This is a hidden location behind some trees in a strip mall but it wasn't too had to find. It's a good thing there is a turn signal on the blvd to turn right in. I was a huge fan of chipotle but the more I go to them the more I find that they won't make adjustments to your needs. I'm glad this chain makes changes to your order as you would like them too. Even willing to separate a burrito in half and wrap them separate it. The steak burrito was pretty good by the way and it came with chips. I ordered the steak bowl and it was a hearty amount. It was topped with some lettuce and tomato with sour cream also and melted cheese inside. Their sauce bar is great. Sissy sauces to very hot sauces. Not impressed with the freshness nor taste. I got the Thursday special burrito, chicken, around 730pm. It was fairly soggy when I got it. The few bites I had at the table weren't impressive with flavor but I paid for it and I planned on eating it. I took it to go to eat on a red eye flight and by 3am (stored in cold rooms the entire time) it smelled pretty rotten. The plastic bag I stored it in was also filled with bad smelling liquid leached from the lettuce. If ingredients were as fresh as claimed on their website, it should take longer without refrigeration before smelling like that. Chips that came with the me seemed fresh and tasted fine. Hot sauce bar was good. My "coke" tasted off - not like Pepsi and the cashier didn't say anything about it being not coca cola. I'm left to assume it's something weird with the syrup or in the crushed ice. While the staff was nice and fast to respond to requests, the food and soda was awful and I don't recommend it to anyone. read more

Was told to check it out and glad I did. It's busy and had to wait for just a few minutes to get a seat. My enchiladas were great and the staff was super friendly. Was asked multiple times how my meal was and if I needed anything. As I was leaving a manager approached and was very sincere in thanking me for stopping by. GREAT OPTION FOR DINING OUT OR EATING IN! My husband and I were looking for a convenient restaurant on Saturday night. We happened to find this one very close to our hotel and best of all, it was still open after 9pm. It is a casual restaurant with a very bold and festive décor and the perfect weekend hang out. Since we were very tired, we decided to take our order to go. I ordered a bowl with chicken, black beans, rice and fresh vegetables, while my husband ordered the very large chicken burrito. I enjoyed my bowl but added neutral ingredients in order to mellow the seasoning. Instead of the seasoned guacamole that came with it, I added avocado and it was perfect. My husband enjoyed his massive burrito and ate it ALL. My bowl was a very generous portion (for only $5), and I was only able to eat half of it during the initial sitting. This is a really nice restaurant with great staff that was still alert and perky late into the evening. They were very helpful with the ordering process and it was just a pleasure hanging out here. We had a great experience at the Tijuana flats in Daytona beach. The staff was super friendly. Lexus was also very very patient and kind while dealing with our various dietary restrictions. We had a complicated order with various modifications and she did a great job repeating the Oder to make sure she got all of it. We were impressed that everything came out correct and very tasty. The queso is bomb and staff were extremely helpful, attentive and nice. They could tell we were new customers and even made food recommendations to us. They seem to like the food there themselves as they only had good things to say with their recommendations. Ordered at the front and then after seated they serve your food and refill drinks for you. Great place for burritos and there are plenty of HOT sauces to try. The staff is always great and over the years I have gotten to know the managers. Now when I go in they always come over to say hi. The food is great and prices are very reasonable. Plenty of parking in the back with a back door to walk in as well. If you want to sit outside there is a place in the back so you do not have to listen to the cars on ISB. The wall murals are very funny as well to look over while eating. read more

