Our meal was okay. We ordered eggdrop soup, wonton soup, chicken lettuce wraps and chicken with cashews. First, the delivery was almost 1 hour! Chinese delivery never takes that long. Second, the wonton soup showed up as hot and sour soup. The guy who took our order over the phone repeated the order saying "hot and sour soup". Even though I corrected him, it was still wrong. I'm not a fan of hot and sour soup, so that was disappointing to receive the wrong item. Third, they use a ton of onions in their dishes. That usually indicates filler and you get less meat. I'm not a fan of onions, so that was another disappointment. The eggdrop soup was good and the eggrolls were decent. First and last time we will order from here. What a shame. read more

We decided to try this place because of the good reviews. It was OK, but nothing spectacular. When did Chinese food go from bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and water chestnuts to tons of celery and bell pepper? That seems to be the new thing at every Chines restaurant we try lately. Worst treatment I've ever had from someone making money off of me. It was a hard time getting her to understand two dishes on the phone order. Child's plate has 2 choices of items but she kept thinking I wanted 2 child's plates... No maam One child's plate and the 2 items are shrimp and rice. Then I asked how long and she hung up on me. I went to go pick up the food and she immediately scowled at me. I told her my daughter ordered from them and she didn't care, still really rude. She never rang up the bill on the cash register or give me a bill. She just said a total amount. Then she tells me she's charging a fee for using my card. (that's against the law) So I didn't have enough cash and took the charge fee hit because I was hungry. She's not ringing up the food on a register, wanting cash and collecting tax she'll never declare but keep that too along with the credit card fee. The food: A child's plate with 2 fried shrimp small and dripping with oil (dripping). The egg fried rice was fair. MooGooGiPan was pretty much tasteless but had lots of chicken (which was the only good thing) but not enough vegetables. The whole thing was floating in a lot of liquid. I will not be back. You wouldn't be able to find this place unless you follow Google Maps or you've been here before it's located in a shopping center right across for a gun shop. A small restaurant, but looks clean. When I entered it there was no one there I ordered Mongolian beef which is around $12 and chicken with broccoli which I believe is around $10 not bad IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD THEY DO CHARGE A FEE! BRING CASH! It didn't take long for the food to come out the lady at the cashier was very nice however the taste of the food was not it!! Tasted very greasy/oily, absolutely no flavor. Our family loves Shanghai!!! It's an intimate restaurant run by a husband and wife team. Their food is delicious - especially the pan fried dumplings and orange chicken. I love that they offer healthy options - the generous portion of steamed vegetables are fresh and delicious. I love the atmosphere. You can actually carry on a conversation and hear each other talk. Very disappointed with this place and owners. We always place large orders for over $35 and ordered SL9 Avocado Chicken & Shrimp and was given SL8 Mongolian Triple Delight. When calling back to advise the order was wrong, the manager kept arguing saying I placed the wrong order and they did not make a mistake. This is my absolute favorite Chinese food place. I go here probably once a week or at least three times a month. It is family owned and NEVER disappoints. Obviously not the best Chinese food I've ever had, but really good nonetheless, especially for takeout. I called to order the Pork w Garlic Sauce dinner combo and he said it would be about 10-15 minutes. My order was ready when I got there and it smelled so good I almost ate it in the car. You get a TON of food for what you pay. I only finished half my rice and less than half of the pork, and have a tasty dish for lunch tomorrow. We ordered online (from the "Chinese Menu" website) for a work order. I'll be honest here - I wasn't sure if it was going to work or not because --- well, you never know about third party ordering websites. Let me put your fears to rest on this instance. It worked. The delivery came close to the time we were expecting, everything came as ordered, and everyone was happy with the food and temperature when we received it. We had a few special requests because the Menu App allowed for notes and choices, which the restaurant performed admirably. As for the food: You never know with a large order if someone is going to get the "one-off" menu item, but this place has proven that their food is consistently well prepared. Everyone was extremely happy with their food, which made me look like a rock star, so Thank You. Personally, I would have liked my Szechuan wontons spicier, but I can always add my own to the mix. I can tell that they made their own dough, as it was fresh and not a pre-bought store variety. I liked the chili oil side order - and the fact that I could order 8oz as a side was awesome. Someone thought that through, and I appreciate being able to order more than a tiny container. I do judge my Chinese restaurants on their hot and sour soup - it had the right thickness, all the elements were included, and a good balance of hot and sour (a little more sour, less hot than I like - but the balance was there and on point with my expectations). I'm sure I'll have more to say about their food as I go through their menu in the future. We will most definitely be ordering from here again... if not regularly. read more

This may be our favorite Chinese restaurant. This owner staffed small business strives to make every order perfect - and succeeds! My favorite appetizer is the spicy wonton. It is just spicy enough to be enjoyable. I also love their corn chicken soup. In fact, I have yet to be disappointed. They will gladly customize dishes for dietary restrictions. I had really low expectations for Shanghai. I've driven by their sign a million times, never having seen the restaurant. It's in a terrible location, tucked away toward the back of a very modest strip mall. We are looking for some food to pickup and I said "why not let's try this place." I pulled up the menu on Yelp, called my order in, and 20 minutes later pulled up to a really decent looking restaurant. I was expecting a complete hole in the wall place. There was no one in the restaurant. But it made sense - the location is that bad. The food however was pretty cheap and very actually pretty good. The sweet and sour pork was so-so but everything else was good. A bit heavy on the sauce but without weighing the dishes down. I don't know how long they can stay open but for the time being we know we have a decent Chinese place close by. Its not Chinatown and it's not as good as North China on Hwy 6 but is much cheaper, and more authentic than Panda Express. They deliver as well. If you live in area and are craving Chinese food it's a good option. read more

Clean, well ordered dining room. Almost empty when I came in. I was directed to a booth and I sank so far down on the bench seat that I almost had to reach up to the table. Iced tea and menu came quickly; tea was fine, with a fresh wedge of lemon. Ordered off of the lunch menu....Garlic chicken w/fried rice, hot/sour soup, and egg roll. Soup came out first, and lacked the tang of a good hot and sour soup; it was as close to bland as I would imagine hot and sour soup could ever get, although the ingredients were identifiable and seemed to be fresh and in order. I doctored it up with some soy sauce and carried on. Garlic Chicken arrived with the fried rice and egg roll on the plate. The egg roll was room temperature and generally unappetizing with a too-chewy exterior and an unidentifiable paste of ingredients inside, once again with no discernible flavor so another spritz of soy sauce helps get it up to edible level. Everything about the garlic chicken was wrong. The chicken was overcooked and inconsistent in size, from slivers to half dollar sized lumps, and there was so little meat anyway that I'm not sure a vegan wouldn't have just shrugged his shoulders and eaten the whole thing....broccoli was also overdone to the point of being soggy and was WAY out of proportion; it probably made up 60% of the entire dish. The sauce holding it all together was cloyingly sweet and there was WAY too much of it. I didn't enjoy much about the meal and probably will never go back, but the check was only $9 and this was my first visit so there is a chance I just had one of those worst dish/worst day combos that happens sometimes.
