I've been wanting to try this place ever since I've moved to Katy, and it did not disappoint! However, I must say it's located in a strip mall where it's behind another building so you can easily miss it! The restaurant itself wasn't fancy or anything but lots of seatings. They sat us in this huge booth meant for 4-6 ppl and it was just 2 of us. Perfect, since I tend to over order anyway! haha +spicy poached fish filet: it was so flavorful and packed with a punch! It wasn't overly spicy like to where I couldn't handle the heat but it did make my nose glistened a little bit. It was probably one of my favorite dish that we had ordered. Try it with a bowl of white rice. Helps tame the heat. lol +green beans w/ minced pork: it was nice and crisp but I wouldn't say it took my breath away. +XiaoLongBao (pork): omg these were so cute and petite! The wrapper had a nice chew to it and it wasn't overly doughy. I wish there were more broth in it but nonetheless it was still pretty tasty. +spicy wontons: I liked these a lot! It has a good amount of spiced to it. And the meat itself in the wontons were nicely flavored. I thought it would be pretty bland but not at all, more so savory. Ooh and the server gave us this pickled mushrooms on the house. Looks like black fungus but my friend loved it. Service was excellent, waters and napkins slept flowing and food came out rather quick. I am absolutely amazed by the customer service and the quality of the food served here at Tiger Noodle House. My husband ordered chicken friend rice, the waiter brought out a hot pipping plate of noodles with chicken. We politely informed the waiter this was the wrong order and he sincerely apologized, went to the kitchen to let the cook know of the error. The manager also came by our table to apologize and told us to keep the noodle dish as a complementary meal. That dish was GREAT! Our chicken fried rice came out also pipping hot 10 min later. You can taste all the fresh ingredients in both dishes! I'm impressed! read more

After reading a lot of the reviews, I was hyped to try this place out. Sadly, I was disappointed. I didn't find anything great about the place. Service was crappy. My party was seated first, yet the PARTIES that was seated after me got serviced first. The waiters pretty much skipped my table and went on and took care of other customers while we sat and waited. I had to wave for someone to come take my order, and in his defense "I'm sorry we had a table mix up". Ummm whose problem is that? Not my fault you guys cant seem to know which tables you are managing and if you see a table sitting there for a while wouldn't you have common sense to ask if they've been helped? No excuses there because I saw several waiters just walk past us without even asking if we needed help. Exactly, poor customer service on their end. One star deduction there. We ordered the tiger beef roll, spicy wanton, beef noodle soup, dan dan noodles, and the chicken soup dumplings. I didn't find anything that was absolutely delicious or worth re-ordering. The soup dumpling was poorly made. A few of them stuck to the paper on the tray or fell apart before i could even eat them. Not only that but I had to ask for a spoon! Ummm isn't it common sense that i should get a spoon to put my dumpling in it? Isn't that how you are supposed to eat it?! Dumplings were small and bland. One star deduction there. The other stuff was just eh ok. I mean I felt like it was either really greasy or just the spiciness just over powered everything. They gave us an order of egg rolls on the house, but I felt like they should have just kept it. I mean if you going to give me something on the house give me something good not some stupid egg rolls (it should be called a greasy roll instead cuz it was just filled with oil and nothing special about it). Yes I know egg rolls are fried and grease is expected but this was just a ridiculous amount of oil. Apparently they give each table "something on the house" but if you going to do that give something good. I didn't find anything special about this place, and probably won't be returning. Came here from out of town in search of some Szechuan magic. The Szechuan chicken was some of the best I've ever had. The service was amazing. They gave us egg rolls on the house which were very tasty! I couldn't try the Dan dan noodles. I found out after they are arrived they contain peanuts. My fault for not telling them. Fried green beans were excellent too. Dining room felt comfortable and down to earth, just a casual neighborhood type of joint. Service was A+++. I have mixed feelings about this venue... +Service (2/5): our waiter was unbelievably nice and kind. He was so helpful and ready to serve us. He was there when we took our order and paid for the bill, that's it. It saddens me because he would be so kind and told us he'll put the chili paste on the side, yet it didn't arrive when the food came. So I would ask another person because apparently the two people who speaks English happen to be the only actual waiters. The other people who were working had little English and did not properly help us. We didn't have utensils and when we asked they quickly walked off to help but didn't listen to us fully. It was impossible to flag down anyone. -Spicy wonton (3/5): TINY little wontons. It didn't taste horrible but they were tiny. I wouldn't mind paying more for a bigger bite. -Xiao long bao (3.5/5): again, they were tiny it tasted really good but my only complaint was that the liner they were on top of stuck to the wrappers, which then lead to popping of the actual soup dumplings before it can be put in my mouth. -general Tso chicken (4/5): it was on the house and