Seaweed salad, shumai & pork buns

Eat-in or takeout, this is by far the best Japanese food in Oneonta. Pork buns, shumai, sushi, sashimi, seaweed salad: just so good! The price is extremely reasonable compared to comparable quality in other areas. The service is always amazing. They really care about the happiness of their customers & it shows.

God damn delicious. Quit reading this review and go eat! You'll be glad you did. Accept no substitutes for amazing sushi anywhere else in town. This is the spot. TIGER FOR THE WIN ! ( especially when the college kids are gone)

We ate here last night, at first we thought it was an empty building but you do have to continue to walk inside to be seated. Our waiter was very nice and very informative on what came in the sushi. I am a visual person so I wish there were photos of the sushi itself or at least more of an explanation of what came in the sushi. The food is pretty good, I'm surprised that only 1 order of sushi filled me up. We also had the hibachi steak and chicken, delicious.

Walked in and The People were so Inviting. I ranked it Four Stars because of the Price. I believe at Tokyo, you pay $24.00 for a "Dinner Bento Box" which comes with Rice, 3 rolls of Sushi,a Fried Volcano Roll, Miso Soup and Salad. Here, I only bought Three Rolls of Sushi, and Some Fried Rice (and the Miso Soup came with the Fried Rice) and the Total Ended up being $36.00+ However, the food tasted great and Super authentic, especially the Seaweed around the sushi and the Vegetable Fried Rice. The Sushi was wrapped tight and didn't fall apart, when I picked it up with chopsticks. They were super fast and started preparing the order right in front of me with a Smile on their Face. Totally Loving the Service With a Smile!! Thanks!

Green tea ice cream here is a 10/10

TIGER DELIVERS! Reviewing this after I've eaten here consistently for three years. We were seated quickly as soon as we arrived. We were seated upstairs at an outdoor table set. The chair dug into my legs. It was pretty uncomfortable. I do have to say, our waitress was very friendly. The sushi here is good. I regularly get the spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls. Their volcano roll is delicious. The entire sushi roll is fried after it is made and it is served on a plate, still warm, covered in a sweet sauce. MMmmm! The rolls here are thicker than Tokyo's. In addition to that, we also ordered the cha siu pork buns. It wasn't traditional the type of red cha siu. I would've just called it pork, honestly. It was good, but it wasn't what it was named after. The pork gyoza comes with a plate of 6 for $4.95. They are small and mediocre. The sake bombs here are also cheaper than sake bombs at Tokyo. The green tea ice cream here is really delicious and it comes in a bowl with 3 scoops for $3.95. If you want fried ice cream, it is $4.95. The best deal here are definitely the sushi or the lunch combinations. Con: Verizon users never have phone service in the restaurant.

The sushi was great, crudo was super fresh and flavorful, great value! The rice was a little bland, but i didn't order it my friend did and I wouldn't get a Chinese dish at a Japanese restaurant personally. The Katsu was good, however the sauce left something to be desired. A bit over salted with a strange flavour, not bad but maybe too much Tamarind? (not sure but it was unlike otherectile Katau sauce I've had and I used to work in Japanese restaurants). Overall would return for sushi and other Japanese specialties, will try the Gyoza next! Table service inside provided a nice atmosphere though staff can be difficult to communicate with at times . Food arrived out of any particular order, but came in fresh each time. Tokyo distinguishes itself with a good quality of sushi and consistency each time . They will stay for me as a local favorite.

My family is in the region on vacation, and we left Liberty (an hour from Tuna III) fairly hungry. I called to make sure that they were open, and a man answered the phone and simply said, "hello, I will call you back in 15 minutes." I shouted an expletive and my wife yelled at me. She argued that "at least we know that they're open." We decided to give them a try. Upon arrival, the "Closed" sign was at the door, but the door wasn't locked so I went in to inquire. Turns out, Chef Wilson was on his own, cleaning up the place by himself after a hectic evening. I explained that I called earlier but no one called me back. He felt badly, and while the place was closed, he took us in. We had the place all to ourselves, and aside from our hunger, we were in no rush. The miso soup was small (but inexpensive, and really good). It had a very strong flavor and included some nice ingredients like enoki mushroom. The house salad had a very nice carrot ginger dressing. I felt like my salmon avocado roll had a but too much rice on it, but the fish was fresh and I enjoyed it. I also realized that Wilson was on somewhat of a hurry to serve us, and being alone, I can't really know exactly what the good would have been like if he had his whole crew there. I enjoyed the sukiyaki... I've had better... it seemed like there was a strong taste of something like vinegar. Still, it was authentic, and I liked it. The only thing that was strange was this spoon shaped like a small ladle. It was hard to get the pieces of cabbage from within there, and I had to slurp, which really pisses off my daughter! My wife and kid both got the Sea Dragon Roll. My wife said she had found her NEW FAVORITE ROLL of all time. They loved it. Great presentation and excellent sauce combo... too bad we can't come back for it regularly. Wilson is a very genuine guy. I really appreciated his taking us in for to the circumstances. I would absolutely support this place if we were locals.
