasp what is missing but it wasnt good. I usually finish my meal even if it was mediocre but this was below standard. I gave up after a couple slurp. The Thai Boat noodles are off the chain! I would proclaim that Pho Danh has best Thai Boat noodles soup in city. But wait a minute, this is Pho place, isn't it? Look, some would argue that Mambo Seafood has the best fried rice in town so why can't Pho Dahn No3 have the best Thai noodles. T hat should settle the topic then. What else is good? Awe I loved my to go experience here . The staff was very sweet and the older woman behind the counter is probably just the most adorable thing you could ever meet . I ordered the # 17 with extra tendon for $2 because I'm a greedy little bird and love love tendon in my pho . The broth was pretty tasty nothing super interesting as far as flavors go but it was a tasty classic beef broth which I enjoyed very much . The meat servings are very generous & I was satisfied for how much extra tendon I got for $2. Daughter and Father occasional brunch spot! My daddy and I have been coming here for years! This place is nice and spacious not to mentioned perfect for that intimate talk as ironic as it may be in a large place. Their Pho has to be one of the best in the North of Houston and my ultimate fave is #24 Pho with chicken, pork and camaron (shrimp) like our kind server said. The flavors are always consistent and a significant bowl size whether you get the small or large bowl. Not only their amazing pho makes this spot the place for the obvious reason but I admire that eventhough it is a Vietnamese establishment the server went out of her way to speak Spanish to us since my dad speaks primarily Spanish and she did not have to do that but I think that experience made me love this place even more! p.s. I want to give this place zero star after my experience with the manager. I have been going to this place for 3yrs and only got the seafood Pho. And the ladies who work there are so cute, someone's precious mama is taking my order. They do now offer egg rolls and spring rolls and not just various soup varieties. I don't live on this side of town any more so it's rare that I get to come. I came in the last Saturday of 2017 to have some dinner with my friends. We arrived about 7/730pm and were seated promptly. The Pho here is good, tastes good and good portion for a large. I've only tried the Pho and it's better than the other Pho places in the area. The only negative comment I have about this place is about the Thai lady at the cashier. Every time I go to pay she always give me the Bitchy Resting Face, but I'm fine with that. I started with shrimp and pork spring rolls. They were okay. I was a little disappointed in the peanut sauce. It had a little too much chili garlic sauce and didn't have the creamy peanut taste I love. I ordered a small chicken pho. It was okay. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I'm use to having at other noodle houses and the noodles were a bit overcooked. It did have plenty of slices of white chicken meat.