The burritos are HUGE! And pretty good! However, the organization of the operation maybe not so much. Ordered takeout and they forgot chips with "chips and queso". The queso is basically (if not absolutely) heated up tostitos queso (nacho cheese like). The burritos were also mislabeled so multiple parties were displeased and didn't get exactly what they wanted... one with an very unpleasant surprise of jalopeños! We sat outside and every so often one of the girls would come out and asked if we were good. Nobody had a face, you couldn't tell who the manager was, everyone was super down to earth. Tijuana Flats was the first stop once getting into Daytona Beach and we were pleasantly surprised. Let's start with the queso; one word-Delicious! Perfect blend of cheese and spices. The chips had a nice amount of seasoning on them as well. We ordered the fish tacos, blackened chicken quesadillas and chicken flatulas. All were tasty. The amount of sauce varieties for your food is what sets this apart from other Tex-Mex establishments. My girls tried all except 3. The food is quite tasty and the portions are plentiful. Prices are what you would expect. There is parking behind the building and you can enter through the back door. However, if you are a newbie, you'll be looking around for a menu. When we visited, the menus were situated where you'd only notice them if you came in through the front door. We ended up asking another customer where the menus were. Soon after, other customers, in turn, asked us where the menus were. After you place your order and pay, you have to find a table and your food will be brought to you. We had trouble finding a clean table. We ended up wiping down our own table and removing trash. The girls at this restaurant go above and beyond to take care of the customers. Whether just friendly chatter, getting up and walking their customers to the door while holding it open thanking them for their business, or simply smiling and maintaining a joyful atmosphere... Where I grew up in the hood in California, Tijuana Flats was a hardcore Mexican gang. I figured they opened a burrito store and gave up the drive by's. On with the review....I walked in knowing this would be more like a "Gringo" style burrito then a true Mexican burrito you get at the lunch trucks in East LA. Let me start off by saying that the service was excellent and the place was clean. The chicken burrito ordered was decent. No beans, no rice like usual but olives, sour cream, and processed flavored chicken. The salsas/sauces were more like a novelty item then truly fresh made salsa. Youngsters and College kids might enjoy the atmosphere but old people might find it too noisy and can possible get a seizure from all the colors on the walls. Its Worth a try but next time I will try something else on the menu. read more

I love going to Tijuana Flats on ISB in Daytona Beach. The food is always great, and the entire staff is "over the top: friendly. It is always clean and the food comes out fast, which is saying something because the place is always busy. We have gotten takeout for the family, and also used their catering service for business events and lunches. They always provide great food, great pricing, an plenty of food for everyone. This is my most favorite restaurant in the known universe, hands down. I frequent this and the Orange City location. I can't get enough and my family and I dine here every time we're in Daytona. I know every time I can expect the most crisp and fresh tacos money can buy. Not to mention the chips and queso are to die for. My friends, family and I can consistently count on impeccable service each and every time eating here. I can honestly say that I've never had a problem with the food or service and I think that says a lot. The management team should definitely be commended. This also can be said for the Orange City location, correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard these two locations are owned/operated by the same people? But what keeps me coming back is the manager Josh and the amazing, hard-working staff he's put together. Today was no different! I was welcomed and served by the now famous "Kaley on Tuesday" (because that's the day she's here). I find out later that she's only been trained for two months but she took care of all of her customers expertly. Josh's secret to success is his hiring process and his own easy charisma. Chased me out into the parking lot as I was leaving with my to-go order. Slammed on my brakes, the employee said "I think there were churros put into your bag!" We looked in the bag, yes indeed, churros I didn't order. Reached into my car and said "sorry!" for me to hand over the churros, presumably to serve to another customer? I thought food safety guidelines did not permit for food to be re-served to a customer once it was already served to a different customer. And, it's CHURROS. Just give another fresh and hot order to the customer that ordered them. I don't even like churros that much so it's not like I'm mourning the loss of them, just seems like an odd business practice to chase customers out in the parking lot and take food from them. When I got back to my hotel with my order it wasn't even what I had ordered. Called and explained and they said they were mixed up by two to-go orders back to back. The food at all TF's is great but the experience at this one is head and shoulders above any I've been at. The service is great, from the general staff to the managers. Josh, the owner, is almost always around and checking to make sure his customers are having a great time and that each customers food is perfect. YUCK!!!!! This was one of the worst places I've ever eaten at. Coming from San Diego I pretty much know good Mexican food. The burrito I had was so small and flat and absolutely tasteless! I was shocked at the prices and thankfully I had a coupon. The place was very loud and the staff rude. Their selection of hot sauces was the only thing decent about this place... you need a good selection to cover up the taste... or lack thereof, of the burritos.