it was good! I don't typically order this dish but it was very kind of them. -Full house spicy pot (5/5): this is a great dish to share. Who says you need to be in Chinatown to find a good Asian restaurant?! Tiger Noodle House still has their grand opening sign up but they run it like pros. Kudos to the quick good service! Spicy wonton- 5/5 Our server brought this out to us on the house and I'm so glad we got to try this! The MINI wontons held its shape when picked up and doesn't fall loose. Could've been a little spicier Spicy DanDan noodle- 5/5 I've never had a dish like this before and it's so uniquely satisfying. The noodles had the perfect thickness where you can taste the noodle itself along with the minced meat it came with. Soo good!! Keep in mind that this is dry noodle style and not soupy. Pork Xiao long bao- 4/5 I actually came here for this! The last time I had a xiao long bao was at Joe's in NYC. This is smaller in size and needs a little more broth but the meat was more flavorful. I'd still come back for this though. Beef noodle soup- I only tried a tiny spoon full of the broth so I can't really say much about this. The soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) are not homemade, but they pack flavor and are only $6. Small order of 10. All of the appetizers are delicious, spicy wonton, egg rolls, steamed dumplings, shumai, crispy shrimp rolls, Wood was mushrooms, all amazing! AND CHEAP! The Taiwanese beef noodle soup is a different flavor you've never experienced. Choose spicy, you won't regret it. The soup lasted me 3 days. The customer service is so quick and outstanding! I was not under the impression that this is a Szechuan restaurant based on the restaurant name and was decently surprised! I highly recommend the spicy beef noodle soup. The soup packs a punch, the meat is tender, and it's just a super flavorful dish. The dan dan noodles are not the typical ones served at most restaurants. It's made with a peanut butter base instead of a super spicy chili oil. This was a throw back for me cause my grandparents use to eat this for breakfast all the time. It's probably weird for some people who aren't use to peanut butter base noodles. The service here is phenomenal. The waiter was super nice and checked in with us to make sure all of our food was good. The Szechuan chicken was way too spicy and he took care of that for us. They also give a complimentary dish, and we got sausages. The sausages were super delicious! Flavorful, not too greasy, and crispy. The milk tea here is surprisingly good as well! I wrote a review a day prior to my return to this restaurant, and the owner (Oscar remembered me). I was pleasantly surprised when he greet me and gave us appetizers on the house. He is really nice and really young and really cares for his customers. I witnessed a family nearby not know what to order and asked for recommendations. He not only give them good recommendations but also brought out some food on the house to let them try another option he had suggested to them that they didn't pick. I came back to try their beef dry noodle. It is now my favorite dish here!! There is a more concentrated beef flavor in this dish compared to the soup dish. The owner explained to me how he couldn't put as much spices in the dry noodles or it would be too spicy and I agree. I highly recommend this dish to try Update: Xiao Long Bao is a lot better now! Honestly, I went to Tiger Noodle House when they first opened, but did not try many of their items. I went back recently with a group of friends and tried a variety of items. Tiger, the owner, mentioned to us that their menu consist of food from a few regions of China. Their customer service here is great, and I love the spicy and tasty food. Some notable favorites of mine were the soup dumplings, stir fried green beans, spicy wontons, and mapo tofu. Please just note if your tummy isn't used to spicy foods cooked with oils you may want to drink some hot tea after to help! read more

We had the spicy dan dan noodles, Taiwanese noodle soup with ghost pepper, chili oil wontons, xiao long bao, Mongolian beef, the seafood spicy pot, and the spicy poached fish. Everything was so good! First, I was surprised by the options of teas that they have here! They had mango milk tea, honeydew milk tea, regular milk tea, passionfruit tea, regular green tea and so much more! The soup dumplings were definitely my favorite from here! The soup inside was flavorful, the skin was not too thick. I also really liked the spicy wontons. I don't eat spicy often.... or at all, but there's something about wontons in spicy chili oil that is just too good to resist! I'll eat it with a big glass of water any day! Everything about this place is awesome. Everything we ordered was yummy, and the service is top notch. On my first visit, we came with a group of 9 people about 30 minutes before closing. We honestly didn't know they were closing until we got there. I felt terrible about it, but the entire staff was so incredibly friendly and welcoming. They sat us and didn't even rush us. We ordered: - xiao long bao (chicken and pork), was actually really really good--probably the best I've had in Houston - tiger beef wrap, delicious!!! - spicy wonton, enjoyed it, not too spicy - beef noodle soup, so flavorful but be warned that the spicy version is made with ghost chili oil and even level 1 is like death - spicy poached fish, yummy mala spice with large filets My SO had ordered the spicy beef noodle, and it was extremely spicy. He was struggling. The waiter saw this, and he brought out some extra non-spicy soup to help cut the spice. He also brought out a little glass of milk tea! Seriously, the service