I will be quite honest with you that I really have no experience with Malaysian food. In point of…read morefact, I've bypass this restaurant numerous times simply assuming that it was Chinese. It is anything but in point of fact, it is in my estimation, a unique culinary experience. I don't write from the perspective of comparing this food to other Malaysian dishes that I've had in point of fact to the best of my recollection I don't think that I've ever had Malaysian cuisine. But if this restaurant is an example, I have missed a great deal. The food is very unique the servings are very gracious charitable. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the distinction of this particular cuisine and given the portions and quality of food that is served. The service is quite simple and the restaurant is actually quite small. However, I must tell you from A service perspective. It's truthfully amazing because the takeout business is extremely active. Not to mention the fact that the chef walks out and speaks to people will share anything that you want to know about Malaysian food and obviously from the quality of the food that I ate not only is his explanation thorough but my guess is his skills are incredible. As I said it is very small so it's difficult to Alpine about the ambience other than it was quite clean and given the number of whom I suspect were Malaysian people it's obviously quite popular within that community. So I take that to be a sign that this food is quite native in nature. I had a pork meal, which is only on Sundays. I spoke to the chef about it, and he explained that the preparation started one day in advance of actually serving the meal, so I understand why it is only served once a week. Although I must tell you because I lack familiarity it seemed to me that I would be hours and hours trying to replicate any of the dishes. All I can tell you is this if you are in an exploratory mood for a cuisine and have had or have not had Malaysian before I suspect this is a place to go. Quite informal, extremely fair pricing very generous portions great service very pleasant people and frankly it's a a family affair of what you will see many when you go. Quite a lovely experience.

We ordered couple dishes family style: Stir fried cabbage - 5/5, surprisingly my favorite dish of the meal. The cabbage was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch, the subtle numbing pepper added a refreshing and addictive kick. Simple but perfect. Salt and pepper crispy seafood - 4.5/5, the runner up for me. The seafood was fresh, the batter was light and crispy, and the salt and pepper seasoning was spot on. Peking duck two way - 4/5, the duck is roasted well, however, the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Instead of the usual low effort duck soup, the duck came with salt and pepper duck carcass which was crispy and delicious. Egg tofu with dried scallop sauce - 2.5/5, this was pretty bland compared to other dishes and didn't stand out. The service was a bit slow, probably because we had a late lunch, close to staffs' midday break. That said, the staffs were friendly, and we really enjoyed the food.

Atmosphere: Modern Food Overall: Scant on major components…read moreof the dishes Price: $$ Customer Service Overall: Ok Recommend: No The restaurant is clean and has a nice, modern Hong Kong-style atmosphere. The dining room feels bright and spacious, with traditional Chinese design elements, wooden tables and chairs, decorative partitions, and an open kitchen where you can see some of the activity going on behind the scenes. It has the lively feel of a busy Hong Kong food hall while still looking polished and well maintained. As far as the food goes, I thought the prices were on the high side for what we received. We ordered the spicy green beans with ground beef, but unfortunately there was very little to almost no ground beef in the dish. We brought this to our waiter's attention, and he had to speak with the owner about it. Eventually, they brought us a small cup of cooked ground beef to add to the green beans. I appreciated that they tried to correct the issue, but simply adding separately cooked beef wasn't the same. The beef didn't have the seasoning and flavor it would have had if it had originally been cooked together with the green beans. We were also already more than halfway through our meal by the time the replacement beef arrived. The sizzling black pepper beef was probably the better dish. There was a descent amount of beef, and the black pepper sauce was tasty. However, the pieces of beef were very chunky, and we weren't provided with scissors or anything to cut them into smaller, more manageable pieces. We also ordered the pepper fried shrimp with crispy rice. There was very little shrimp in the dish, especially considering the price. Taste-wise, it was fine, but nothing particularly memorable or something I would go out of my way to order again. Service was mixed. Our waiter seemed a little slow when it came to taking our order and especially when resolving the issue with the missing ground beef. On the positive side, several of the other waiters were very attentive. They stopped by our table to ask how we were doing and whether we needed more water, which we appreciated. Overall, Hong Kong Food Street has a clean and attractive atmosphere, but the food felt overpriced for the portions and execution we received. The sizzling black pepper beef had good flavor, but the other dishes were underwhelming, especially considering the prices. With better portion consistency and faster handling of customer concerns, the experience could have been much better. For the foregoing reasons, I would not return to this restaurant.