was over the top. They filled our waters regularly and cleared plates quickly, and he even split the checks for us. Best service ever. The other times I've been here, service is just as great. What a gem in Katy! We visited this restaurant last weekend after hearing numerous great reviews from other folks on a local "foodies" board on Facebook. Because I happened to mention on that discussion board that we would be coming on our 29th wedding anniversary, the owner of this restaurant (who we will call Tiger) told me he would surprise me...boy, did he ever! First of all the food was outstanding. We tried the Pork soup dumplings, the beef roll, crispy shrimp rolls, beef with cumin, sesame chicken (which was brought to us for free), spicy dan dan noodles and the Taiwanese sausage fried rice. Everything - and I do mean everything - was delicious. Flavors were awesome, food was cooked perfectly, it was all served quickly and piping hot. We loved it all. And the price was incredibly reasonable, especially considering that it fed us twice. I thought that the free sesame chicken was my "surprise" from Tiger, but it wasn't. A few minutes after we ordered, he approached our table carrying a box from a nearby bakery. Contained within: a lovely cake with fruit and a chocolate plate that said, "Happy 29th Anniversary." Can you believe how incredibly thoughtful this was?? And for strangers whom he had never met before? I have never - not even in some of the best restaurants in town - had that kind of customer service before. The other servers were also charming and friendly, but Tiger now has a special place in my heart. When we left, he came back to say goodbye to us and we received well-wishes, handshakes and hugs. Folks, you just don't see this sort of thing anymore. Maybe once upon a time in small towns, but not in Houston in 2017. I simply cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We decided to stop here for lunch on our way to Houston. I saw the reviews and was actually curious if the food was as authentically chinese as they sounded. We ordered the Xiaolong baos, mapo tofu, and the secret beef noodles. For the xiaolong baos, they were actually quite full with soup, which was awesome. As other reviews mention, the skin is thin though, so be careful picking them up or they'll tear! The Mapo tofu was really good, the perfect amount of spice for me. Originally, we planned on ordering the Hot beef noodles at level 1, but our waiter advised against it, saying that it would be too spicy for us, and recommended the secret beef noodles instead. We hesitated, but ended up getting the secret beef noodles. The broth and noodles were really good, and the meat was tender. For me, the only slight criticism was that the meat was a little bland for me. I also still wanted something more spicy than the broth I had, so maybe next time we're in town we'll try getting the hot beef noodle soup instead. The service here was great! Not only did the food come out super quickly, our waiter was constantly stopping by and checking to make sure we had everything we needed. Coming from socal I get spoiled by all the exceptional chinese food we get, but Tiger Noodle House is just fine for being out here in Katy. Meals are fairly priced and you get good portions - its a good value especially if you come with a party that's willing to share entrees. A meal shouldn't cost you more than $15/person. We had the following: steamed dumplings (xioa long bao aka: XLB), spicy wantons, beef wrap/roll, and garlic veggies. The XLB were filled with pork and must be carefully eaten to prevent all the juices from pouring out. The spicy wantons are not very spicy but do have some flavor. Be sure to ask for lots of ginger and add it to your dumpling dipping sauce of soy sauce/vinegar. Beef wrap/roll dish is a dish most people can get behind - its simply beef and cilantro wrapped up and pan fried. And the garlic veggies dish was a huge serving of whole garlic cloves and chinese broccoli. Not terrible and not mind blowing either way, but will satisfy a craving for chinese food. I am not a huge fan of Szechuan cuisine as it can be a little too spicy for my liking. However, this place has changed my mindset. We ordered 2 dry noodles: spicy dan dan noodles and dry beef noodle. Both was so good in its own way. The spicy dan dan noodles had a spicy peanut sauce with grounded pork. I was afraid it would be too spicy for me like other places I've tried it at, but it was actually pleasantly tolerable. The dry beef noodles was also great as well. The beef was very tender and complemented the dish well. I would like to try the soup one day. When asking recommendations from our very nice server, she was telling us about the crazy spicy levels that this place has to offer. In her own words, "Very crazy". My friends decided to take on that challenge and get a noodle soup with 2 spice levels. One really enjoyed it and the other would get it again with a lower spice level. Lastly, we had the xiao long bao, which is soup dumplings. I thought it would come out as appetizers, but it came out a little towards the end of our meal as it took longer to prepare. Don't make the mistake like me where I just stabbed the dumpling without any second thought. No one told me it had soup in it... Instead, you're supposed to pick it up from the sides. The shredded pork in garlic sauce is super tasty w right amount of spice. The xiao long bao is also very tasty but the skin is a bit thick. The price is very good though. U get 10 xiao long pao for $6.95 which I think is very good price. We ordered the fried fish w sauce on the side. We loved the crispness of the fish. We did not like the sauce w it.