hunan kitchen has been a staple for yearssss, truly my fav restaurant ever and hands down the best…read morechinese food i've had!! the interior has plenty of seating, making it great for both family dinners and group gatherings. the owners are a couple: a super friendly woman and the diligent chef. the service is always attentive and fast and the food comes out SOOO quickly. portions are also huuuge at consistently high quality. what really sets this place apart is the depth of flavor, the spice levels are just right. you taste the chili, sichuan peppercorn, and mala fragrances, along with that unmistakable wok hei!! nothing feels muted or overly aggressive. - one must-order is the hunan bbq fish (君山烤鱼). at just over $30, ITS SUCH A STEALLL for what you get: an entire seabass served in a massive chafing dish, surrounded by a medley of vegetables like cauliflower, potatoes, lotus root, and peppers. the fish is tender and flaky, not overly salty or spicy, but infused with a beautifully fragrant mala heat. it's perfect for celebratory meals or sharing with a big group - the sautéed preserved pork with dried smoked bamboo shoots (烟笋炒腊肉) is an absolute classic. the cured pork belly has an intense smokiness that hits you immediately, with alternating bites of rich fatty pieces and deeply savory lean cuts. the bamboo shoots add texture and soak up all that flavor - their poached sliced beef in hot chili oil (水煮牛肉) is another standout. the beef is incredibly succulent, swimming in a chili oil broth that's bursting with aroma without being overwhelming. this dish can often be too oily or salty elsewhere, but hunan kitchen nails the balance! - the sauteed diced chicken with chili pepper (辣子鸡) is my all time FAVVV and something i've loved since growing up. the chicken is perfectly crispy and crunchy while staying juicy on the inside. paired with dried chilies and peppercorns, the numbing spice slowly creeps in and builds as you eat. its ADDICTING in the most dangerous way, and i genuinely cannot stop eating it every time - the stir-fried diced chicken with green peppercorn (青花椒鸡丁) offers a slightly different flavor profile that i really love. the chicken is tender, and the green peppercorn brings a refreshing, citrusy, almost electric numbing sensation that feels lighter and brighter compared to red chilies. it's bold and a really fun contrast to some of the other dishes - for something non spicy, the seafood and japanese tofu (海鲜玉子豆腐) is PURE COMFORT FOOD for me. the tofu is lightly crisped on the outside but sooo silky inside, topped with soft fish fillets, huge shrimp, and a rich, glossy sauce packed with umami. i ascend every single time i eat it LOL overall, hunan kitchen is insanely worth it for the price. the portions are massive, the quality is consistently high, and for how authentic and flavorful the food is, it's honestly such a steal. you get way more than what you pay for, especially when ordering family style, and they even offer lunch specials, which makes it easy to come back often for a quick meal. it's such an underrated spot in katy and i wish more people talked about it :') this place deserves way more love!!

I went to tiger noodle house a few days ago but i was vividly shocked how one of the waitress's behavior made my entire experience down right unpleasant. When I ordered I was served by a waitress, vien, that visibly appears to be on several different drugs especially when not only I but my friends can smell it on her while she is working! This is ridiculous and her showing up to work visibly on drugs, shows how little the owner of the restaurant cares for his staff. Disgusting. As for her "behavior" its down right vial, she would jab jokes at other employee's and down right bully everyone and get away with it with her sorry expression. I've been here more than a dozen times and the quality of service has diminished severely. I don't think anyone should enter this establishment when one of the waitress's not only reeks of weed and what else she may be on but also bullies the staff. Down right shameful display that reflects on the boss's lack of ability as a leader and owner. Besides from everything else, the other staff members are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the food they're serving. I just cant get around the fact that one of the employee's is dragging the rest of them down. read more

Tiger Noodle House in Katy, TX, has a decent atmosphere and food, but overall, it left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant has a modern, casual vibe with bright lighting, simple décor, and clean seating arrangements. It's a comfortable spot for a quick meal, but the ambiance doesn't stand out--it feels more functional than inviting. The service was fine, but nothing extraordinary; our server was efficient, but there wasn't much engagement or warmth during our visit. As for the food, it was decent but not remarkable. The portions were generous, which is a plus, but the flavors didn't quite hit the mark for me. I ordered the classic Dan Dan noodles and the Kung Pao chicken. The noodles had a good texture, but the sauce lacked depth and was a bit under-seasoned. The Kung Pao chicken was decent with a mild kick, but it didn't have that signature bold flavor I was hoping for--it felt a little watered down. All in all, Tiger Noodle House is fine for a casual meal if you're in the area, but if you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, there are other places that offer more flavorful options. It's good, but not great. read more
